听力原文
Text 1
M: When I’m in the library, I like sitting at the long tables in the reading area. It’s quiet there. W: I prefer to read in the comfortable chairs in the history area.
M: But there’re always too many people talking there.
Text 2
M: I think the party was a great success.
W: Really? But there was not enough food, and the room was too hot.
Text 3
M: I missed the weather report this morning. Did you hear it?
W: Yes. It said today is partly cloudy with a strong wind from the northwest. But the wind will stop this evening. And tomorrow you’ll see lots of sunshine.
Text 4
M: Excuse me. I want to pay the bill.
W: Wait a moment please. OK. Your bill includes the doctor’s fee and the cost for a 3-day supply of medicine. It comes to one hundred yuan.
Text 5
W: David, didn’t you go on holiday at the end of July?
M: No. Dad had to work on the 30th, so we couldn’t go. We’re going next Friday.
W: On August 9th?
M: That’s right, and we are coming back on August 16th.
Text 6
M: Grandma?
W: Yes, Charlie.
M: I’ve noticed that it’s getting harder for you and Grandpa to do some of your daily activities. I’d be happy to help out.
W: Well, we do find it a bit difficult to do the shopping every day.
M: I’d be glad to help you with that a few days a week if you’d like.
W: Really? That would be great.
M: And let me give you a hand with the cleaning.
W: It’s OK, dear. I can manage that by myself.
Text 7
M: Do you have a question, Emily?
W: No, Mr. Black. That’s not why I raised my hand. I need to go to the ladies’ room.
M: Let me give you a hall pass for it.
W: What’s a hall pass?
M: With a hall pass, you can go to the ladies’ room or wherever you need to go during class time. W: I see.
M: If a teacher stops you in the hallway, just show him or her the pass.
W: Or I’ll get into trouble.
M: That’s right.
Text 8
W: What’s happening in the park today?
M: It’s the Summer Festival. Did n’t you know about it?
W: No. Is it a music festival?
M: No, it’s a festival of food and art.
W: Really? That sounds unusual.
M: Yes, but it’s good.
W: When does the festival begin?
M: On Friday. Last year it finished on Saturday, but this year the festival will run for three days, not two.
W: Good! I’d like to go. Is it open all day?
M: The gates open at eleven in the morning, and they stay open until midnight.
W: I don’t think I’ll stay that long. But I might go in the afternoon from about three o’clock until seven o’clock.
M: Well, don’t go by car. The city center will be very busy. Take the bus. The No. 50 goes to the park every 15 minutes.
W: Good idea.
Text 9
M: Look at this armchair. What do you think?
W: Oh, I’m not sure I like the design. It’s too heavy looking.
M: Try it.
W: Hmm. It’s really comfortable! And I’d like to have something this size. Our old armchair is too small. This size is perfect for the living room.
M: What do you think of the color?
W: Well, green isn’t my favorite color, but it’s better than that brown one we have now. I t’s OK, I guess. But blue would be perfect.
