Task 1: 饼图

Task 2: 议论文– discuss both views and give your opinion

三、具体题目分析:

Task 1

The pie charts show the proportion of the energy produced from different sources in a country between 1985 and 2003.

范文:

The pie charts present the change of the percentage of the energy produced from various sources in a particular country from 1985 to 2003.

It is clear that oil was the most dominant source from which the energy was produced throughout the whole period, although it dropped from 52% in 1985 to 39%. Likewise, nuclear also declined, but much less significantly to 17%, becoming the third primary source from which the energy was produced.

The percentage of natural gas, on the other hand, witnessed the most noticeable increase during the period, rising from 13% in 1985 to 23% in 2003. Coal and other renewable resources, whose increase was less marked though, rising by 5% and 3% respectively.

Interestingly, the proportion of the energy produced from the hydrogen remained stable in 1985 and 2003, making it the least used sources from which the energy was produced.

Overall, oil, natural gas and nuclear still constituted a larger proportion of all the sources, while the other three sources, namely coal, hydrogen and other renewable, were less used when producing the energy.

Task 2

Some people regard the increasing business and cultural contacts between countries as a positive development. Others, however, feel these lead to the loss of national identities. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

话题分类:社会–全球化

题型分类:议论文– discuss both views and give your opinion

范文:

The closer communication between different countries has been an accelerating trend in recent years, both in economic and cultural aspects. Some people doubt the intimate

connection will cause a country’s identities to vanish. In my view, the effects of international interaction depend on the situation in different nations.

The international contact is definitely a mutual benefit for countries. Being economically motivated, both states and entrepreneurs are interested not only in the domestic market but also in the oversea market. The closer connection affords tremendous opportunities for businesses and corporations. Besides, cultural exchange would be conducive to embracing different values, which will promote the multi-cultural understanding and even remove cultural barriers.

However, some people are concerned that this trend is causing the loss of national identities. The unique cultures in some countries and areas are assimilated by foreign cultures. The younger generations are fascinated by foreign cultures, with little knowledge about the history and customs of their communities. If this trend continues, the local culture would disappear and it is a loss of human civilization. Also, because countries are becoming increasingly similar, people find out they would buy the same product and see the same landscape when travelling to other countries. In this sense, international travelling is not as appealing as before.

In my opinion, economic and cultural exchanges between different countries should be encouraged, which is an irreversible trend in the future. However, when we absorb the merits of the culture from other countries, we should also value and preserve the traditions and customs of our own country.
