After read Oliver Twist
Recently, I have read a book written by a world famous writer Charles Dickens and it is name is Oliver Twist. This well-known book tells us a vivid and moved story which has happened in the 19th century.
The leading character in this novel is Oliver who is an orphan. For a moment I feel a surge of sympathy for Oliver Twist. Besides, he possess- es an innocent and lively personality. He was born in a workhouse. Unfortunately, as soon as he arrived in this hard world his mother died then. In his nine years old, he began his long road of survival. One can imagine is that he suffered more. Nevertheless this had left no bitterness in his gentle souls, and all his lives he showed the mercy and kindness to others that God himself shows to all things that breathe.
From this book, we know that Oliver, Nancy and Rose all both kind-hearted. Their born environment is full of misery and sin, but they didn’t give up. What they keep in their mind is a pure soul and perseverance. As you can see, hards hips can’t let them down but to raise them up more powerful than before. However it is obvious that there are still some evil people exist in this world, in this novel, such as Fagin who is like a wily old fox, Monks who is a most brutal and treacherous fellow, and so on. On the contrary, witty and resolute man Mr. Brownlow helped Oliver a lot and adopted him as his son. In my eyes, this calls “the human nature”It also represents the true meaning of the love.
From all above, as fruit needs not only sunshine but cold nights and chilling showers to ripen it, so character needs not only joy but trial and difficulty to mellow it. No matter how bad environment it is, no matter how complex the world it is, we should maintain a kind heart and universal love show to others. Try to in pursuit of beauty; bring the world and other people joy or happiness.
