李时珍英文介绍

Li Shizhen was born in a family of doctors, in Qizhou of Hubei Province.（湖北蕲州） Although his father and grandfather are both doctors, his father didn’t want Li Shizhen to be a doctor. So Li Shizhen had to study hard to be an officer（官员）.
When Li Shizhen was 20 years old, he had a serious illness（得了重 病）. It made him decided to be a doctor to help people.
So, he stopped studying for the test to be an officer（科 举考试）and started learning medicine with his father.
Li Shizhen（ 1518—1593 ） is one of the most famous doctor and scientist in China and the world. In our opinion, he is a real hero, because he saved many people’s lives.
Between 1551 and 1552, Li Shizhen was invited by a prince（亲王） and the emperor（皇帝） to be their personal doctor, but Li Shizhen was not interested in fame（名誉） or wealth（财富）, so he resigned（辞 职） soon.
Ten years passed, he had become a famous doctor, and he treated many local people.
He didn’t want much money for his treatment, but his patients （病人） could get better and stay healthy.
Then, the book became popular in allBiblioteka Baiduover the world and it has been translated into many languages（被翻 译成多国语言）.
He knew this mission（任务） was dangerous, but he continued doing this to help more people to live in a better life. That's a real hero for us! Now, this book is popular all over the world, and people all knew the Chinese doctor. All of us should thank him for his contribution（贡献）.
He traveled to 13 provinces in China （明朝时中国分十三个省）and tried all kinds of plants.
Although some of them is very dangerous, Li Shizhen still tried them. Then, his book <Compendium of Materia Medica >（本草纲目）finished in 1578. This book covers 1518 kinds of medicine and 11096 prescriptions（药 方）. There are also pictures in it. We think it is the best medical writing in China.
