I’m so glad that I have learned A Guide to Success at Business English Courses by myself this semester, and I think there are many valuable concepts that are worth learning and applying.
In Unit 1, it introduces what is business and what is a business professional, the qualities of a professional, and how to improve our interpersonal communication and build a team. This is very useful for business professionals to structure working plans. And how to manage time and work is important as well. And it gives an illustration about four stages which makes a control loop, proving a widely used model in planning work and allocating resources that we can follow up. Moreover, in making decisions part it shows how to make decisions in different situations, and the special useful techniques to help making correct decisions. It is not only clear but also comprehensive. In Unit 2 the core

It introduces the importance of cross-cultural communication and gives a case which is Euro Disney Corp making mistakes to explain the importance of cross-cultural communication. And I have learned what is culture and the key cultural components related to business, including language, religion and attitude. In Unit 3, it describes goals and target learners. There is a general framework of the course, what business areas are covered in the courses, and give me an overview of the course, so that I can make a plan to learn it. And there are also available learning resources. We can also learn how to use them. In the end, there are two learning strategies recommended in the course, which are study plans and practicing activities. So I have gained a better understanding of the Business English Courses .In all concepts, I think Working in a Team and Managing Your time are particularly interesting and insightful to me. Because these two concepts make me be more united and learn how to improve efficiency when I’m working.

There is an old saying “No one is perfect, but a team can be.” When we work on a new project, the first step is to build a team, and to follow the 6 stages that the course has mentioned. In a team dynamic, effective interpersonal communication among members and successful communication with managers and employees external to the team are critical to the success of the team. Secondly, for a business professional making right decisions is very important. I have learned 5 frequent types of problems and opposite recommended solutions that business professional often run into. Besides, there are some useful techniques, which include lateral thinking, brainstorming, lists and decision tree. I have understood how to use these techniques effectively, so that I can make them become useful approaches in my work. Thirdly, according to the weekly study plan which is provided in Unit 3, and considering my own specific situation, I will draw up a suitable study plan that accords with my real-life circumstances. And then, following up each project strictly is necessary too.
I believe that with the perfect structure and my efforts I will make a great
