Speaking of a company that has a host of employees, I am going to describe a locally listed firm, whose name is called Jingdong. That is an E-commerce company, which is quite similar to Ali. There is one near the community where I live. Many people in China are fond of using the services provided by this company. By the way, I got a friend who works in the branch near my home, so he often invites me to visit his workplace. It was mind-blowing that the first time I saw the layout of the main hall inside the building, which is so gigantic and majestic. Also, I had lunch in the canteen there with my friend, but experienced a long queue, and ended up waiting for more than half an hour. My friend told that this is very normal working in large companies. Although that is just a branch of Jingdong, it still has more than one thousand employees. One thing he has emphasized is that the salaries, as well as the welfare packages, are really good, so he is satisfied with his job. Long story short, I wish I could work in such a large corporation, with a decent job.

Since I go to school/work everyday by bicycles, so please let me just tell you about bicycles. Bicycle is the main transportation in China. As wellknown, there are hundreds of millions of people commute to work or school each day using bicycles. First of all, at the current earning level, most people can’t afford cars. But bicycles are cheap. Each family can easily afford to buy one or two. In addition to that, many people prefer to use bicycles even when they can afford to buy cars. Look, as you must have experienced here in China, traffic jam is a huge problem here, no matter it is a small town or a big city like Beijing. But if you ride a bicycle, it is small enough to let you squeeze through the traffic. Nevertheless, there are also disadvantages for bicycle riders, one of which is the safety issue. Though in some cities today like Beijing there are bicycle lanes for bicycle riders only, still in many other places bicycle riders have to compete with motor vehicles for their right of way on roads, which can be extremely dangerous. The other disadvantage is that bicycles are slow. If you live in a big city like Beijing, to go to a far place by bicycle is just too unrealistic. It’ll take forever. However, despite all these disadvantages, bicycle is still the most preferred transport in China. I also enjoy riding it, not just for transport, but also for exercise.
