My teacher kept saying how important it is to develop good habits, but all I could think about was my video game habits!The hardest part was using "should" to talk about healthy behaviors. Like "You should drink more water" or "I should get 10 hours of sleep each night." Sorry teacher, but I "should" be playing outside instead of sitting in class!For our project, we had to write a short story using all the new vocabulary and grammar from the unit. I wrote about analternate universe where kids don't have bedtimes and can eat pizza for every meal. My teacher really tried to make it fun and interactive for us.First, we learned a ton of new vocabulary words like "patent," "laboratory," "experiment," and lots of names of famous inventors. I could tell you who made the first lightbulb, but I'd rather not ruin the magic!Then we worked on using past tense and timelinewords to describe when things were invented and the process inventors went through. "The printing press was invented in 1440 by Johannes Gutenberg after many years of experimentation and failure." See, Mom, I was paying attention!For our project, we had to research a famous invention and do a presentation about it. I chose frozen pizza because, well, priorities. I described how scientists worked for years to make a pizza that could be frozen but still taste delicious when reheated. Frankly, I think they deserve a Nobel Prize!We also did a museum walk where everyone set up displays about their inventions and we could go around and learn from each other.
