await vt.

意：If you await someone or something, you wait for them.

例：Very little was said as we awaited the arrival of the chairman.

wait vt./vi

意：You spend some time doing very little, because you cannot act until that thing happens or that person arrives.

例：I walk to a street corner and wait for the school bus.
