Read it thoroughly before using the equipment or beginning any maintenance on it.SPECIFICATIONSStryker reserves the right to change specifications without notice.WARNINGThe 500XL is equipped with a hospital grade plug for protection against shock hazard. It must be plugged directly into a properly grounded 3–prong receptacle. Beds manufactured for special voltages such as 220 volts are equipped with a step–down transformer, and the plug should be replaced with one compatible with your wall receptacle. Grounding reliability can be achieved only when a hospital grade receptacle is used. WARNING / CAUTION / NOTE DEFINITIONThe words WARNING, CAUTION and NOTE carry special meanings and should be carefully reviewed.WARNINGThe personal safety of the patient or user may be involved. Push on the bed to ensure the brakes are securely locked. Always engage the brakes unless the bed is being moved. Injury could result if the bed moves while a patient is getting on or off the bed.Unpacking and Initial Set–Up InstructionsUNPACKING INSTRUCTIONSRefer to unpacking instructions located on outside of marked crate.INITIAL SET–UP AND OPERATIONAL CHECKThe pendant controller has been disconnected from the electrical/pneumatic controller prior to shipment to ensure pressure equalization at various altitudes.To equalize the pneumatic subsystem and prepare for operation:1. Connect power cord to electrical receptacle. One pneumatic tube (white) has been left connected to oper-ate the head panel. Should the elevation be such that the pendant control for the head panel does not work, use the hand crank to elevate the head panel.CAUTIONIf the altitude is greater than 2,000 feet above sea level, the head panel may automatically rise to its full height.2. Disconnect power cord from electrical receptacle.3. The pneumatic manifold is located on the underside of the head panel. Disconnect the white tubing, thenreconnect the white tubing and all other tubes. Match colors (yellow/yellow, blue/blue, etc.). Be sure to fully insert and secure tubes to prevent air leaks and possible malfunctions.4. Connect power cord to electrical receptacle and check operation of pendant controller: BED UP andDOWN; HEAD UP and DOWN; FOOT UP and DOWN; CHAIR; TILT.Removable Foot End Mattress I.V. Pole Storage ClipHand Pendant ControlBASE PEDAL OPERATIONThe Brake/Steer pedals are located on the base on both sides ofthe bed. The functions are clearly marked on the pedals.OPERATING THE FOOT PANS/LEG RESTS BAABCDD E1. T o remove foot end mattress assembly, grasp the handle on the front of the mattress assembly and push the mattress forward so it disengages from the brackets. The mattress assembly can then be lifted away from the bed.2. T o position the foot pan section (A), pull down on the knob under the pan (see illustration page 4), grasp the foot rest section (B) and rotate outward. There are holes in the foot pan for the knob to lock the pan into various positions.3. To position the foot rest section (B), lift upward by the front push bar and slide foot rest along slotted section of foot pan. Lower foot rest so it engages in desired slot on foot pan. Once the patient is positioned, the foot rests and pans can be adjusted for maximum access and for patient comfort.4. T o use the leg rests (C) instead of the foot pans, insert the rests into the receptacles and tighten the knobs(D) to hold them secure. T o position the leg rests, loosen knob (E) and rotate the leg support to the desired angle. Tighten the knob to hold the rest in place. The leg rests can be stored under the foot pans if the bed is equipped with the storage option.OPERATING SIDERAILSTo lower the siderail, pull out on the latch and guide the siderail down. T o raise the siderail, lift up on the rail until the latch locks to hold the siderail in place.USING GRASPING HANDLESThere are two patient grasping handles, one on each side of the litter(see bed illustration page 4).To use the patient grasping handles, pull the handle up until full height isreached.For storage, push the handle fully down.USING I.V. POLEThe I.V. pole is stored in a clip on the side of the litter. T o use the I.V. pole, insert it into the socket on the litter. Turn the upper tube to loosen it, raise or lower it to the desired height and turn the upper tube until it is tight and the pole is secure.USING MANUAL MOTOR CRANKIf there is loss of electricity to the bed, there is a manual motor crank stored in clips on the back of the head-board. Center the notch in the end of the crank on the roll pin on the motor assembly and crank to the desiredheight.BEDUP DOWNUSING HAND PENDANT CONTROLNOTEDual hand control pendants are optional.62HEADHEAD BED BED CHAIR TILT FOOT FOOT1. Press to raise bed height.2. Press to lower bed height.3. Press to raise Fowler.4. Press to lower Fowler.5. Press to activate the “Chair ” position.6. Press to activate the “Tilt ” position.7. Press to raise foot section.8. Press to lower foot section.INSTALLING/REMOVING THE LABOR BAR1.Grasp the labor bar on each side of the covered gripping area on the bar.2.Stand at the foot end of the bed facing the headboard and slide the labor bar into the labor bar socketsuntil the bar positions securely onto the socket locking pin. Verify the bar is securely installed. Refer to the label shown below for reference.3.Verify the bar is angled toward the foot end of the bed.4.To remove the labor bar from the bed, lift and pull the labor bar out smoothly and evenly to avoid binding.Store in a convenient location.USING THE LABOR BARWARNINGTo ensure patient safety and security, positioning the pregnant woman’s feet beyond the front edge of the foot pans is not recommended. Do not use the labor bar without the foot section mattress in place.To ensure product stability, use the Stryker Adel labor bar only on beds manufactured by Stryker.The labor bar should be used if the pregnant woman has been in the active phase of second stage labor for 20–30 minutes without making significant progress, or immediately upon reaching complete cervical dilation if it is desired for maternal comfort.With the bed in the chair position, have the pregnant woman grasp the bar and pull herself into a squatting position to practice, if possible, before her pushing stage begins so she will be comfortable with the usage of the bar.If the pregnant woman hasn’t practiced using the squatting position, use heel wedges to provide support for unstretched tendons, muscles, and ligaments while still allowing weight to be placed on the whole foot. Delivery may take place in the squatting position or the labor bar can be removed at crowning if the foot section is to be removed for delivery.WarrantyLimited Warranty:Stryker Medical Division warrants to the original purchaser that its products should be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year after date of delivery. There is an anti-slipper at the bottom of leg to stop the crib moving.It can be adjusted in 2 positions.3. The crib can be adjusted to 6 different height positions. In order to adjust the height, press the adjustment lever down and adjust the crib to the desiredposition (fig 11). Repeat this operation on the opposite side. Add the nylon washer and screw at the top of the rail on both ends but do not yet tighten all the way. First, raise and lower the railseveral times to allow the slide rods to align themselves in the crib eyes. Then fasten thescrew at the top of the slide rod firmly. 但是我国目前婴儿产品知识普及力度不够，消费者对选择什么样的婴儿床存在分歧和疑惑，不能正确挑选安全、环保、舒适的婴儿床，最后只能按照自己喜好和习惯来挑选，这样势必会给宝宝带来极大的安全隐患。
对于婴儿床生产如此严谨的美国，近些年仍在不断的更新和修订婴儿床生产标准，主要是因为每年仍有50-60名婴儿死亡，受伤害事故高达9000多起，国内婴儿安全事故更是高于美国几十倍之多。
安全已经是选床的第一要素，没有比宝宝安全更加重要的事情了，给您家的宝贝挑一款安全的婴儿床吧！我们应该如何识别一款婴儿床是安全的呢？（1）婴儿床安全知识每一款婴儿床都要符合行业最低安全标准（欧洲EN716-1和美国ASTM标准），主要标准包括：①款式设计符合安全标准②沉重结构符合安全标准③材质使用符合安全标准。
具体概括内容如下：知识点1：外观设计中床头不能有超过3/8英寸空隙，避免宝宝板条间的栏杆卡住，如果您购买的是床头软包床，注意将软包薄膜去除，避免孩子手抓吞食。
知识点2：护栏间距应该在52-58mm之间，避免因缝隙过大或过小将宝贝手脚卡住。
知识点3：护栏高度应该在60-65cm直间，中间不能有横称，避免宝贝攀爬翻越而摔倒，当孩子爬出来可以达到35英寸（90cm）的高度时，不宜使用婴儿床了。
知识点4：护栏的拉力应达到70磅，避免因撞击或经常调节带来的损坏，同时护栏木材不能用指接料或有巴结的木料。
知识点5：床体与床板间距不大于12mm（一个手指的距离），避免宝贝卡住手脚而造成伤害。
知识点6：床板调节高度的孔位最高是60cm，最低是30cm，最好是3档调节，以适应孩子不同的年龄和身高，也避免妈妈大幅度弯腰抱宝宝而腰酸背痛，如果消费者使用小护栏，必须把床底调制2档或者3档，2岁以上宝宝使用最合适。

4. 使用方法：床垫必须安装在床架上，确保婴儿床的四周无空隙，以确保婴儿不会滑出或掉下床。
床垫使用完毕后应每隔一段时间反转
一下，以便使两面摆放均匀。

Unpack the bed, head board, foot board, and side frames out of the box.2. Attach the 4 supplemental mounting plates to the top frame as shown in the pictures below.3. Attach the 4 casters to the bed with the 4 bolts contained in the box.4. Roll the bottom frame under the top frame as shown in the picture below.5. a . Remove the 8 bolts and nuts located on both sides of the bed frame.b . Connect the bottom and top frame by installing and tightening the 8 bolts which were removed in a .Instructions for the Assembly of N1035M/N2085M Monroe Bed (Manual)6.Remove the 4 supplemental mounting plates from the 4 corners of the bed.7.Remove the screws for the foot and head attachment. There a total of 4 screws.8.Attach the head and foot ends to the spring frame. Tap the corner lock on the end with a mallet and wood blockuntil they are firmly seated in the corner lock on the spring frame.9.Make sure the hole of the head and foot ends align with the spring frame hole. Then using the locking screw whichwas removed in step 7, screw and tighten the two components together as shown below.10.a. Position the pull tube so that the top and bottom frames align.b. Remove the two bolts from pull tube and then connect them again to the spring frame as shown below.11.Attach the slide rod extensions to both ends of the side frame with the plastic stop facing towards red trigger.12.Install the spring system to the slide rod extensions.a. Place one washer (1”x 0.545” x 0.125”) into stem of slide rod.b. Next, attach the bumper spring.c. Attach the final washer (1”x 0.545” x 0.125”).13.Pick up side frames and place the slide rod extensions into the lower crib eyes as shown below.Pick up side frame Place slide rod stem into lower crib eye hole Completion of attachment14.a. Attach the side curtains by sliding the ends of the curtain onto both slide rod extensions.b. Secure the side curtain by attaching a stop ring onto the slide rod extension as shown.c. Push down on each end of the side frame to engage the square bushing into the upper crib eye.b. Place washer on top of crib eye and then tighten the locking screws at the top of each slide rod extension.c. Repeat procedure for all 4 slide rod extensions. (Total of 4 screws & 4 washers).16.Securing the side frame to bed.a. Attach the white washer to the bolt.b. insert bolt into hole.c. On the other end secure bolt by attaching the gray washer and nut.White washer and bolt on one end Gray washer and nut on other end17.Assembled N1035M/N2085M Manual Monroe Bed.INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONSFOR HEAVY DUTY BUMPER PADSThe nations #1 manufacturer of hospital cribsFOR STOCKTON ORMONROE YOUTH BEDS*1030BP fits a 36” x 72” Youth Bed *2085BPfits a 36” x 83” Youth Bed1.INVENTORYYou should have received 4 pads. 2 are square shaped and are used on the headboard and footboard. They are interchangeable and will fit oneither the headboard or footboard.The other 2 pads are rectangle shaped and “side specific”. Each of these pads install on the inside of the side rails.2.INSTALLING PADS ON THE HEADBOARD AND FOOTBOARDRemove the mattress from the bed. Place 1 square shaped pad against the inside surface of the headboard with the 2 white strings hanging down to the corner brackets of the spring assembly. (The corner brackets are the areas where the spring assembly attaches to the legs of the bed)Put the vinyl flap with the Velcro over the top edge of the headboard and affix it to the outside face of the headboard. This secures the top of the bumper pad.Tie off both white strings to the corner brackets of the spring deck. A “shoelace bow” will be fine. This secures the bottom of the bumper pad.Repeat these procedures for the other square shaped bumper pad for the footboard.3.INSTALLING PADS ON THE SIDERAILSAs in step #2, the mattress should be removed to make it easier to install the pads.With side rail raised, place one of the pads along the inside face of the side rail with the elastic straps and white strings towards the floor.**IMPORTANT** - The triangle shaped area on the pad (the area that doesn’t have any padding) must go towards the head end of the bed. This triangle shaped area allows the head end of the bed to be elevated without bunching up and interfering with the bumper pad.The 3 vinyl flaps go over the top edge of the side rail and affix to the outside face of the side rail. Be careful not to cover the 2 openings for the fingertip trigger assembly mechanisms.Clip the hooks on the white elastic straps to the silver colored coils on the spring assembly. Tie off the 2 white strings to the corner brackets. As in step #2, a shoelace bow will be fine.Put the mattress back on the bed.4LOWERING THE SIDERAILS WITH THE BUMPER PADS ON **IMPORTANT** This procedure must be followed when lowering the siderails, otherwise the pads or Velcro may be damaged.DO NOT TRY TO LOWER THE SIDERAIL WITHOUT FOLLOWING THESE STEPS:Undo the 3 vinyl flaps along the entire length of the side rail and then lower the side rail. Pull the entire bumper pad towards you and it will fall outside the bed, while staying attached to the bed.5RAISING THE SIDERAILS WITH THE BUMPER PADS ON Flip the pad up and into the bed, raise the side rail and then reattach the 3 vinyl flaps.The nations #1 manufacturer of hospital cribs Assembly Instructionsfor Vinyl Top CoversFor all Monroe Bedsor Springfield CribsEdited 4/4/16**Please read through all instructions prior to starting assembly of your top cover.To begin, you must first remove the screws and washers from the top of the 4 slide rods on your crib or bed.With your vinyl top cover assembly, you will receive some small round plastic connectors and a washer. You will want to take the screw you have just removed from the 4 corners, and insert it into the connector and washer.Next- you will put your connectors into your 4 corners at the top of the slide rod. When you screw them in, be sure the holes in the top of the connector are at a 45 degree angle from the sides of the crib, or your hitch pin clip won’t go in. For further detail on this- see the last photo of the instructions.If you are working alone to assemble and add the top cover, for the next step you will want to add a support of some kind across the opposite end of the crib to hold up the other end of the cover as you work.Next, find a clean flat surface you can lay our your vinyl top cover and slide the 4 curtain rods into the appropriate pockets in the cover.When you are done, be sure the short curtain rods are resting on top of the longer rods for support when you pick it up and put it on the crib.Put your top cover carefully on the crib over your plastic connectors.Insert your hitch pin clips in all 4 corners, and then assembly is complete.**Numbers correspond to parts list and assembly instructions.****Components Marked With an * are Components of the Parts Bag 72072** Note‐ Numbers correspond to photo layout.**Parts are Available for up to 12 Years From Date of Manufacture**The nations #1 manufacturer of hospital cribsCAUTION SHEETAll bolts and other fasteners must be securelytightened and maintained when crib is put in service. Before each usage or assembly, inspect crib for damaged hardware, loose joints, missing parts or sharp edges.The nations #1 manufacturer of hospital cribs Operating & Safety InformationAll Cribs or Beds with Safety Tops**To avoid risk of injury when operating either a Springfield Crib or Monroe Bed, it is essential that both the curtain lift bars or the side/end rails be securely locked in place when raising or lowering either of those parts.**Side Curtain Lift BarSide RailThe curtain lift bars are raised using 2finger tip releases which are on each sideof the lift bar.When raising and lowering the lift bar, makesure that the red tips of the trigger mechanismssecurely lock into place in the notches on bothsides of the slide rods. You should barely beable to see any of the red tip of the triggermechanism. There should also be an audibleclick on both ends, and if you grasp the lift barand tug, it should not move if it is correctly andsecurely latched.Crib and bed rails are raised and lowered with a John’s Hopkins Handle.The side/end rail trigger mechanism must lock into place in the same manner as the curtain lift bar. The red tips must be securely seated in the notches of the slide rods on both ends, and you should barely be able to see the red tip if at all. This provides protection against a broad range of micro-organisms such as e-coli, fungus, mildew, salmonella and algae.HARD’s anti-microbial finishes are safe for human contact and remain effective as long as there is a coating on the crib surface. HARD recommends a non-abrasive cleaning solution. General overall cleaning with mild detergent should be applied at least once (1) per year.Placing cribs in cart washers and/or the use of steam spray guns for disinfecting HARD’s products is not recommended. When residual moisture is left on internal mechanisms corrosion may occur.
