Jules: I blew it.
James: At the meeting with the Japanese investors?
Jules: Yeah.
James: How did you blew it?
Jules: I blew my nose.
James: Be serious. What went wrong at negotiation?
Jules: I blew my nose and insulted them.
James: What are you talking about?
Jules: When I blew my nose at the table …you know I got some kind of flu…the Japanese look at me real strange…
James: What went wrong? I don’t get it.
Jules: Goldberg took me aside after the meeting, you know he is really experience with Japanese…he said that it’s considered barbaric to blow nose into a handkerchief.
Jules: You couldn’t be serious…
James: I am. In Japan they only use disposable tissues, never a cloth handkerchief…considered unclean…
Jules: What if they don’t have tissues at a meeting?
James: You supply your own .Seems everyone in Japan carries around the little miniature packs of tissues in their coat pockets…
Jules: Did you blowing affect negotiation?
James: Well, if I add another ten infractions, keep breaking these Japanese rules…their cultural laws… it could add up to many kinds of disrespect or insult…
Jules: I wonder what Japanese do use handkerchief for…wiping their glasses…pocket squares?
