The History of MAYDAY
• MAYDAY,a famous pop band in Taiwan,formed on March 29,1997 in Taipei.
There are five members in the band: a lead singer, Ashin;two guitarists, Monster and Stone; a bassist, Masa,and adrummer,Ming. Except for Ming, the other four members graduated from HSNU; they enjoyed the guiter club of HSNU and have enjoyed, played,and created rock and pop music ever since. MAYDAY has produced more than four albums since 1997 and all of their albums have been popular in Taiwan , Hong Kong, and China. Thay won both the 1999 best singer award and the best band award on January 10,2000. In November 2001,Ashin,Monster,and Masa went to serve in the army,and Stone went to England for further study ,so MAYDAY had to stop their performances for a while. All of their fans felt very sad and worried then. In August 2003,MAYDAY returned to the stage because all the five members got togeter again. Thousands of fans came to their concert. Their music is still powerful and inspires many people.

boys.They all come from Taiwan.Their songs are very popular,and they are well known in the young people.The singer is A Xin,he writes songs by himself.And Guan You,who wears a pair of glasses plays the drums.Guai Shou and Ma Sha play the bass.They are not only famous in China,but also in all the Aisa! • Taiwan boy band Mayday make music with a happy-go-lucky attitude. You may find their
music a bit noisy and childish but they do raise your spirits. This Saturday they are coming to Shanghai to deliver their 2005 Final Home Mayday Shanghai concert. “I hope she resembles a kipper” Mayday has recently released their new album “Contentment Just My Pride”. It has been six years since their debut, and the five boys think that it’s time to review their music careers. This album includes 15 popular songs from their previous albums and 6new singles. The band lead singer Ashin says the title of the album shows their thanks to their fans. Among new singles, “Kipper” was inspired from a dialogue in Stephen Chow’s film Shaolin Soccer: “If a person has no dreams, he is no better than a kipper.” Talking about his ideal girlfriend, Ashin says, “I hope she resembles a kipper, never rot, stay with me forever and goes well with rice！” “We fight!” A reporter once asked Mayday whether there were any conflicts between band members. “Well, we fight!” Ashin answered with a smile. “Just kidding. We’ve known one another for years so there shouldn’t be any problem. And if we do have different ideas on music, we will sit down and discuss them.” The best way to relax How did Mayday members spend their holidays? “We have no desire to travel around in holidays. The fact is, to us, the best way to relax is simply sleep! During holidays, Ashin sleeps 20 hours a day and spends the rest 4 resting. You know ,people get tired if they sleep too much…” Any sports activities? All band members are known as best sportsmen in terms of playing online games.

Mayday is different from other rock bands. MAYDAY's music has its soul. It can touch heart directly. They advocate peace and love. They never give up and tell us to go for our dreams . Myday do not like stars,they like our friends our teachers or parents. They tell us love,truth,dream,courage,and so on with their muisc. we can learn a lot from their music.
