I am lucky. I went to great schools, and I had good teachers throughout my life. Of all the great teachers I had, my favorite was Darlene McCambell.
Mrs. McCampbell was my high school teacher at Chicago Laboratory School, and she still teaches there today. She taught me how to be a better student. In Mrs. McCambell’s class, I wasn’t just taught about spelling and grammar, I was encouraged to have something to say. I was free to share my ideas and opinions, without fearing judgment. She always provided support and expressed a strong belief (信心) in her students’potential (潜力). There was never talk of limits (限制) or what we couldn’t do.
Her belief and support came with demanding (苛求的,要求高的) course work. She made it clear that in her class, expectations were high. She asked a lot of us, and in turn asked a lot of herself. Often, there was more red than blue on our papers. She put in a lot of hard work and late nights.
I would not be where I am today if it weren’t for teachers like Darlene McCampbell. Knowing that there are great teachers like her across the country encourages me. But learning what you can and can’t change about your body is part of growing up, too. It can be hard to accept. But when people accept the way they look, they also feel happier.

But when you move your body — by playing, dancing, taking part in sports, or even cleaning your room — you exercise your muscles (肌肉). When you exercise a muscles, it gets stronger. And when you have strong muscles, you can do whatever you want to do.
Kids (and grown-ups!) feel better about their bodies when they feel strong and know that their bodies can do whatever they want them to do. So climb a hill, jump rope, ride a bike, swim in

Life is about going for things. And when we do, rejection(拒绝) is always possible. Rejection affects or hurts us all. 71. D In fact, people who become too afraid of rejection might give up going after something they want. So the better we get at dealing with rejection, the less it affects us. Here are some ideas.
Be honest. If you get rejected, don’t try to show it’s not painful. Now, move on to name what you’re feeling. If you want, tell someone else what happened and how you feel about it. 72. F Be positive (积极的). When you’re dealing with rejection, it’s easy to get into feeling bad.
73. B Avoid talking or thinking about it all the time.
Examine your thoughts. 74. C Consider how you’re explaining the rejection to yourself. When you give yourself an explanation, be careful to follow the facts. If you start blaming(责备) yourself for the rejection, you might start believing you’ll always be rejected. Rejection can make you feel very sad. But remember it’s not the end of the world.
75. A A rejection is a chance to consider if there are things we can work on. It’s OK to think about whether there’s room for improvement or if your goals were higher than your skills. A. Use rejection to your advantage. B. So accept how you feel.
