Lesson 9
Ⅰ. Teaching Aims: The new words and vocabularies:
1. Vocabulary: hullo, mum, tea, ready, hungry, etc.
2. Sentence patterns: Are you hungry?
Yes, I am. / I’m not.
What’s for tea?
Ⅱ. Teaching aids: Video, sliders, tape-recorder, tape, tea, something for
eating and drinking
Ⅲ. Teaching procedure:
1. Greeting.
2. Review: Recite Lesson 7 together.
Practice the sentence patterns in Lesson 8.
3. New lesson:
1) Show the students the pictures and ask them: what can you see?
2) Listen and watch the video and ask them: what can you hear?
3) Listen to the tape picture by picture and repeat.
New words: Ready: OK
Tea: Show them the real thing
Hungry: Show them the action
4) Listen to the tape again and repeat. Then recite with the pictures.
5) Recite this lesson. All together and then in individuals.
6) Act this scene. .Give them 3minutes to prepare for the action in front Ⅳ. Homework: Listen to the tape and recite.

Ⅰ. Teaching Aims:
1. Vocabulary: thirsty, busy, tired, hot, cold.
2. Sentence patterns: Yes or No question and double question.
Ⅱ. Teaching aids: slides, the water, cup and so on.
Ⅲ. Teaching procedure:
1. Greeting.
2. Review: Recite lesson 9 all together and ask them some questions: Is
Sandy hungry? Is Sue hungry? …
3. New lesson:
1) Review the numbers from 1 to 12; Use the fingers or other objects.
2) The sentence patterns:
a.T: Look at the numb er 1. Look at Sandy, he’s hungry.
The new words: Hungry: We have learnt in lesson 9
Busy: Do the action for them: do this do that
Tired: do the action: I feel so tired so I want to
stay on the chair
Hot: take off the coat and fan myself.
Cold: put on the coat and scarf.

Yes, he is. /No, he isn’t.
c.Double question.
T: Is Sandy hungry or tired?
Sandy isn’t tired. He is hungry.
3. Activity
Invite six children to come to the front of the class and mine the new adjectives: busy, cold, hot, hungry, etc. Whisper to each child the action he is to perform. Members of the class must identify the actions,
T: What about Jenny? S1: she is hungry.
T: Good, what about Brian? S2: He is tired.
Ⅳ. Homework: talk about the pictures in pairs.

Ⅱ. Teaching aids: slides, pen, basket, ball, etc.
Ⅲ. Teaching procedure:
1. Greeting.
2. Review: Recite lesson 11 all together.
Ask two groups to act.
3. New lesson:
1) Review the numbers from 1 to 12; then teach 13 to 16.
2) Show the students some pictures and practice the sentence pattern
they have learnt.

3) Yes/No question with short answer and long answer.
4. Activity: A guessing game.
A student is invited to come to the front of class and is blindfolded. He has
to guess the identify of various members of the class who are called forward.

Blindfolded S1: it’s …
Class: No, it isn’t.
Blindfolded: It’s ….
Class: Yes, it is.
Ⅳ. Homework: talk about the pictures in pairs.
