Task 1Which one of the following volunteer work would you prefer doing? Tutoring children, driving senior citizens around or teaching adults to read?I would choose to drive senior citizens around for the following reasons. Firstly, senior citizens are the group of people that need our help the most. Take my grandfather for example, he’s 86 years old and he loves getting out of the house, he especially enjoys going to a café downtown where he meets with his friends regularly. But sometimes it can be really challenging for him, like last week it was snowing for like 3 days and it was icy on the ground outside, so he couldn’t go anywhere, he was so upset that he was stuck at home. But if there were volunteers to drive him to places he wants to go, he wouldn’t have had to suffer. Plus, it’s nice to spend some time with senior citizens. Some young people but find it dull to talk to the elderly, but I always enjoy chatting with them, my grandfather for instance can always bring interesting topics to the table and he always cracks me up.12月20日托福口语真题Task 2If there’s something you want to buy, do you prefer saving money yourself to buy it or ask someone to borrow some money to buy it?I would definitely save money myself to buy what I want for the following reasons. First of all, I always think things can go a little awkward between friends when there’s money involved. Take myself as an example, when I was in college I borrowed some money from my roommate to buy a laptop I really needed. At first I thought we were really good friends so it would be no problem as long as I could pay him back in 3 weeks, but after like 4 days, my roommate wanted me to pay him back because heneeded to go on a school trip, of course I couldn’t pay him back right away and he got mad at me. Things went pretty awkward since then and I was really embarrassed. So now if there’s something I wanna buy, I would definitely save money myself. Plus, most of my friends are students just like me, we still rely on our parents, so it would be irresponsible to borrow money from our friends just to buy something we want, it’s better to get a part-time job and save some money ourselves.12月20日托福口语真题Task 3题目回忆:学生建议设置电子布告栏,因为很多学生经过,而且校园会更整洁。

Task1 - If your parents accidentally won a large amountof money, what do you think should be done with it?Task2 - Do you think college students should choose their majors soon as they are admitted, or should they choosemajors in their second or third year in college?

Speciation is the evolutionary process by which new biological species arise. The biologist Orator F. Cook wasthe first to coin the term 'speciation' for the splitting of lineages or "cladogenesis," as opposed to "anagenesis" or "phyletic evolution" occurring within lineages. Charles Darwin was the first to describe the role of naturalselection in speciation. There is research comparing the intensity of sexual selection in different clades with their number of species. There are four geographic modes of speciation in nature, based on the extent to which speciating populations are isolated from one another: allopatric, peripatric, parapatric, and sympatric. Speciation may also be induced artificially, through animal husbandry, agriculture, or laboratory experiments. Whether genetic drift is a minor or major contributor to speciation is the subject matter of much ongoing discussion. All forms of natural speciation have taken place over the course of evolution; however, debate persists as to the relative importance of each mechanism in driving biodiversity. One example of natural speciation is the diversity of the three-spined stickleback, a marine fish that, after the lastglacial period, has undergone speciation into new freshwater colonies in isolated lakes and streams. Over an estimated 10,000 generations, the sticklebacks show structural differences that are greater than those seen betweendifferent genera of fish including variations in fins, changes in the number or size of their bony plates, variable jaw structure, and color differences.During allopatric speciation, a population splits into two geographically isolated populations (for example, by habitat fragmentation due to geographical change such as mountain formation). The isolated populations then undergo genotypic and/or phenotypic divergence as: (a) they become subjected to dissimilar selective pressures; (b) they independently undergo genetic drift; (c) different mutations arise in the two populations. When the populations come back into contact, they have evolved such that they are reproductively isolated and are no longer capable of exchanging genes. Island genetics is the term associated with the tendency of small, isolated genetic pools to produce unusual traits. Examples include insular dwarfism and the radical changes among certain famous island chains, for example on Komodo. The Galápagos Islands are particularly famous for their influence on Charles Darwin. During his five weeks there he heard that Galáp agos tortoises could be identified by island, and noticed that finches differed from one island to another, but it was only nine months later that he reflected that such facts could show that species were changeable. When he returned to England, his speculation on evolution deepened after experts informed him that these were separate species, not just varieties, and famously that other。

I would choose music history for a number of reasons.First, taking music courses has a ripple effect of helping students become better at other courses. When a team of researchers explored the connection between intelligence and music, they found that music instruction is far more effective than computer-based instruction when developing abstract critical thinking skills.Secondly, regardless of what we do for a living, all of us can learn from the past. Music is an integral part of our culture, a part that has ebbed and flowed in various directions over time. Learning about its history, and the ways in which it has changed over time, will make our appreciation for it much greater.

Task1If your university is going to invite someone to give a speech, who do you think they should invite? A businessman, a scientist or a politician?Personally speaking, I think it's a good idea to invite a scientist to give a speech in my university. I've got two reasons. First of all, students can benefit academically from a scientist's speech. Take myself as an example, myuniversity invited a environmental research scientist to give a speech regarding global warming. Even though it was not my major, I still learnt quite a lot from it. I learnt that in urban area, gas-tail emission contributes to more than 30% of the air pollution. And the scientist also shared several day-to-day things we ordinary people could do to protect the environment Secondly, scientists usually have some really amazing life stories of themselves about how their passionfor science affected their life‘ 1 find these stories extremely inspiring and they usually have a positiveinfluence on me as well.Task2If you have a misunderstanding with your friend, do you prefer talking it out in a public place or in a private place? If I ever got into such an awkward situation with my friend, I guess I would feel more comfortable talking aboutit in a public place. Firstly, people are usually more restrained in a public place, so it's less likely things will get out of control For instance, once my mom got into a fight with her friend, and my mom invited the friend home to talk it out. At first my mom wanted to apologize, but the friend just kept pushing her buttons until my mom couldn't take it any more. In the end they got into an even bigger fight . But if it was in a public place, I guess both my mom and her friend would have to think twice about their attitude and behaviors. At least things wouldn't get worse than before. Plus, I feel more at ease when I'm in a public place like a cafe or a pub, I can express myself better when I m more relaxed and our conflicts can be solved more easily.Task 3The university Is planning to offer business class on Saturdays and lower the tuition fee. In the conversation, the woman agrees with the plan. The first reason is that a lot of students who take business class also work full-time, since the business class will now be offered on Saturdays, it means it's more possible for students who also work full-time to take the class. As for the second reason, she points out that lowering the tuition fee will make it possible for more students to take the class, they will be able to afford itTask 4In the lecture, the professor introduces the concept of loss aversion. He offers us an example to illustrate It The professor once went to a supermarket and bought 20 dollars worth of food, but the cashier made a mistake and charged him 30 dollars instead. When the professor realized the mistake,he had to drive all the way back to the supermarket to get his 10 dollars back. But a couple of days later, his friend told him that a new cafe in town was giving 10 dollars to whoever was willing to try their new coffee, but the professor just wasn't interested in going at all.Task5The woman's problem is that she's the president of the camping club and she's supposed to take everyone camping this weekend, unfortunately the weather report said that it was going to rain- There are two possible solutions. The first one is to postpone the trip and go camping next weekend instead. And the second solution is to go this weekend and remind everyone to bring a raincoat. If I were in her shoes, I d go for the first solution because her club members would probably understand since It's not really something within her control I personally don't recommend the other solution because if it really rains, the members will have to stay inside the tents, what's the point of going camping if you can't even go outside?Task 6In the lecture, the professor talks about the characters of rainforest. The first one is warm climate. Take orchids as an example, orchids are pretty sensitive to the temperature, they can hardly survive the cold, but since the climate in the rainforest is relatively warm, the orchids can grow very well there. The other one is about canopy. The canopy created by layers and layers of leaves blocks the sunlight, so the environment on the ground is quite different from the。

2020年12月13日托福写作答案解析12月13日托福综合写作题目:Topic 议题:the special functions of the hammer-shaped head of a kind of a shark12月13日托福综合写作范文:Sample answer:The reading and listening discuss about the special functions of the hammer-shaped head of a kind of a shark. The passage mentions three functions. Whereas, the professor totally refutes the three points presented in the passage.Firstly, the professor rebuts the reading’s first point that sharks with such shaped head turn around quickly. The professor claims that this kind of shark does turn around quickly, but it is not because of the special head, but because of other factors such as skeleton. Besides young sharks were used in the previous experiment, thus the young also affected the result. Maybe the old ones with such special heads cannot turn around that quickly.Secondly, the professor contradicts reading’s second point that such head helps impr ove the shark’s sensitivity to electricity field. The professor mentions that an experiment proved that all sharks with and without this special head have similar sensitivity to artificial electric field. At last, the passage states the third view that the head can be used as a weapon to hunt prey. However, the professorexplains that Sharks’ eyes are located at both sides of the hammerhead, which is risky for them to use hammerheads as weapons. Besides, there’s no evidence to prove that sharks ever used heads as weapons.12月13日托福独立写作题目:作文题目:Some people believe older children should help parents to take care of younger siblings, while others believe this is parents' responsibility. L Describe an activity you and your family enjoy most. The activity that popular with my family is the basketba 11.First, whenever each family member is available, we would bring the ball to a park near to my house. You know why we all like to play basketball? We c an work in a team, cooperate with each other and have some fun. That9 s a rar e and valuable chance to enhance our relationship.Second, it would be beneficial for our health. Last summer, my mother and I were both a little bit overweight, so we decided to lose weight by playing bas ketball. As a result, every morning we would play in the park. When the new semester began, we both lost 10kg! That,s why my family all prefer the bask etball.2.What can u do to improve our environment?I am afraid, if we wanted to improve our environment, we would slow down the industrialization.First, dramatically development of industrialization creates a lot of exhausts that pollute the air and the water. For example, noxious water released from a chemical plant would kill fish of many species in the sea. If human being ate the toxic fish, they would get infected as well.Second, industrialization demands a lot of scarce resource; therefore, some of them are extinct and unrecoverable. Since the industrial revolution happened in 19th century, a lot of trees had been cut down for modern development, so that many forests disappeared from the planet. What a pity! Therefore, if our industrialization would slow down a little bit, it would give the environment enough time to recover from devastate.3.Describe an artist, musician or popular singer you do not like. Give spe cific reasons.Personally, the popular singer I dislike most is ... for the following reasons- First, she's not as benevolent as other celebrities. For example, many famous persons have donated thousands of dollars to WenChuang, where the catastrophe happened. But she, the mean woman, had no such action at all.Second, this woman is aiTogant and haughty. Sometimes she shouts at her fans and drives them away. You know, if her fans gave up their favor on her, she would become nobody. Worse, she always brags that she is the top singer in our country and slanders other singers. Therefore, she is the one I dislike most.4・ Describe a special job you had or would like to have.Personally speaking, the special job I like to do is being an international tourist guidefor the following reasons.First, being an international tourist guide means I have to deal with foreigners, which is the best chance for me to practice my spoken English. From communicating with them, I can learn native accent and foreign cultures from them. At the same time, I can introduce them with our Chinese traditions and beautiful sceneries and give them a deeper and better understanding about China.Second, leading foreign visitors to travel around is also wonderful opportunities for me to relax. You know, enjoying magnificent landscape all over the world can help me forget anything troublesome and have a peace of mind, release the pressure from my life.5.Please describe a tool or an object that is important in your daily life. Personally speaking, the important tool for me is my laptop for the following reasons. First, iVs pretty useful when I am boring. You know, I can watch latest movies, listen to beautiful music and even play computer games to relax myself. Especially after school, I am tired of studying, so I always turn to my laptop to have some fun, which will release the great pressure from my whole day's study and have a peace of mind. Second, my laptop is the most crucial tool to communicate with my friends. Just like my best friend Jason, who is studying in America. It's a long distance between him and me. But with the computer I can contact with him any time anywhere. It seems like we still hang together without separation. So I don't woiTy that the distance will damage our valuable friendship.6.Describe one way of life in your country has been changed and why it is beneficialPersonally, the way of life changed a lot in my country is the technology development, which benefits me so much.First, because of such development, laptops are becoming more and more popular with human beings, which are the best tool for us to communicate with each other. Just like my best friend Jason, he9s studying in America, which is far away from me. But with the computer, I can talk with him any time I want, it seems that we're still close without separation・Second, such development introduces subway to us. You know, subway is the most efficient transportation in my country. Especially, there "re a lot of heavy traffic jams. So if I go to school by car, it gonna takes me more than one hour in rush hours, but if I take subway instead, which can avoid jams, only cost me 20 minutes. Therefore, subway saves me a lot time, I really like it.7.Describe a piece of news or a story that you are interested in recently. And explain why you think it was interesting^ Include reasons and details in your response.Personally, the news I am interested in is that my favorite actor Tom Hanks gonna work on his new movie.First, you know, his new movie is a comedy. His performance is so amazing and historical that had already made a lot of classical characters, so I really look forward to his new comedy movie, which must be funny and attractive.Second, iVs said that his new movie will invite another super star, Nicole Kidman! They haven't worked in the same movie before, but Oscar prizes were conferred on both of them, which means they're the best artistic in the world! So there cooperation in this movie will be definitely gorgeous.& Please describe one of your happiest time in your life. The happiest time for me is that traveled to US with my best friend Jason last month. First, you know, it was the best chance for me to practice my spoken English. As an English major, this trip helped me put the knowledge I learnt into practice. I was so excited to talk with local Americans there and imitate their native accent, which was valuable experience.Second, Jason and I have visited so many tourist attractions in America, like the statue of liberty, the symbol of US, Yellow Stone Park, renowned universities, Hollywood, even shopping in the Fifth Avenue. Therefore, such trip broadened my horizon and enriched my knowledge.9. Describe a person that you,d like to know more. Why is this person. Examples and details. The person I like to know more is Nicole Kidman for the following reasons.First, Nicole is a really incredible actress in the world. Her famous movie Moulin Rouge imposes me great impression. I want to know how she acted so wild and sexyin this movie, which is a totally different figure from her in reality.Second, you know, Nicole was betrayed by her beloved ex・husband, Tom cruise, they divorced after 10・years marriage. But only 3 years later she won her first Oscar prize ! what a great achievement! So I want to know how she overcame such devastate and rebuilt herself both mentally and physically in such short time. That,s why I want to know more about her.10> Describe a personality have changed since you were a child .Explain how you changed this personality .Please include specific reasons and details in your responsePersonally speaking, since I was a child, I learnt to change myself from introvert and shy into humorous and outgoing.First, when I was young, I was afraid of talking in the public and wasn't brave enough to communicate with my classmates and teachers. 2020年托福口语模拟试题及答案(卷一)
2020年托福口语模拟试题及答案(卷一)While networking on the internet provides instant access to different groups and individuals, allowing us to interact with each other regardless of geological location or timeframe of availability, it also has some significant drawbacks.First, it's not always safe to network online. The interconnectivity of social networking sites is one of its biggest selling points, but it also comes with a serious drawback. If you're not careful, you can leave yourself open to stalkers, cyberbullying and other forms of harassment, as unwelcome individuals make contact with you through the site.Second, networking online can be addictive. If you allow it, social networking sites can completely consume your life. New friends requesting to be added, post updates, polls, games and links to countless different websites can turn a pleasant diversion into a significant expenditure of time. If left unchecked, this can create problems as “real”relationships suffer for the sake of virtual ones.

Task1 - If your parents accidentally
won a large amount of money, what do you think should be done with it?
Sample:
Well first, I come from a quite average family. If we suddenly have a lot of money, I think first, some of it
should be spent on upgrading our life insurances. Because no matter how rich a person is, it’s never wrong to save for a rainy day. Second, I have a young brother. Two sons can be great pressure for a normal couple in China. So if it’s possible, a great part of the money should be spent to invest in real estate. And finally, to speak for myself, I wish some of the money can be used for my further education in US. I’m a good student and have great plans, I would be thrilled if that money could release part of the economical burden
already set on my parents.
Task2 - Do you think college students should choose their majors soon as they are admitted, or should they choose majors in their second or third year in college?
Sample:
I think college students should make their major choices
in the second or third year. My reasons are as follows. First, when young people graduate from high school, what they have
got is only basic knowledge in whatever fields. Few of them know what their real interests and strong suits are. With one
to two year in college however, they get to have the basic
idea of higher education. Besides, aside from class and instructors, they get to know sophomores, juniors and seniors in college. With real conversation and survey, they will know whether they are being too ideal or too cautious choosing future academic fields.
