Films such as Raise the Red Lantern and Hero brought his films to the attention of the West, and succeeded in creating a new audience for Chinese cinema.Born in 1951 , Zhang Yimou spent his youth working on farms and in factories, during which time he developed a love of photography. When the Beijing Film Academy reopened, Zhang Yimou became one of the first students. After graduation, his career as director of photography began. In 1987 Zhang directed his first film, Red Sorghum, which was a great success. In 1992, Zhang's Raise the Red Lantern was nominated (提名)for an Oscar for Best Foreign Film. Film fans were attracted by the great visual (视觉的) beauty of Zhang's films, and by the importance in his stories of his heroines. In 2002, Zhang made Hero, a martial(武打)arts film set in ancient times but told in a pletely different, modem style. Hero achieved great success in the West.In 2004, Zhang made Houses of the Flying Dragons, another martial arts film, which Zhang described as being “ much more like a modern romantic story" in which the characters devote every other thing for love.Perhaps one of the keys to Zhang's success as a filmmaker is the fact that hispreparations for a film are so detailed. He has said before he starts a project he discusses everything in detail with every single person involved in the film. The result is that when filming starts, everyone understands what is wanted. It is certain that Zhang has many more years of successful filmmaking.24. When did Zhang Yimou turn film maker?A. In his forties.B. In his thirties.C. After 1987.D. While at college.25. When children receive more attention, they often have higher IQs. Babies receive information when they see, hear and feel things, which makes connections between different parts of the brain. There are a hundred trillion connections in the brain of a threeyearold child.Researcher Judit Gervain tested how good newborns are at telling different sound patterns. The researchers produced images of the brains of babies as they heard different sound patterns. For example, one order was mu—ba—ba. This is the pattern "ABB”. Another order was mu—ba—ge. This is the pattern “ABC”. The images showed that the part of the brain responsible for speech was more active during the "ABB” pattern. This shows that babies can tell the difference between different patterns. They also were sensitive(敏感)to where it occurred in the order.Gervain is excited by these findings because the order of sounds is the base of words and grammar, “Position is key to language,” she says. “If something is at the beginning or at the end, it makes a big difference:‘John caught the bear’ is very different from ‘The bear caught John.’”Researchers led by scientist Patricia Kuhl have found that language delivered by televisions, audio books, the Internet, or smartphones—no matter how educational—doesn't appear to be enough for children's brain development. They carried out a study of ninemonthold American babies. They expected the first group who'd watched videos in Chinese to show the same kind of learning as the second group who were brought facetoface with the same sounds. Instead they found a huge difference. The babies in the second group were able to distinguish(辨别)between similar Chinese sounds as well as native listeners. But the other babies—regardless of whether they had watched the video or listened to the audio—learned nothing.28. Why are early experiences so important to children according to the study?A. They can help to develop their brains.B. They can increase new information of IQs.C. They can offer children more attention.D. They can show connections in their brains.29. How was the research carried out?A. By recognizing babies’different appearances.B. By producing images of new words for babies.C. By checking babies’ brains to identify (识别) different sound patterns.D. By testing how babies’ brains learn to speak language.30. Why is Gervain excited about the findings?A. Grammar is important in learning languages,B. Different languages have different grammar rules.C. The order of words es from its grammar meaning.D. Different orders of sounds have different meanings.31. What is Patricia Kuhl most likely to agree?A. Learning Chinese is of great benefit to babies’ brains.B. Facetoface munication can improve babies’ brains.C. Babies are better than adults in learning a foreign language.D. Babies learn a lot from television, audio books or the Internet.DAsk people in the UK what the words “Sunday roast(烤肉)” mean to them, and they’ll probably take you back to their grandmothers’ dining rooms— maybe with a few stories of “the greatest puddings” and “the best ever steak”. But now the tr aditional Sunday roast seems to have been left back in the old days. According to the Daily Mail, just one in 50 British families sits down to this weekly meal together. There are many reasons why the roast is being less popular. In the busy modern world, where breakfast is a slice of toast eaten on the way to work or school and lunch is a quick sandwich in front of the puter screen, people just don’t seem to have the time or patience to make a roast. And Sunday was once a day when people could easily go to the kitchen to cook. Nowadays, people are often out shopping or at the cinema until it’s far too late to start thinking about heating the oven (烤箱) up.However, a recent article from The Telegraph warned against being carried away by our tight schedules: “It would be a shame to let this fine old tradition disappear.”The Guardian further explained that the eating of the big meal is only the half of it. The Sunday roast also makes for relaxed morning activities in the kitchen, and the table bees the perfe ct place to share good food and chat with family and friends. “For busy moms and dads, even if you can manage to turn off your mobile phone and the TV only once a week and turn the Sunday roast into a real family event, children can have fun cooking the food and clearing up together.”32. Why do people pay less attention to Sunday roast?A. They are living in the modern society.B. They have no interest in cooking.C. They don’t think it worthwhile.D. They have a busy lifestyle.33. What does th e underlined word “it” in the last paragraph refer to?A. A recent article.B. The fine old tradition.C. A traditional kitchen.D. The Sunday morning activity.34. How does the author feel towards Sunday roast’s dying out?A. Doubtful.B. Positive.C. Sorry.D. Uncertain.35. What is the best title for the passage?A. Sunday Roast Dying OutB. SundayBest Time for FamilyC. It’s the Perfect Time for UsD. Let’s Sit Down Together第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,并在答题卡上填上相应答案。

写一篇我住在东虹花苑来学校的英语作文
写一篇我住在东虹花苑来学校的英语作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Home at Donghong GardenHi there! My name is Xiaoming and I'm 10 years old. I live with my mom, dad, and little sister in an apartment complex called Donghong Garden. It's a really nice place to live and I want to tell you all about it!Our apartment is on the 6th floor of one of the tall buildings. Even though we're up high, we have a great view out our living room window of the garden courtyard in the middle of the complex. There are lots of trees, flowers, and even a little pond with some ducks and fish swimming around. In the mornings I love looking out at the garden while I eat my breakfast. The courtyard has play areas too like swings, slides, and climbing frames. After school and on weekends, I always go out to play with my friends who live nearby. We run around chasing each other, play hide and seek behind the bushes and trees, or have races. Sometimes the gardeners even let us help take care of the flower beds! My little sister Meimei also loves theplayground and I watch out to make sure she's safe when she's on the baby swings.Donghong Garden has so many cool things for kids. There's a big swimming pool that's open in summer where my parents take us swimming on hot days. I'm still learning how to swim properly but it's lots of fun splashing around. There are also basketball courts, ping-pong tables, and an indoor game room with things like foosball and video games. My dad often plays basketball with his friends in the evenings after work. One of my favorite parts of Donghong Garden is the little convenience store downstairs. They sell all kinds of snacks, drinks, and small toys. After a long day at school, I love going with my mom to get an ice cream or popsicle. The store owners are really friendly and they always slip me an extra candy when my parents aren't looking! Our neighbors in the buildings around us are super nice too. There's an older man, Grandpa Liu, who is retired and loves telling funny stories to me and my friends. Auntie Wang has a daughter my age and we sometimes have playdates at her place. She makes the most delicious dumplings! There are families from all over China living at Donghong Garden and everyone is very kind.I'm really lucky that my school is just a short walk from our home. Every morning, my dad takes me about 10 minutes down the road to Qilin Elementary School. It's a big campus with loads of classrooms, a big field for running around during breaks, and even an indoor swimming pool. I learn all kinds of subjects like math, Chinese, English, science, art, and music. My favorite classes are probably PE and art. I'm quite good at running and sports like soccer and basketball. For art, I love drawing pictures and making crafts. Just last month, we made these cool paper-mache dragons that I hung up in my bedroom!I also really like English class since I get to practice reading, writing, and speaking in a foreign language. My English teacher is super encouraging and helps me improve bit by bit.School days are pretty long - I'm there from 8am until 4pm. But I don't mind because we have fun breaks for snacks, games, and relaxing. At lunchtime, I usually eat the yummy cafeteria food with my best friends Xiaoxiao and Xiaoli. We laugh a lot together and talk about everything under the sun. Sometimes I bring food from home like dumplings or noodles that my mom made. After school, my mom or grandma picks me up and we walk home together. I tell them about my day and then I have a snackor do my homework before dinner. In the evenings, I enjoy watching some TV, playing with my toys and games, and reading comic books. My dad helps me with my math homework since that's my hardest subject. Then it's bath time and bed by 9pm so I'm well-rested for another day!Living at Donghong Garden and going to Qilin School is pretty great. I have wonderful friends and neighbors, lots of safe places to play and stay active, and I get a good education. My parents work hard to give me and Meimei a warm home and everything we need. Even though I'm just a kid, I feel extremely lucky and happy here. As I grow up, I'll always have special memories of this place. Thanks for reading about my life!篇2My Home at Donghong Flower GardenHi there! My name is Xiaoming and I'm a 10-year-old student in the 5th grade. I live in a really nice place called Donghong Flower Garden with my mom, dad, and little sister Xiaohua. It's a big apartment complex with lots of tall buildings and families living there. I really like it here!Donghong Flower Garden has the best location. It's not too far from my school, which makes my morning commute reallyeasy. I can either walk or take a short bus ride to get there. A lot of my classmates also live in the same neighborhood, so we can walk together or meet up at the bus stop. I never have to leave too early because it's so close. My actual home is a three-bedroom apartment on the 12th floor of one of the buildings. We have a pretty good view overlooking some of the gardens and playgrounds from our windows. My room has blue walls covered in posters of my favorite video game characters and sports teams. I spend a lot of time playing video games or reading comics when I'm not doing homework.Xiaohua and I have to share the other bedroom, but it's not too bad since she's pretty neat. She mostly just has stuffed animals everywhere. Mom and dad have the master bedroom to themselves. Our apartment may not be huge, but it's just enough space for our family.I really like the community at Donghong Flower Garden though. There are so many cool areas for kids like me to have fun. Right outside our building there are basketball courts where I can play pickup games with friends after school. There's also a huge playground with swings, slides, monkey bars, and more.Sometimes they even have bouncy castles set up temporarily which are awesome. On the north side of the complex, there's a nice swimming pool and sandy areas made to look like a little beach. It's open during summer so we can swim and build sandcastles. There's a snack bar there too that sells ice cream and drinks which is dangerous for my allowance money. I have to resist buying too many popsicles when it's hot out!For exercising, there is a running path that loops around the whole garden area. Lots of residents walk, jog, or ride bikes along the path in the evenings when it's cooler outside. The path goes past some flower gardens, ponds with ducks, and shady gazebos where people can sit and relax. Every spring the cherry blossom trees bloom and make it look so pretty. In the middle of Donghong Flower Garden there is a big grassy area that's great for having picnics, playing frisbee, flying kites, or just hanging out. Sometimes they have cool events like outdoor movie screenings or concerts there during holidays. Around Christmas they put up the most amazing light displays that are so much fun to walk through at night. Lunar New Year is also really exciting, with dragon dances and amazing food vendors set up outside. My parents definitely picked an awesome place for us to live.I feel so lucky to grow up surrounded by gardens, playgrounds, and activities right outside our door. And the location is perfect for getting to Sunview Elementary School where I'm a student.Sunview is a pretty big school with around 1,000 kids total. The buildings are kind of old but they have recently been renovating everything to make it look more modern. We have the typical classrooms, science labs, computer rooms, gym, cafeteria, library, art room, music room and all that good stuff. There are also some new interactive whiteboards installed which are really cool for learning. My favorite part of the school is definitely the huge field in the back. We can play sports like soccer, basketball, or just run around during P.E. class and recess times. I'm on the school's soccer team too, so we get to practice on those fields a few times a week. Our team is doing pretty well this season so far! Most of my classes are okay. I like science and PE the most because they are very hands-on and not just sitting at a desk all period. Math can be boring but I've gotten better at it. I absolutely hate writing essays though – way too much work! My least favorite is probably English class because there is so muchreading, writing, analyzing stories, and doing presentations which gives me anxiety. The lunchroom food is decent I guess. They have okay dishes like fried rice, dumplings, noodles, along with some western food like pizza, burgers, or sandwiches. I'm not too picky so I can usually find something I like, especially if it's taco or pasta day. Desserts are hit or miss though. The chocolate cake is pretty good but steer clear of the radioactive-looking jello. After school, I have some activities to keep me busy too. On Mondays I go to coding club where we learn programming and game development which is fun. Tuesdays and Thursdays are my soccer practices and games. Wednesday is tutoring for any subjects I need extra help in that week. Sometimes I'll just go hang out at Donghong's gaming room and play video games with friends for a few hours before heading home too.Once I get home from school, it's pretty relaxing. I'll eat a snack, maybe watch some TV, or play outside at Donghong for a bit if the weather is nice. Doing homework is my biggest struggle because I'd way rather be gaming instead of stuck doing math worksheets and book reports. Mom and dad are always nagging me about it though, so eventually I'll sit down and grind through my assignments. On the weekends, I don't have any set schedule which is glorious. I can sleep in as late as I want without morning alarms going off. Saturdays often start with a big brunch and then I'll go meet up with friends at Donghong to play basketball, swim when it's warm out, or maybe have a videogame marathon. Sometimes we get pricy and go to the mall or see a movie too.Sundays are more for family time and running errands. We'll go out for dim sum brunch, do grocery shopping, maybe stop at the library, stuff like that. Evenings are for relaxing at home, maybe watching shows together, and getting ready for the next week. Before bed, my parents like if we can all spend a little time reviewing our week, talking about what we learned or did.Overall, I feel really lucky with my current living situation. Donghong Flower Garden is such a fun, kid-friendly place with tons of amenities, a community of nice families, and a convenient location. Plus, Sunview Elementary isn't too shabby either, all things considered. I need to cherish this elementary school era because I know middle school and beyond is going to get a whole lot harder. But for now, life is pretty great in my little world!篇3My Neighborhood and SchoolHi there! My name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. I live in a really nice neighborhood called Donghong Flower Garden. It's a big community with lots of tall apartment buildings and pretty gardens and parks everywhere. I love living here because there are so many other kids my age to play with. Our apartment is on the 8th floor and has a great view of the neighborhood gardens down below. My brother Jack and I have our own rooms, which is nice. Jack is 8 years old. My parents both work a lot, so we have a nanny named Auntie Chen who comes over every day after school to help us with homework and make us dinner.I really enjoy living in Donghong Flower Garden because it'sa very family-friendly place. There are playgrounds, sports courts, and even a swimming pool that all the kids can use. On the weekends, the gardens are filled with families having picnics or just relaxing and enjoying the fresh air and flowers. It's such a peaceful and beautiful place to live.Getting to school from my house is very easy and convenient too. My elementary school, Sunshine Primary School, is just a short 10-minute walk from my apartment building. I really like being able to walk to school each morning instead of having totake the bus or train. My dad or Auntie Chen walks me there every day before they go to work.Sunshine Primary School is a big three-story building painted bright yellow. I'm in the 4th grade this year. My favorite subjects are art, music, and P.E. because they are a lot of fun. I'm not a big fan of math though - it's kind of hard for me. But I'm trying my best because I know it's important. At Sunshine Primary School, we wear cute uniforms with white blouses and blue skirts for girls or blue pants for boys. We also have to wear white socks and black shoes. I think the uniforms look really nice. My best friends at school are Emily and Sarah. We always play together at recess and sit together at lunchtime in the cafeteria. We really like our cafeteria food too - it's way better than the sad lunches my mom packs for me!After school each day, we have all kinds of different activities we can join. I'm in the art club, which is my favorite. We get to paint, draw, make crafts, and learn about famous artists. We even had an art show at the end of last year where we displayed our artwork for our parents. I was so proud of my painting! On the weekends, I have even more activities to keep me busy. I take Chinese dance lessons on Saturday mornings, and my parents also signed me up for piano lessons. Dance class isreally fun because we get to learn beautiful traditional dances while wearing colorful costumes. Piano lessons are okay too I guess, but definitely not as fun as dance! I have to practice piano every day after I finish my regular homework.Sundays are my day off from all my extra activities. My whole family sleeps in late, and then we usually go out for a big lunch together. We love going to the outdoor food plazas and trying different kinds of delicious Chinese dishes. After lunch, we'll walk around the neighborhood or one of us will play badminton or just relax at home. Sundays are the best! That's a little bit about my life living in Donghong Flower Garden and going to Sunshine Primary School. Even though I have a busy schedule, I really enjoy my neighborhood and my school. All the gardens, activities, and my friends make it such a fun and happy place for a kid like me to grow up. I feel very lucky!。

在自己的家乡上学英语作文
在自己的家乡上学英语作文I remember when I was a kid in my hometown, learning English was not a big deal. It was just something we did in school, and I never really thought much about it. We had English classes a few times a week, and we would learn basic vocabulary and grammar. One thing I always enjoyed was watching English movies with my friends. We would try to understand what the actors were saying, and sometimes we would even try to imitate their accents. It was a fun way to practice our listening and speaking skills.I also remember using English to communicate with tourists who visited my hometown. It was always exciting to be able to help them find their way around or recommend places to visit. It made me realize the practical importance of learning English. As I got older, I started to see the value of beingable to speak English fluently. It opened up so many opportunities for me, whether it was traveling to other countries or pursuing higher education. I'm grateful for the English education I received in my hometown. Now that I live in a different city, I sometimes miss the simplicity of learning English in my hometown. It was a time when I didn't have to worry about exams or grades, and I could just enjoy the process of learning a new language. I'm glad that I had that experience growing up.。

However, no city will ever quite match Cádiz, where I spent six months studying as a student. Before that, I knew very little about Cádiz but I decided to take a risk and explore it. Well, the risk certainly paid off.Cádiz, Europe’s oldest city, hangs off Spain’s southern coast on a peninsula(半岛), surrounded almost entirely by water. As you leave the shady streets of the historical old city and explore more of it, you are met with vast areas of the blue Atlantic Ocean and white sandy beaches, which in my opinion are some of the best in Spain! One of the great things about Cádiz is the wonderful, rich culture of food and drink. There are little tapas(小吃)bars lining every street and most will serve tapas for around 1. 50~2 euros, meaning you can try a whole variety of Andalusian dishes.Cádiz has also come to be known as “The Singing City”. It comes from the annual carnival(狂欢节), one of the biggest in Europe. A very large number of people go to Cádiz to see it. During those ten days, Cádiz’s narrow streets are filled with the sound of singing as musical groups fight for a place in the contest, which takes place on the last Saturday of carnival. The songs perfectly show the sense of humor of the Gaditanos, who, besides being so warm and welcoming, are said to have the best sense of humor in Spain! That is my experience of Cádiz, a wonderful, typically Andalusian city which is often overlooked but well worth a visit. I am currently living in Huelva, just a short drive from Cádiz, so please pay attention to my next sharing!24. What does the word “that” underlined in paragraph 2 refer to?A. Competing in a match.B. Teaching a student.C. Studying in Cádiz.D. Becoming an explorer.25. What does the third paragraph mainly talk about?A. The geographic position and scenery of Cádiz.B. The unknown origin and long history of Cádiz.C. The beautiful life of people living in Cádiz.D. The author’s complex attitude towards Cádiz.26. Why is Cádiz called “The Singing City”?A. A number of local people enjoy humorous songs.B. Many grand carnivals attract well-known singers.C. Singing is everywhere during a big annual carnival.D. A lot of singing competitions take place each year.27. From which is the text most probably taken?A. A geography textbook.B. A travel brochure.C. A biography.D. A post on the Internet.CDriven by her passion for providing quality healthcare, a Latvian(拉托维亚的) woman has won over the hearts of the elderly residing in the nursing home she oversees. It is incredibly rare to find a Caucasian woman working as the director of a nursing home in Shanghai. But the fact that Anastasija Puzankova can even converse in Liantang, a Chinese dialect spoken only by residents in a small town in southwestern Shanghai, makes her one of a kind.“I had always wondered how the elderly were getting along with others, or if they were well cared for. I realized that I could better serve them and understand their concerns if I spoke their dialect.” says the 35-year-old, who also speaks Russian, English, Latvian, French and Spanish.Puzankova chose to study Sinology(汉学) out of her curiosity about China at the University of Latvia in 2003. The next year, she traveled to Shanghai as part of an exchange program and then she spent the next 10 years studying law at Fudan University, graduating with a master's degree in 2014.Despite her qualifications, in 2018, Puzankova joined Haiyang Group, a Shanghai-based company that operates the nursing home, as an executive assistant. During that period, she performed so well in her nursing and management training that she was appointed the director of the home after just one year.A caregiver, surnamed Cai, says the atmosphere at the home has changed since Puzankova took charge. “She makes life in the nursing home uplifting and purposeful.” says Cai.“She throws monthly birthday parties for the elderly, creates a festive mood in the home for every traditional festival and frequently organizes handicrafts classes and activities to stimulate the minds of the residents.”When family visits and group activities were delayed during the novel coronavirus (冠状病毒) outbreak, Puzankova came up with a similar idea at the home, purchasingvegetable seeds and growing them in the field near the nursing home so that the residents can observe the plants growing from their windows.“Just watching the plants grow can lift their spirits. We can also serve these organic vegetables to them.” she explains.Puzankova says, “I simply like communicating with people, understanding their personalities and offering help when they are in need. Making an elderly person happy isn't hard. It just takes a little time, love and thought.”28. Why did Anastasija Puzankova learn the Chinese dialect Liantang?A. To satisfy her superior.B. To communicate with the elderly better.C. To research its history and popularity.D. To prove her language learning capacity.29. During the novel coronavirus outbreak, Puzankova ____________.A. planted some vegetables for the elderly to watch indoors.B. forbade family visits forever.C. created a festive mood in the home.D. organized some outdoor activities for the elderly.30. What can we learn from Puzankova’s story?A. Love breaks down barriers.B. Time tests.C. Hard work pays off.D. Education is the key to success.31. The best title of the passage could be “ _________”.A. A language expert with a loving heartB. A nursing home with a woman directorC. A foreign face with a local soulD. An executive assistant with a master’s degreeDWe’ve all been there: those times you need to argue your point of view to someone who you know disagrees with you. You immediately go to your keyboard and start to type out that 280character tweet, the Facebook reply, or a paragraphslong email. my village五年级作文英语
my village五年级作文英语My VillageI live in a small village in the countryside. It is a peaceful and beautiful place, surrounded by lush green fields and rolling hills. My village is a close-knit community where everyone knows each other and helps each other out.The heart of my village is the town square, where we have a charming little market every weekend. Local farmers and artisans come to sell their produce and crafts, and the air is filled with the scent of fresh bread and flowers. It is a lively and bustling place, full of laughter and chatter. My village is also full of natural beauty. There are many winding paths and trails that lead through the forests and meadows, perfect for long walks and bike rides. The river that runs through the village is crystal clear and teeming with fish, and in the summer, we love to swim and paddle in its cool waters. One of the best things about my village is the sense of community. We have a strong tradition of coming together for festivals and celebrations, and there is always something funhappening. Whether it's a village fete, a harvest party, or a music concert, there is never a dull moment in my village.I feel lucky to live in such a special place. My village may be small, but it is full of warmth and love. I know that no matter where life takes me, my village will always be a part of me.。
