Lesson 43: Let’s Go Shopping!
Teaching Content:
Oral words and expressions: shopping, shop, clothes shop, bicycle shop, tea shop, grocery store, why, because, buy, across, broken, need, chain
Teaching Aims:
1. Cultivate the students’ ability of tea mwork.
2. Know the knowledge of shopping in the western countries.

1. Learn the names of the shops.
2. How to express one’s need.

Teaching Procedure:
Step1.Review
Suppose you are on your way to the Renmin Park, but you don’t know the way. What should you do?
Let the students play in roles and act the dialogue out in front of the class. Provide the following prepositions to them: above, beside, in, below, near, next to, on the left, on the right
Step2. Show the pictures of the shops to the students and name them together. Ask the following questions to help them.
T: If our bikes are broken, where do we need to go? Ss: a bicycle shop.
T: If we need some beautiful clothes, where are we going? Ss: a clothes shop.
T: Now after we buy a lot of clothes, we’re thirty. What shall we do? S1: Let’s go to the grocery store to eat ice cream. S2: To drink water. S3: to buy orange juice.
Step3. Introduce the grocery store to the students. It is different from the shop. Let the students discuss in pairs. “What is the difference between the grocery and the shop?”Then ask some students give reports to the class. Remember to tour in the class and help them when they need help.
Step4. Listen to the tape and answer the following questions:
1. Where is Danny going? Why?
2. Where is Li Ming going? Why?
3. Where is the bicycle shop?
Step5. Read the text silently and check the answers. Then read the dialogue in roles in class loudly.
Step6. Play the tape for several times and let the students imitate after it. Let some students read the text in roles in class. Make sure they have the correct pronunciations and intonations. If it is necessary, let them read after you.
Step7.Finish the task
Now you are walking on the street, when you meet your good friend. Begin a
dialogue.
Let some students act their dialogues out in front of the class. Let the students decide which team is the best. Give their reasons.
Step8. 1.Finish off the activity book.
2. Go on the next reading in the student book.
Summary:
Let the students search the information of shopping in western countries before class. Show what they searched in the class.。
