1 .at/ in
at 表示一个点(或小地方)。

如：
at your school at home at Huaxing Clothes Store
in 表示一个范围（或大地方）。

如：
in Paris/Beijing/China in the park
注意：大小的概念有时是相对的。

如：“在学校里”可以说“in school”或“at school”
2.on/ above/ over
on 表示“在……上面”（接触表面）
above 表示“在……上方”（不接触表面）
over 表示“在……正上方”（不接触表面）
例：The book is on the desk.
例：Our classroom is above theirs. (注：画图说明)
例：The light is over the desk.
3.in front of / in the front of
in front of 表示“在……前面”
in the front of 表示“在……前部”（即表示在内部的前部）
例：The teacher is standing in the front of the classroom.
例： A tall boy is sitting in front of me.
4.behind/ at the back of
behind 表示“在……后面”（范围之外）
at the back of 有两个意思
1）表示“在……后面”（范围之外），此时相当于behind。

2）表示“在……的后部”(范围之内)。

例：There is a garden behind the house.
例：There is a garden at the back of the house.
例：Bill sits at the back of the classroom.
5.in/ on
in 表示“在……内”on 表示“在……上”但表示“在……上”时，不是都用“on”，有时须用“in”。

在树上：in the tree 用于指逗留在树上的鸟.人等。

on the tree 用于指生长在树上的叶子.果实。

在墙上：in the wall 用于指窗户.钉子.洞孔等镶嵌入墙内的东西on the wall 用于指地图.画像等悬挂.张贴于墙上的东西
在报上：in the newspaper 用于指报上的内容
on the newspaper 用于指放在报纸上的东西，如眼镜等例：There is a good news in today's newspaper.
例：There is a bird in the tree.
例：There is a map on the wall.
