(Purpose: inspire students’ background informatio n about desert life and set a realistic reading environment for them)

1.Show them pictures and get them to think about what they would do when travelling to a desert?

2.Have them discuss with partners their feelings of a trip to a desert.

Step two Read for structure

(Purpose: To develop students’ abilities of organizing structures by going through the passage quickly to organize its’ structure and divide it into three parts in line with particular main ideas)

这节课的亮点在于通过层层推进、环环相扣的一系列活动设计,让学生梳理沙漠生活环境恶劣与作者精神上的孤独,并体会作者情感的变化,领悟作者父亲两行诗的寓意。并在充分阅读的基础上,联系续写段落与前文和续写两个段落之间的联系,创造性地表达自己的观点。不足在于部分学生课前预习不够充分,课堂进度较慢。
