英语四种文体篇章分析
Definition: To narrate is to give an account of an event or series of events. In its broadest sense, narrative includes stories, real or imaginary, biographies, histories, news items, and narrative poems.Narrative often goes hand in hand with description. When one tells a story, one describes its setting and characters. On the other hand, accounts of actions may be necessary to the description of a person or a scene. When we plan a narrative,we should consider five aspects:purposes, selection of details, context, organization, and point of view.

Transitional Sentences and Conjunctions
The last sentence in first paragraph: My plan was to keep my ears open and my mouth shut and hope no one would notice I was a freshman. The first sentence in second paragraph: With that thought in mind, I raised my head, squared my shoulders, and set out in the direction of my dorm, glancing ( and then ever so discreetly) at the campus map clutched in my hand. “That” refers to “my plan”. It makes a comparison between first paragraph and second paragraph.
My classroom is very clean and tidy。

Introduction1.Interest drawing material.2.Thesis statement3.3.Transitional sentenceBody(One or more paragraphs)1. (Transitional sentence or phrase)2. Topic sentence.3. Developments.4. (Transitional sentence)Ending1. (Transitional sentence or phrase )2. Conclusion, summary, restatement of the thesis, etc.
主题陈述的特征是一个需要发展支持,可以而且实际上也被文章的主体部分发展支持的一个论断或陈述(a statement that requires development or support, one that can be, and is practically covered by the body of the essay)。

英语作文4种文体类型
英语作文4种文体类型Writing is a complex and multifaceted skill that can take many forms. In the English language, there are four primary types of writing styles that authors and communicators can utilize to convey their messages effectively. These four styles are narrative, descriptive, expository, and persuasive. Each style has its own unique characteristics and serves a distinct purpose in the realm of written expression. The narrative writing style is perhaps the most familiar and widely recognized form of written communication. Narratives tell a story, guiding the reader through a sequence of events, characters, and plot developments. Narratives can be fictional, drawing from the author's imagination, or they can be non-fictional, recounting real-life experiences and occurrences. Regardless of the subject matter, narratives are characterized by their use of chronological structure, character development, and the incorporation of dialogue and sensory details to immerse the reader in the story. The primary purpose of narrative writing is to entertain, enlighten, or emotionally engage the audience.Descriptive writing, on the other hand, focuses on the vivid and detailed portrayal of a specific person, place, object, or experience. The goal of descriptive writing is to paint a vivid picture in the reader's mind, engaging their senses and evoking a strong emotional response. Descriptive writers use rich, evocative language, including figurative expressions, to create a sensory-rich experience for the reader. This style of writing is often used in creative writing, such as poetry and short stories, but it can also be employed in more practical contexts, such as travel writing or product descriptions. The expository writing style is primarily concerned with informing and educating the reader. Expository texts aim to explain a topic, provide factual information, or analyze a concept in a clear and organized manner. This style of writing is often found in academic essays, research papers, news articles, and instructional materials. Expository writing is characterized by its use of logical organization, the presentation of evidence and supporting details, and the objective and impartial tone adopted by the writer. The primary purpose of expository writing is to increase the reader's understanding of a particular subject matter. Finally, the persuasive writing style is employed when the author's goal is to influence the reader's beliefs, attitudes, or actions. Persuasive writing utilizes a range of rhetorical techniques, such as the use of logical arguments, the presentation of compellingevidence, and the strategic use of emotional appeals, to sway the reader's opinion. Persuasive writing can be found in political speeches, opinion editorials, advertisements, and argumentative essays. The primary purpose of persuasive writing is to convince the reader to adopt the writer's perspective or to take a specific course of action. While each of these writing styles has its own distinct characteristics, it is important to note that they are not mutually exclusive. In fact, many successful written works often incorporate elements of multiple writing styles to achieve their desired effect. For example, a narrative essay may include descriptive passages to enhance the reader's understanding of the story, while an expository article may incorporate persuasive techniques to strengthen the author's argument. Moreover, the choice of writing style often depends on the specific context and the intended audience. Different situations may call for different approaches to written communication, and effective writers are able to adapt their style to suit the needs of the particular situation. In conclusion, the four primary writing styles in English – narrative, descriptive, expository, and persuasive – each serve a unique purpose and offer writers a diverse range of tools to communicatetheir ideas effectively. By understanding the characteristics and applications of these writing styles, writers can develop a more nuanced and versatile approach to the art of written expression, allowing them to engage their readers in meaningful and impactful ways.。
