The activity emerged during people's enjoyment of lanterns in the Song Dynasty (960-1279). As riddle guessing is interesting and full of wisdom, it has become popular among all social strata.
On the night, except for magnifice nt lanterns, fireworks form a beautiful scene. Most families spare some fire works from the Spring Festival and le t them off in the Lantern Festival. So me local governments will even orga nize a fireworks party. On the night w hen the first full moon enters the Ne w Year, people become really intoxic ated by the imposing fireworks and b right moon in the sky.
