What comes to mind when you think of the northern European country of Finland?

Go bird watching

Finland is home to a huge population of birds. The country even has birds that are hard to find in Europe and other parts of the world. Finland, in other words, is a bird watcher's paradise, especially during bird migration (迁徙) season, which happens in May in Southern Finland. Bird watching is popular in national parks and in the deepest parts of the countryside.

Go skiing

In central Finland, which receives more snow than other pa rts of the country, you'll find 31 ski resorts (圣地). The longest slope is in Koli; it has a length of 1.050 meters. You can go downhill skiing any time between late November and April. If you want to try downhill skiing in southern Finland, there is a choi ce of 26 different ski resorts. The downhill skiing season here runs from December to early April.

Try ice fishing

When the frozen lakes in Finland are strong enough, you can almost predict what Finns are going to do next: dress up for the cold weather, and sit by the mid-lakes to catch fish from the icy waters. When you're in Finland during this period, and if you're a fishing lover, make sure to join the Finns in this famous winter pastime. Finland has a lot of lakes, which means there are plenty of places where you can try ice fishing.

Disney films are full of magical storyline(故事情节), heroic characters and happy endings. In reality, this positive attitude helped to make the Disney Empire (帝国) successful. But how did it start?

Walt Disney was always passionate (热情的) about art. As a child, he often drew animals, and at school he made his friends happy by telling them stories and using the blackboard to draw illustration s (插画). By the time he was in high school, Disney had decided to become an artist. He took night classes at the Chicago Art Institute and was soon chosen to be the cartoonist for the school newspaper.

But art wasn't Disney's only passion. He loved his coun try very much. In the school newspaper, he often drew cartoons to support it. He left school at 16 to join the army. However, he was refused because he was too young. He worked as an ambulance driver for a while. But finally decided to follow his dream of becoming a cartoonist.

His first company failed but he was hopeful and started again. He soon impressed the cartoon industry with his creativity. This encouraged him to draw new cartoons, which included his most famous creation, Mickey Mouse.

Disney soon became a famous person in Hollywood. In 1932 he won a special Academy Award for the creation of Mickey Mouse. He also created new characters such as Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto. Soon after, he started making cartoon films. His first film, Snow White and th e Seven Dwarfs, was a hit. But this was just the start. He made many more successful films including classics such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Peter Pan.
