Ask and show directions (问路与指路)
教学目标:
1.知识目标:学生能牢记该课新单词,记住新短语、句型、句子和语言知识点
2.能力目标:学生能听懂对话录音,会和别人展开对话,能就类似话题,创造性地自编对话
3.情感目标:让学生了解并学会礼貌问路,形成生活礼貌的习惯

Learning procedures (学习步骤):
1. Watch a cartoon video
2. Recite the following sentence patterns for asking directions and then do the substitution exercises with new names of places in the left box.
a. Excuse me, could you please tell me the way to the …..?
b. Sorry to trouble you, how can I get to the …..?
c. Excuse me, do you know where is ……?
3. Learn the traffic signs and match each sign with its meaning

Dialogue one:
A. Excuse me, could you tell me how to get to the bookshop ?
B. Yes, the bookshop is just over there. Go straight ahead and turn left at the first crossroad. The bookshop is on your left.
A. How long will it take me to get there?

8. Practice: make up dialogues with your partners according to the following map and show your dialogues to the whole class.

Rules:
1. Suppose our classroom is a city, there are 13 places in this city.
2. You are divided into 13 groups, the name of your group is the name of the place and each group has four sugars.
3. Discuss with your group members and make up new dialogues with your group member. Then show your dialogue to the whole class. While student one student is showing the way, the other one should do what he has said. If he can get the destination, he can get one sugar from that group. Group work: ask Ss to discuss in groups: “Are there any other sentences can be used for asking and giving directions? What are they?” please list them out in the following table.
