Today my presentation is mainly to introduce a form of music – A Cappella.

First, let us look at the origin of a cappella.

A cappella music was originally used in religious music, especially church music. Gregorian chant (格里高利圣咏) is an example of a cappella singing, as is the majority of secular世俗的vocal music from the Renaissance. The madrigal牧歌, up until its development in the early Baroque巴洛克into an instrumentally-accompanied form, is also usually in a cappella form.

Jewish and Christian music were originally a cappella, and this practice has continued in both of these religions as well as in Islam伊斯兰.

After listening to the origin of a cappella, then let us look at the current situation of the development of a cappella. Here I would like to introduce two famous a cappella groups. The first is the king’s singers. The King's Singers are a British a cappella vocal ensemble 全体founded in 1968. They are named after King's College in Cambridge, England, where the group was formed by six choral scholars. In the United Kingdom, their popularity peaked in the 1970s and early 1980s.

The background music now we are listening to is sung by them.

Due to the gradual aging of the original members of age, "The King's Singers' members had some changes since the 1980s, but they continue to maintain the existing skills and quality, because of this，despite the personnel changes have taken place, the quality of their music has never changed, it has maintained a high level.

The second group is pentatonix. Pentatonix (often abbreviated as PTX) are a two-time Grammy winning American a cappella group consisting of five vocalists: Avi Kaplan开普冷, Scott Hoying好意, Kirstin Maldonado马拉多纳多, Kevin Olusola奥鲁索拉, and Mitch Grassi格拉西. Their work, which is mostly in the pop style, consists of covers of existing songs, sometimes in the form of medleys麦地里, along with their original materia马泰利亚l. Their music is defined by their own arrangement style, tight vocal harmonies, extensive vocal riffing即兴重复, deep and steady vocal basslines, and a diverse range of vocal percussion and beatboxing.

My introduction to a cappella is coming to an end, I hope that we can through the introduction of a cappella a deeper understanding, if this interest for a cappella, like on this form of music better.
