2009年12月英语六级写作真题及范文题目:Should parents send their kids to art class?1. 现在有不少家长送孩子参加各种艺术班;2. 对这种做法有人表示支持,也有人并不赞成;3. 我认为——Should parents send their kids to art classes?A child's world is supposed to be fresh and new and beautiful, full of wonder and excitement. Unfortunately, this is not the case for some kids, especially for those born and bred in cities ——their joys are dimmed and even lost because a majority of them are forced to attend various art classes. Some claim that it is beneficial for children's development. They might have their reasons because most parents are convinced that their kids are gifted gifts from the god. They presume that the earlier their children are exposed to arts, the more likely it is to find out the artistic potential hidden in them.Even if their children fail to become another child prodigy like Lang Lang or Li Yundi, the interests in arts, say, in music, cultivated in childhood will be of great value in their whole life.In spite of the possible benefits mentioned, I, like others, am strongly against it. The major harm is that it might deprive children of their pleasure to play after school.Faced with competition and contest for better universities, most children are buried in piles of homework. Forcing them to art classes will leave them less time to enjoy the beauty of the nature or to find their talent in things they are really interested in.To sum up, childhood is a time for children to play as they wish. Rather than cramming knowledge, it is more important to pave the way for their desire to know than to put them on a diet of facts they are not ready to assimilate.2009年6月英语六级作文真题范文(新东方版)On the Importance of a NameAccording to the Bible, it is the almighty God who gave names to everything he created: "he named the light ‘Day' and the darkness ‘Night'". In fact, a name is a word or phrase that man uses to denote and identify a specific person, place or thing. There is no inexorable correlation between the sign and "the signified". For this reason, some claim that names are not so vital as they are supposed to be. However, I am fully convinced that they are of great importance.Take the name of a person as an example. It is known to all that a person's name is divided into two parts: given name and surname. The given name is the name our parents assign us. We ourselves might change it later in our life. Usually, when a name is given, it contains a lot of information. Say, "li" in the name of some Chinese females shows that we wish them to "beautiful" while "wei" in the names of some males reveals that we expect them to be "great" in their future life.As to the surname or family name, it is even more important, so important that some people may sacrifice their life for it. Originally, man had no such a name. But ever since a certain name was given, each member of the family carries it wherever he goes. Rather than merely a sign, it is the root from which we can trace back to our ancestor, the tie that helps bind us to other members of the same clan, the dignity most people hope to live for.Apart from the name of a person, that of a place or thing is also significant in that it embodies history and culture. All in all, though names are assigned artificially, man is not free when giving names. But God is.2008.12.20 英语六级作文真题及范文(新东方)How to Improve Students’ Mental Health1. 大学生心理健康很重要2. 为此,学校可以3. 我们自己应该In modern society, people are destined to cope with a lot ofpressure, from either outer world or inner will. Some folks prefer electric ones to textbooks. Such books are obviously handy and convenient; and thanks to their multi-functions. they are conductive to their read ers, who can obtain much relatively updated information, However, every coin has two sides. Nowadays, fewer people has time sitting beforce computer reading E-books. Even if time is available, those so-called devices named packable readers may also be restricted by virtue of lacking electricity. When it comes to traditional books, they also have their own superiori ties. Many individuals often maintain that they are more convenient than e-books, for people have no restrictions in using them. whenever you are or whenever you are or wherever you go, you can bring some books for reading. On the other hand, traditional books are more available because they are sold in various bookshops. However, although traditional books possess such advantages, they also have some deficiencies. For instance, traditional books are not easily portable so it is inconvenient for people to carry more once they need and they are vulnerable to water and fire. Therefore, my view is that we should utilize the e-books approprately, as well as the traditional textbooks because of their diverse functions in our practical daily life, and one thing that we should bear in my mind is that great importance should be attached to both of them. In a sense only when their relationships are balanced could their utilities and functions are brought into full play.。

英语六级作文历年题目Certainly, here are some past writing prompts for the English College Level Examination Program (CET-6) alongwith sample responses:1. 2019年英语六级作文题目,网络购物(Online Shopping)。
Sample Response:Online shopping has become increasingly popular in recent years due to its convenience and accessibility. With just a few clicks, people can purchase items from aroundthe world without leaving their homes. However, this trend also raises concerns about its impact on traditional retail and consumer behavior.Firstly, online shopping offers unparalleled convenience. Consumers can browse through a wide range of products and compare prices within minutes. This saves time and effort compared to visiting physical stores.Additionally, online platforms often provide detailed product descriptions and reviews, helping consumers make informed decisions.Furthermore, online shopping has transformed the retail landscape. Traditional brick-and-mortar stores face intense competition from e-commerce giants like Amazon and Alibaba. Many retailers have embraced online channels to reach a wider audience and stay competitive. However, this shift has led to the decline of traditional shopping districts and malls.Despite its benefits, online shopping also presents challenges. Cybersecurity concerns, such as data breaches and identity theft, remain prevalent. Moreover, the rise of counterfeit goods and fraudulent sellers tarnishes the reputation of online marketplaces. To address these issues, governments and businesses must implement robust regulations and security measures. In conclusion, online shopping has revolutionized the way we shop, offering convenience and accessibility. However, it also poses challenges that need to be addressed. By promoting consumer awareness and implementing effective regulations, we can ensure a safe and enjoyable online shopping experience for all.2. 2018年英语六级作文题目,人工智能(Artificial Intelligence)。

Naturally, it matters a great deal to our communities that we have a sense of responsibility towards them.People living in the same area should be considered a group under an obligation to create a comfortable living environment for the whole community. Reaching this goal requires a sense of responsibility among all residents, which encourages them to start with small steps, such as to avoid making excessive noise that disturbs their neighbors. Moreover, a sense of collective responsibility among us students contributes to a warm and friendly atmosphere, where we respect and help each other, as well as a strong communal sense of belonging. It will ultimately be conducive to our academic and moral progress. After we graduate from college and get employed, we will find ourselves in a new community made up of colleagues. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.参考答案:Home should be where people feel secure and comfortable. Maintaining harmony at home is essential for the well-being of an individual, a couple and their offspring, and even the society. But many are being plagued by family discord, a problem that boils down to the lack of a sense of family responsibility.Everyone has certain roles to take on in his or her family. Parents are expected to ensure their children are well-nourished and well-educated, helping them build a strong body and great character. We college students also need to take our responsibility as adult children. Being independent of our parents as early as possible lightens the financial burden on them. Learning to be mature and sensible can prevent us from becoming a constant source of worry to them. Fulfilling our filial duty to the best of our abilities allows them to enjoy life in midlife years, retirement and the twilight years. In brief, a sense of responsibility among family members is a prerequisite for a warm and loving family. Often far away fromhome, we may start by keeping in contact with our parents, as a means to meet our obligations as part of our family.2018年12月英语六级作文真题第1套:如何平衡工作和休闲写作真题:Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay on how to balance work and leisure. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.参考答案:How to Balance Work and LeisureJust as the old saying goes, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy", which illustrates the importance and necessity of keeping a balance between work and leisure. However, in todays fast-paced work culture, its difficult for most people to successfully maintain a good balance between the two.As for me, some tips can contribute to achieving the balance. First of all, you should develop efficient working habits, because only in this way can you squeeze out some leisure time. It requires you to devote your full attention to the task at hand and complete daily work efficiently. Second, in order to relieve the fatigue and stress, its vital to schedule one thing that you are interested in each day and set aside some time for relaxation. Last but not least, for those workaholics, please keep in mind that if you work hard, you shouldnt feel guilty when you spend time on personal leisure, for entertainment is also a part of life.To conclude, work and leisure complement each other, so when you get tired and bored with your daily grind, try to take some time off work to relax yourself.2017年12月英语六级作文真题第2套:理解别人写作真题:Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to writean essay commenting on the saying "Seek to understand others, and you will be understood." You can cite examples to illustrate your views. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.参考答案:The Power of Mutual UnderstandingA host of facts in our daily life have proved that lack of understanding is a critical factor leading to disagreement among people, which makes it difficult for people to be on friendly terms with others. Thats why the phrase "mutual understanding" is emphasized. Just as the remark goes, "Seek to understand others, and you will be understood."The significance of mutual understanding cannot be underestimated. On the one hand, mutual understanding serves as a prerequisite for learning progress, career success and happy life. If we understand each other and are willing to reach agreement, we can be empowered to summon multi-forces to grease the wheels of everything. On the other hand, mutual understanding is the lubricant of human relations. For those who wish to build lasting relationships and achieve civilized intercourse, mutual understanding is a foolproof strategy. To sum up, mutual understanding is the basis of our relationships with others and we would be socially idiotic without it. To avoid this, all we need is our utmost effort to seek to understand others.2017年12月英语六级作文真题第1套:尊重别人写作真题:Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the saying "Respect others, and you will be respected." You can cite examples to illustrate your views. youshould write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.参考答案:As human beings, we all crave the respect of others, which is coded into our DNA. If you show your respect for others, you are more likely to gain their respect. Just as the saying goes, "Respect others, and you will be respected". It indicates the great significance of respecting others in our daily life.First and foremost, respecting others gives them confidence and encouragement, especially those who are not as good as you. Your respect can help them become upbeat and active, and even enhance their self-assurance. In addition, polite words help improve your interpersonal relationships to a large extent. As mentioned above, if your respect proves to be effective, people will show their respect for you, too, and it will benefit your social intercourse. Last but not least, respecting others is a symbol of high quality, which shows ones good upbringing.Taking what has been discussed into consideration, its indisputable that all people are fond of being respected. It is so important for us to show our respect for others. Only in this way, can we earn the respect of others.2017年6月英语六级作文真题第1套:留学还是国内大学写作真题:Directions: Suppose you are asked to give advice on whether to attend college at home or abroad, write an essay to state your opinion. You are required to write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.参考范文:Living in a world which is full of changes and challenges,we are confronted with new problems every single day. Of all the issues, one might disturb the students the most, and it is if wehave two options: to attend college at home or abroad. As for me, I prefer to choose the latter. Why ,you may wonder , should I would like to study abroad ? The reasons responsible for it can be listed as follows.Among the most important reasons cited by people is that to study abroad, directly or indirectly, can not only broaden our eyes and enrich our life experience, which is of great importance in one’s growth. What’s more,to attend college abroad can give us an independent personality and more globalized vision towards the world, if it were not for those two attributes, how could we achieve great goals in this dog-eat-dog world .Above all, in such a society where emphasis, more often than not , is laid on quality of education and information, to study abroad , if we had the chance, must be a good choice. To study abroad, so at least it seems to me, is preferable for those who have the ability to afford the fees, in the process of which we will develop an innovative thought mode .As a proverb goes, there is no difficulty that an innovative thought mode can not solve, no door that an innovative thought mode can not open, no mountain that an innovative thought mode can not surmount.2016年12月英语六级作文真题第1套:创新写作真题:Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay on innovation. Your essay should include the importance of innovation and measures to be taken to encourage innovation. You are required to write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.参考答案:It is universally acknowledged that innovation refers to being creative, unique and different. In fact, today it is impossibly difficult for us to image a 21st century without innovation. We should place a high value on innovation firstly because innovative spirit can enable an individual to ameliorate himself, so he can be equipped with capacity to see what others cannot see, be qualified for future career promotion, and be ready for meeting the forthcoming challenges. What’s more, we ought to attach importance to the role played by innovation in economic advancement. Put it another way, in this ever-changing world, innovation to economic growth is what water is to fish. T o sum up, if innovation misses our attention in any possible way, we will suffer a great loss beyond imagination. In order to encourage innovation, it is wise for us to take some feasible measures. For example, mass media should greatly publicize the significance of creative spirit and encourage the public to cultivate awareness of innovation.Besides, those who manage to innovate should be awarded generous prize. Though there is a long way ahead to go, I am firmly certain that the shared efforts will be paid off.2015年12月英语六级写作真题范文:网络在线阅读写作真题:Directions:For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay based on thepicture below。

2009年6月、12月英语六级真题及答案(无听力)

2009年6月英语六级考试真题与答案Part I writing (30 minutes)Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay entitled On the Importance of a Name. You should write at least 150 words following the outline given below.1. 有人说名字或名称很重要2. 也有人觉得名字或名称无关紧要3. 我认为例文On the Importance of a NameThere is no denying the fact that it is a controversial topic whether names are important or not. Some hold the positive view. They claim that a good name, or a name that can be easily remembered, can bring one a lot more opportunities than others. Some Chinese may also believe that a name designed according to the traditional theory of five elements can bring good luck.Others, however, hold the opposite view. They argue that a name is nothing but a code to distinguish one from another. A person “good” name may not be as successful as the name indicates. In the same way, a person who has a common or casually given name can also achieve tremendous success.Personally, I believe that both sides have something right, so we should not go to extremes. On the one hand, we have to admit that a well designed name can help a person to some extent. On the other hand, we should not exaggerate the effect of a name on a person’s fate. Anyway, a person’s success mainly depends on his hard work and desirable personalities.Part II Reading Comprehension (Skimming and Scanning) (15 minutes)Helicopter Moms vs. Free-Range Kids Would you let your fourth-grader ride public transportation without an adult? Probably not. Still, when Lenore Sleazy, a columnist for the New York Sun, wrote about letting her son take the subway alone to get back to "Long story short :my son got home from a department store on the Upper East Side, she didn’t expect to get hit with a wave of criticism from readers.“Long story short: My son got home, overjoyed with independence,” Sleazy wrote on April 4 in the New York Sun. “Long story longer: Half the people I’vet told this episode to now want to turn on in for child abuse. As if keeping kids under lock and key and cell phone and careful watch is the right way to rear kids. It’s not. It’s debilitating (使虚弱)—for us and for them.”Online message boards were soon full of people both applauding and condemning Sleazy’s decision to let her son go it alone. She wound up defending herself on CNN (accompanied by her son) and on popular blogs like the buffing ton post, where her follow-u p piece was ironically headlined “More from America’s Worst Mom.”The episode has ignited another one of those debates that divides parents into vocal opposing camps. Are Modern parents needlessly overprotective, or is the world a more complicated and dangerous place than it was when previous generations were allowed to wander about unsupervised? From the “she’s an irresponsible mother” camp came: “Shame on you for being so careless about his safety,”in Comments on the buffing ton post. And there was this from a mother of four: “How would you have felt if he did’t come home?” But Sleazy got a lot of support, too, with women and men writing in with stories about how they were allowed to take trips all by them selves at seven or eight. She also got heaps of praise for bucking the “helicopter parent” trend: “Good for this Mom,” one commenter wrote on the buffing ton post. “This is a much-needed reality check.”Last week, encouraged by all the attention, Sleazy started her own blog—Free Range, kids—promoting the idea that modern children need some of the same independence that her generation had. In the good old days nine-year-old baby boomers rode their bikes to school, walked to the store, took buses—and even subways—all by themselves. Her blog, she says, is dedicated to sensible parenting. “At Free Range Kids, we believe in safe kids. We believe in car seats and safety belts. We do NOT believe that every time school-age children go outside, they need a security guard.”So why are some parents so nervous about letting their children out of their sight? Are cities and towns less safe and kids more vulnerable to crimes like child kidnap and sexual abuse than they were in previous generations? Not exactly. New York City, for instance, is safer than it’s ever been; it’s ranked 36th in crime among all American cities. Nationwide, stringer kidnaps are extremely rare; there’s a one-in-a-million chance a child will be taken by a stranger, according to the Justice Department. And 90 percent of sexual abuse cases are committed by someone the child knows. Mortality rates from all causes, including disease and accidents, for American children are lower now than they were 25 years’ ago. According to Child Trends, a nonprofit research group, between 1980 and 2003 death rates dropped by 44 percent for children aged 5 to 14 and 32 percent for teens aged 15 to 19.Then there’s the whole question of whether modern parents are more watchful and nervous about safety than previous generations. Yes, some are. Part of the problem is that with wall to wall Internet and cable news, every missing child case gets so much ai rtime that it’s not surprising even normal parental anxiety can be amplified. And many middle-class parents have gotten used to managing their children’s time and shuttling them to various enriching activities, so the idea of letting them out on their own can seem like a risk. Back in 1972, when many of today’s parents were kids, 87 percent of children who lived within a mile of school walked or biked every day. But today, the Centers for Disease Control report that only 13 percent of children bike, walk or otherwise t themselves to school. The extra supervision is both a city and a suburb phenomenon. Parents are worried about crime, and they are worried about kids getting caught in traffic in a city that’s not used to pedestrians. On the other hand, there are still plenty of kids whose parents give them a lot of independence, by choice or by necessity. The After School Alliance finds that more than 14 million kids aged 5 to 17 are responsible for taking care of themselves after school. Only 6.5 million kids participate in organized programs. “Many children who have working parents have to take the subway or bus to get to school. Many do this by themselves because they have no other way to get to the schools,” sa ys Dr. Richard Gallagher, director of the Parenting Institute at the New York University Child Study Center. For those parents who wonder how and when they should start allowing their kids more freedom, there’s no clear-cut answer. Child experts discourage a one-size-fits-all approach to parenting. What’s right for Sleazy’s nine-year-old could be inappropriate for another one. It all depends on developmental issue, maturity, and the psychological and emotional makeup of that child. Several factors must be taken into account, says Gallagher. “The ability to follow parent guidelines, the child’s level of comfort in handling such situations, and a child’s general judgment should be weighed.”Gallagher agrees with Sleazy that many nine-year-olds are ready for independence like taking public transportation alone. “At certain times of the day, on certain routes, the subways are generally safe for these children, especially if they have grown up in the city and have been taught how to be safe, how to obtain help if they are concerned for their safety, and how to avoid unsafe situations by being watchful and on their toes.”But even with more traffic and fewer sidewalks, modern parents do have one advantage their parents did’t: the cell phone. Being able to check in with a child anytime goes a long way toward relieving parental anxiety and may help parents loosen their control a little sooner. Sleazy got a lot of criticism because she didn’t give her kid her cell phone because she thought he’d lose it and wanted him to learn to go it alone without depending on mom—a major principle of free-range parenting. But most parents are more than happy to use cell phones to keep track of their kids. And for those who like the idea of free-range kids but still struggle with their inner helicopter parent, there may be a middle way. A new generation of GPS cell phones with tracking software make it easier than ever to follow a child’s every movement via the Internet—without seeming to interfere or hover. Of course, when they go to college, they might start objecting to being monitored as they’re on parole (假释).1. Nowadays with the help of GPS cell phones, parents can, from a distance, track their children’s every moment Movements.Part III ListenningPart IV Reading Comprehension (Reading in Depth) (25 minutes)Section AThere is nothing new about TV and fashion magazines giving girls unhealthy ideas about how thin they need to be in order to be considered beautiful. What is surprising is the method psychologists at the University of Texas have come up with to keep girls from developing eating disorders. Their main weapon against super skinny (role) models: a brand of civil disobedience dubbed “body activism.”Since 2001, more than 1,000 high school and college students in the U.S. have participated in the Body Project, which works by getting girls to understand how they have been buying into the notion that you have to be thin to be happy or successful. After critiquing (评论) the so-called thin ideal by writing essays and role-playing with their peers, participants are directed to come up with and execute small, nonviolent acts. They include slipping notes saying “Love your body the way it is” into dieting books at stores like Borders and writing letters to Mattel, makers of the impossibly proportioned Barbie doll.According to a study in the latest issue of the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, the risk of developing eating disorders was reduced 61% among Body Project participants. And they continued to exhibit positive body-image attitudes as long as three years after completing the program, which consists, of four one-hour sessions. Such lasting effects may be due to girls’ realizing not only how they were being influenced but also who was benefiting from the societal pressure to be thin. “These people who promote the perfect body really don’t care about you at all,” says Kelsey Herten, a high school junior and Body Project veteran in Eugene, Oregon. “They purposefully make you feel like less of a person so you’ll buy their stuff and they’ll make money.”注意:此部分试题请在答题卡2上作答。
