This has raised a heated debate around the world whether it is a positive or negative development. Some people believe e某tra coaching classes lead to good job prospect, whereas others hold a distinctive view and think that children should spend their spare time on leisure activities. In my opinion, I believe that students should join e某tra classes if they are poor in particular subjects. In fact, many students have difficulty to keep up with other students in their class, so going to e某tra classes is an ideal way to fill in the part of lessons they do not understand. In addition, as e某tra coaching classes generally specialize in a particular subject, the teaching method is much more better than at school and students are able to practice solving e某ercise problems from a variety of resource. What is your opinion?写作范文:As university education is the last stage before the starting of career, many people believe that it prepares students for employment only, but the fact is that it serves a lot many purposes. In this essay I shall discuss the various functions of a university.Universities provide specialised education in fields such as medical, engineering, commerce etc. They provide library facilities, which support the curriculum. They provide laboratory facilities for science and technology related subjects. They send students to factories and industries so that they get practical e某perience. This job-oriented training helps them to understand the working conditions and also gives them an idea about competition in themarket. They also create job opportunities for the students by arranging campus interviews. On the other hand, universities also perform other functions which help the students in their personal life. They organise co-curricular activities such as cultural programmes, sports, debates, fairs etc. They gain many qualities such as self-confidence and positive attitude, which help them in their future life. Moreover, some people just go to university for gaining knowledge just out of interest for the subject. For e某ample, a doctor may want to learn French language just for interest in the language.Furthermore, a university is a place to know more about the world because there are students from across the globe in a university. For many, who may never travel abroad, this may be a chance of a lifetime for them to broaden their horizons and know more about the different cultures of the world. For e某ample, in LPU ( Lovely Professional University), there are 200 students from Malaysia, Korea and other parts of the world. To put it in a nutshell, I pen down saying that, universities do not simply prepare a person for employment, but also have many other functions.雅思写作范文海外留学的利与弊海外留学的利与弊雅思写作题目:More and more students choose to move to other oversea countries to have the higher education. Does the trend bring more benefits than disadvantages? What is your opinion?下面我们一起来了解一下这个写作题目的范文:An increasing number of Chinese students choose to have their higher education abroad. A heated discussion is triggered by thebenefits and disadvantages that overseas education brings. In my opinion, although pursuing higher education in other countries may have some drawbacks, it would bring us more benefits.Firstly, the ability to master a foreign language and appreciate other cultures could make us more competitive in the face of a globalizing world. A popular theory states that the best way to learn a different language is to spend a lengthy amount of time in the surroundings where the language is spoken. The possibility of broadening foreign language skills increases greatly when forced to communicate in such a way as different from their own. In addition, students who live under the confines of foreign culture develop the sense of a greater perspective of the world around them, and the ability to understand societal differences.Secondly, many universities in other countries enjoy renowned reputations that provide a substantially higher quality of education. If students immerse themselves into such academic environments, they are e某posed to the greatest minds of a certain field and chances that may sparkle brilliant insights.Last but not least, studying abroad removes you from the normal support network that you are accustomed to back at home. While being away from friends and family can seem daunting, it is also a chance for you to hone your own skills and gain some independence. One major aspect of being an independent adult is having the ability to manage your own finances. Furthermore, living in a new country also forces you to familiarize yourself with the various living e某penses. Understanding how to manage your e某penses will especially be beneficial when you no longer rely on the support of your family.Despite of some challenges international students may face suchas homesickness and financial burden, studying abroad could reward students with e某cellent chances that lead them to a brighter future.雅思教育类写作范文之儿童早学外语利弊雅思教育类写作范文之儿童早学外语利弊写作题目:Some people saythat teaching foreign languages to children in primary school is good and the advantages of teaching foreign language early outweigh the disadvantages.

Topic 1: Increasing travels between countries enable people to learn different cultures or to increase tension between people from different countries?外来人口的增加有利于文化的交流:•游客或者移民都具备经济利益和价值(commercial interest and economic value);而外同人的停留时间是和东道国的合作密切相关的(The length of stay depends on the cooperation of the host society.);很多当地人因此表现得非常好客和友好,这有助于文化的交流(Many local people are very friendly and hospitable, which promote the cultural communications.);•对其他的文化和人民更为了解(a better understanding of other cultures and other peoples),改变人们对其他民族和文化的态度(alter one's attitudes towards another people or culture);人们因此可以接受不同的文化和价值观(embrace different values and cultures),可以和平共处(create motivation to coexist peacefully), 并促进对"多元文化的理解(promote multi-cultural understanding);•促进文化的融合(promote integration),消除文化障碍(remove cultural barriers), 外来人口的增加导致冲突:•违反当地的习俗会激怒当地人(breach of local customs can irritate the locals);•不同文化的人看待同一事物总有不同的角度(harbour different perceptions),并给予不同的解释(different interpretations),比如对手势、衣服、言行举止有不同的理解;举止不当会引起当地人意想不到的反应(provoke unanticipated responses); •外国游客增多会对当地环境造成压力,甚至破坏环境,而移民增多可能导致工作机会减少,致使竞争更加激烈,这些都有可能引起当地人的反感(cause resentment in local communities).Globalization is a catch-all term that refers to any activity that involves more than one country, for example, travel from one country to another. The dramatic increase in transnational travel in recent years has sparked controversy over the potential impacts of this trend on individual countriesf especially those new member states of globalization. Some people are concerned that the upsurge in new arrivals will prompt local hostility against visitors instead of promoting their understanding on mutual cultural background. This notion should be rejected as one can see many facts in favor of this development between countries. The first reason why international travels would never bring conflict is rooted in the fact that both visitors and locals are economically motivated. International travel opens up opportunities for business development throughout the world. Entrepreneurs are interested not only in the domestic market but also in the oversea market. Foreigners should learn the culture of a country before winning over the local people. In turn, locals should show their hospitality to visitors in exchange for their trust. They share a view that acceptance of each other's cultural background is a necessary condition for cooperation.Understanding a culture has other implications. Differences in social background, cultural values and religious belief might make the discrepancy of foreigners and local inhabitants on some issues indelible; however, the higher interaction, the higher level of communication and understanding. Arabians, for example, used to consider westerners as their foes. Now they have concrete relations with their western allies in many fields. In the initial stage, their divergence seemedinherent but over time, with better mutual understanding, they take the same position on many issues.Undeniably, it is likely that in some resorts, foreign visitors repel the local community with their scant regard for the local environment and conventions when they first arrive. However, it should be noted that most offense is accidental, rather than intentional. Instead, visitors disobey rules and conventions simply because they have no knowledge of them. This situation is expected to be improved with the passing of time when visitors from different countries increase their knowledge of a local culture.According to the above analysis, we can observe that the increase in the international travel should not be taken as the cause of any conflict that arises between two countries. Alternatively, one should recognize its role in improving mutual understanding between two countries.1. catch-all = all-embracing:包罗甚广的;包括一切的2. hostility=enmity=resentment:敌意,怨'恨,愤恨3. rooted in=derived from=based on:基于4. entrepreneur=tycoon=mogul=industrialist:企业家,实业家5. discrepancy=disagreement=difference=divergence:分歧,矛盾6. foe=enemy=rival:敌人,竟争对手7. concrete=tangible=solid:具体的,实际的8. overtime=in due course=sooner or later:最终,早9. resort:胜地;tourist resort:旅游胜地;holiday resort:度假胜地;beach resort:海边度假胜地;scenic spot:景观;place of interest: 旅游景点10. repel=revolt=repulse:使厌恶,憎恶11. scant=limited=scarce:缺乏的,不足的Topic2: When international media (including movies, fashion shows, advertisements and other TV programs) convey the same messages to the global audience, people argue that the expansion of international media has negative impacts on cultural diversity. I am really, really sorry about that. I had no idea that you would be able to hear so much, so I hope you will accept my apologies. As you may have guessed, I am trying to refit my kitchen in the evenings when I get home from work. This has meant a lot of banging and hammering. As the kitchen is still not finished, I have decided to call in a professional builder who will finish the work in the next day or two. Statistics indicate that even housewives spend much shorter time at kitchen than their predecessors. This writing will compare and contrast advantages and disadvantages of fast food and traditional food.Traditional food has its unshakable position in the human culture both in the social and historical context. Historically, chefs have gone to all lengths to experiment on novelties, invent cooking skills to gratify guests' hunger. Hence, traditional food has secured its incomparable value with a complex of tantalising features, including the variance, flavour, and taste. Its unique charms can nurturesocial relations as well. A family is accustomed to prepare a traditional feast to serve their guests at weekend or on holiday, such as Christmas.Further, traditional food is favourably nutritious and balanced, compared with fast food. Dieticians have suggested audience through millions of televised courses that traditional food can retain more nutrition before being served on the table, for in general, they are cooked with a temperate heat. By contrast, the fast food are made at such a high temperature that nutrition has inescapably vaporised during the cooking process. Meanwhile, cooks pay more attention to the balance of recipe when preparing traditional food, such as combing meat with vegetable.Despite a range of advantages, traditional food is overshadowed by its fast competitor in terms of time. Traditional food can consume a considerable amount of time from choosing materials, to arranging your table for visual appeal. In contrast, fast food cannot be faster when making a five-minute trip to a store around the corner, or even dialling to a fast food company. Needless to say recently, a string of fast food companies have tried their hardest to enrich the menu. To summarise, traditional food has an irreplaceable role in our life, backed with various merits. However, its prevalence isdeclining for people are more and more time conscious.剑桥雅思写作高分范文分类第四篇There are many good reasons to cycle. Cycling is the mostefficient means of getting around London. 写作范文【Test1-4】汇总Test1Task1From the first map, there was a main road named Hospital Road running from the south to the north,on both sides of the road lay three bus stops. The city hospital was right at the end of Hospital Road, which was surrounded by the Ring Road. The roads witnessed a huge alteration after the construction work in the past three years.In2010,a new public car park was constructed next to the city hospital. Two roundabouts were paved at the entrance and exit of the Hospital Road.On its west side, the preceding bus stops has been transformed into a bus station. On the other side, the bus stops and car park were replaced by a new staff car park.To sum up,the road access to the city hospital has changed significantly for the citizens after the construction work, more new car parks have been added in this area. Meanwhile, the city hospital, the Ring Road and City Road have been well-preserved.Test2Task1The bar chart illustrates how the proportions of households that lived in owned and rented accommodation in England and Wales changed from1918to2011.Before1971,more households lived in rented accommodation than in owned accommodation. The biggest gap was in1918,when77%households rented. The same proportions(68%)of households lived in owned accommodation in1939and 1953.In1961,there were as many as40%of households in owned accommodation. Finally, the year1971witnessed equal proportions of households that lived in both types of accommodation. On the other hand, there were more households that lived in owned accommodation than in rented accommodation after1971.In1991and2001, households in owned accommodation more than doubled those in rented accommodation. The difference was less prominent in1981and2001,when about 60%of households lived in owned accommodation. It is clear that, while there was an increase in the percentage of households in owned accommodation in these two nations, fewer and fewer households rented.剑13Test3Task1The bar chart presents data relating to the quantities of electricity(measured in billions of kilowatts per hour)produced and used in2014by the ten countries in the world that produce and use the greatest amount of electricity. It is clear that China and the USA are the biggest producers and users of electricity by far.Except for Germany, all the countries in question produce more electricity than they use, though the differences are generally not large.China and the USA produced around5,400billion kWh and around4,100billion kWh of electricity respectively.Further, both nations used only fractionally less than this sum.Russia,Japan and India occupied positions three, four and five in the top ten, with corresponding consumption figures ranging between1,057billion and871 billion with respect to generation and ranging from1,038billion to just under700 billion for usage. The final five places in the top ten were occupied(in descending order)by Canada,France,Brazil,Germany and the Republic of Korea. The spread of both production and usage figures was approximately620billion to around450billion. Canada,France and Brazil were notable in that their production quantities were all at least75billion higher than their usage figures. In contrast,Germany consumed about 60billion more than it produced.Test4Task1The two maps predict how the design of a university’s sports center is going to change and develop from now to the future. At present, inside the layout,a pool of25square meters lies in the center of university sports center, and the gym, changing room and seat area are respectively located around the pool, while its entrance and reception are in front of the pool. Beside the current layout, two outdoor courts occupying the same place are located in the western and eastern part.In the second picture, the sports center will change a lot.As a whole, the space is predicted to be enlarged with more functional areas while the pool, changing room, seating and reception will be well kept in the original condition with same size and location. It can also be seen that the gym is going to be extended into a large space for more faculty to use.Meanwhile, the space of two outdoor courts will be replaced by a spacious leisure pool on the left and a sports hall on the right respectively.Besides, new facilities like two changing rooms,a shops shop,a cafe and dance studios will also be built in this area.Overall, based on the brief description above,it is clear that the general layout of the village will change a lot, while some newly-built facilities will be ornamented the sports center.Test1Task2Living in a country where you have to speak a foreign language can cause serious social problems,as well as practical problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?Living in different countries with different climates, cultures and languages has been popular since decades ago, thanks to the popularizing of globalization. However, some people argue that living overseas where people have to speak foreign language may result in difficulties in their interpersonal communications and daily lives.I totally disagree with that point of view. For one thing, living in a foreign nation may not do harm to ones’social life. Instead of being isolated with each other, nowadays people all around the world use English so that they can communicate with people who are speaking English. Therefore, people can enjoy their social lives by communicating with foreign people in different language. What is more, people may become open-minded as they live a life in another country.Noticeably, people forcing themselves to speak a foreign language not only bring pressure but also create incentives to them, which help people make more friends around. For another, these countries where someone has to speak a foreign language can provide a good language environment which is easier for individuals to blend into the society, and it can also bring benefits to people’s daily life, which actually overwhelms the negative effects. For example,to learn a language through staying in that country can be more efficient compared with studying at home. This is because students living at home do not have to worry about problems such as finding accommodation, paying for their tuition fees and living costs, which is different from students studying in another country.Admittedly,if students study in anon-native-speaking country, they will be put some pressures, however,it will also develop their abilities of solving-problem and independent thinking.Besides,in their spared time, people can enjoy better life condition and learn more mode of thinking compared with that in their own country. To conclude, living abroad and speaking foreign language can neither be serious problems in people’s social lives or in dealing with practical work.Test2Task2With the development of our society, people’s living conditions are improving. Meanwhile, some people think that at present, there are too many choices for people to select. As far as I am concerned,I totally agree with it.On one hand, more and more companies are established as the result of economic globalization. And these companies can not only provide people with enough job opportunities, they can also offer people a variety of products they make. However,in the past, there were not so many companies, and many people could only choose to spend their whole day in the farm and do their own business. On the other hand, people nowadays are having better life now than they did in the past as the result of economic development, which means that they have more money now,and they can afford to buy more things. We may see rich people have a lot of choices when they buy luxuries to show their social status, and normal people are richer than before, and most of them can buy things they want.Last but not least, the advent of the Internet has contributed a lot to the increasing number of people’s choices. At present,we individuals could even sell our brand new or used things on the Internet. However,in the past,we did not have such platforms to sell the things we did not need at all.All in all,I agree that with the development of our society and economy,as well as the advent of the Internet, people nowadays are faced with too many choices.Test3Task2There is a famous saying that those who do not study the errors in history are doomed to repeat them. With the drive for scientific and technological educationleading to the increasing marginalization of history as an academic subject,I think the need to preserve history as a fundamental field is more important than ever before.A very basic overview of significant historical events reveals that many aspects of change are cyclical.Understanding these cycles, such as the ebb and flow of technological advancement, and being able to recognize the state of one’s present era based on historical precedents is an incredibly useful skill for students to acquire. For example, enterprising students who seek to earn a living through investment or entrepreneurship could benefit immensely by understanding the historical problems a region has had and still is facing. This is not to say that science and technology courses are not important. It is a vital necessity for everyone nowadays to have some modicum of tech savvy if they are to function in day-to-day life. For example, the proliferation of high-tech devices throughout society means that every person must have a basic understanding of how these devices function in order to use them. Also, there is a strong point to be made for the career opportunities in science and technology fields compared to ones related to history. The most likely job prospects for those who focus on history are academic fields, such as teachers, museum curators, and writers, whereas science and technology majors have a very wide range of jobs to choose from.Yet these facts do not supersede the need for a historical education. In fact,if students focus only on the scientific and technological fields, and ignore history, they may develop poor attitudes towards technology due to a lack of historical context. In short,my opinion is that history classes are as important now as they have ever been, and the need for an understanding of science and technology does not negate this.Test4Task2Agricultural technology including inventing genetically modified food and super hybrid rice has achieved great breakthrough in these days.In this case, millions ofpeople get rid of suffering from starvation. However, due to inevitable factors, famine is still a severe problem that cannot be neglected in some remote areas. It is indicated that there is rapid environmental change occurring in nations like Brazil and Indonesia, where forests are being stripped to make way for farms. Although it may get instant results in boosting farm fields,in the long term, the deforestation process may put threat into yielding crops in a sustainable way.As a result, their descendants living in the deserted area fail to seek available land resource to address hunger’s root causes.Another factor is undeveloped transportation that the pricey delivery fee also perplexes governments. As drought for lack of irrigation water is universally observed in some tribes of Africa,it is essential to import grains or crops from other countries. However, the limited financial budget cannot achieve the balance with the large population. That is the reason that even in these advanced technology age, there is still a large number of hungry people in the globe. To address these problems, all governments and international organizations should put their effort together.Conversely, those countries which face serious famine need to introduce more agricultural specialists and advanced technology in order to rationally take advantage of the limited land resource.。

雅思考试写作范文(推荐十四篇)5雅思考试写作范文(篇一)In recent years, there has been growing interest in therelationship between equality and personal people believe that individuals can achieve more inegalitarian societies. Others believe that high levels of personal achievement are possible only if individuals are free to succeed or fail according to their individual is your view of the relationship between equality and personal success?平等社会个人成就大;放任自由发展的社会个人成就大。

你认为呢?In my opinion, an egalitarian society is one in which everyone has the same rights and the same opportunities. I completely agree that people can achieve more in this kind of society.Education is an important factor with regard to personal success in life. I believe that all children should have access to free schooling, and higher education should be either free or affordable for all those who chose to pursue a university degree. In a society without free schooling or affordable higher education, only children and young adults from wealthier families would have access to the best learning opportunities, and they would therefore be better prepared for the job market. This kind of inequality would ensure the success of some but harm the prospects of others.I would argue that equal rights and opportunities are not in conflict with people's freedom to succeed or fail. In other words, equality does not mean that people lose their motivation to succeed, or that they are not allowed to fail. On the contrary, I believe that most people would feel more motivated to work hard and reach their potential if they thought that they lived in a fair society. Those who did not make the same effort would know that they had wastedtheir opportunity. Inequality, on the other hand, would be morelikely to demotivate people because they would know that the odds of success were stacked in favour of those from privileged backgrounds. In conclusion, it seems to me that there is a positive relationship between equality and personal success.【雅思考试满分作文范文【精选5篇】】雅思考试写作范文(篇二)对于第二段,将重点放在我自己的想法上,并用三点来进一步发展。

Trade and travel would be a lot easier with a single, global currency that we all use.Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Would a single currency cause any problems? It is clear to me that the idea of a single global currency is an excellent ideal to work towards. There can be no doubt that trade and travel would be vastly easier. On the other hand I believe that it would cause problems today. The benefits of a single currency can be seen with the use in Europe of the Euro. Whenever you are travelling between countries using the Euro, the problems of currency changing and exchange rates are history. Similarly business between countries using the Euros is so much easier; no more worrying about exchange rate risk and pricing. Everyon e‛s money is the same. The same thing is true with the US dollar. Most countries do not use the US dollar but it is accepted in many places. There are many countries that you can travel to and just take US dollars to use.At present though a global currency would be impossible. Firstly most countries would not accept the idea. Secondly all countries are in different economic states. Some are economically very strong and some are in a state of collapse with inflation ruining the economy. Such countries could not be brought into a world currency as it would cause massive financial instability worldwide. So it is clear that a global currency would indeed cause some serious problems. So, in conclusion I see a global currency as a future ideal but it will not happen in my lifetime. It would make trade and travel much easier but the problems it would cause nowadays would be insurmountable.我很清楚,一个单一的全球货币的想法是一个理想的工作。

雅思大作文范文:学生就业When we read newspapers, our attention is alwaysattracted by increasing unemployment rate inyoung graduates who are leaving college. In myopinion, there are many causes for this disquietingphenomenon and we should try to solve theproblem. Most companies would rather employ a low-educational specialized worker than a this-year’s graduate from a well-known university. Forcompanies, they are more likely to choose the candidates with rich working experience.Apparently enough, the training for young graduates usually costs them a large quantity oftime and money. In addition, the current education system brings on a lot of bookworms whoare adept in theoretical but not practical knowledge. Therefore, it is hard for those graduatesto complete the practical assignments successfully and smoothly. This is one major reason whymany graduates find it hard to find suitable jobs.An un-mandatory retirement age is another factor leading to the youth unemployment forcollege graduates. Along with the improving of working efficiency, proficient employees withrich and extensive working experience get retired at a much later age. In this case, for younggraduates, there are fewer chances to get access to the jobs taken up by the older and moreexperienced. However, the youth unemployment may cause serious social problems. Due to the gloomyjob markets, college students may leave school before finishing their academic study, thus thehigher education system will be challenged, and more seriously, the importance of highereducation will be doubted. This will cause retrogression in education. To solve this grave problem, both colleges and students should take some actions. On onehand, it is advisable for colleges to adjust courses more closely related to the future jobs. Onthe other hand, students in college, as future candidates for employment, should not only get agood command of professional knowledge but also take part in some practical exercises to beprepared for the future jobs. In addition, government may stage laws and regulations toassist graduates in finding jobs.雅思大作文范文:关于教育问题People’s views on the size of a class vary. Whilesome people hold that a small class is better forlearning, there are others who argue that a big one is better. On a personal note, I amconvinced that each size of classes has its merits and demerits and what really counts is theteacher. That is to say, if the teacher is good, then class sizes would be no big deal.In the first place, both small and big classes havetheir own advantages and disadvantages. Let’s t akea small class for example. With a small number ofstudents in one class, the classroom atmospherewould be relatively quiet and, therefore, it would bepossible for students to concentrate on theirlearning. This can be easily understood, for, after all,the noise made by 10 or 20 people is much lowerthan that made by 100 or even 200 people! Also, with fewer students, the teacher would find it mucheasier to manipulate the class, that is, to have thewhole class under complete control. If there are toomany students, the teacher would be at a loss as to what to do in that controlling the situationitself would be challenging enough. Besides, in a small class, the students could have moreinteractive activities with theteacher and the teacher can give each student whateverinstructions or help that he or she needs. When the number of students in a class is much toobig, one-to-one or one-to-several tutoring is simply impossible. However, this is not to saythat a small class is all good and a big one is all bad. In fact, as researches show, a small class ismore likely to give rise to tiredness and boredom, which hinders learning. In this respect, a bigclass prevails as it places higher pressure on the teacher, thus compelling him or her to bemore energetic and more humorous so as to create a more lively learning atmosphere and, therefore, having the students’ attention. Who will benefit from all these? The students! Ofcourse! Moreover, in a big class, the students could get to know more people, thereby makingmore friends as they have more choices. And making friends itself is meaningful in that it makesthe class a more attractive place and in the long run, this makes for students’ learning. In the second place, we must acknowledge the very fact that no matter how small or big aclass is, it is simply not that important as the teacher. Even in a class where there is only onestudent, if the teacher proves to be inefficient, not knowing how to teach at all, it would beimpossible for the students to listen attentively, so there would be no way for them to reallylearn anything. Quite the opposite, if the teacher is good, then no matter how many studentsthere are in one class, say, 1,000 of them, the teacher would still be able to teachenthusiastically and the students listen enjoyably, and the learning effect would be beyondany doubt. I had the experience of sitting in a 500-student classroom. The teacher was warmlyreceived by the students and so we all learned happily. Moreover, just for the sake of securing aseat close to the teacher, many students would go to the classroom 1 hour earlier. This wellconfirmed the point that the teacher is what really counts. From the above discussion, we can safely come to the conclusion that the size of a class doesnot have much influence on the st udents’ learning effect. What is really more crucial in thisissue is the quality of the teacher.雅思大作文范文:人生的烦恼The pursuit of happiness has long been the dream ofgenerations of human beings. They have alwaysbeen puzzled by the essence of happiness. What ishappiness? Is it closely related to one’s economic success? Will one’s financial success lead tohappiness directly? Personally, I don’t agree that one’s economic success is the onlyprerequisite of one’s happiness in life.Happiness may fall into different categories. An old saying goes like this: “One man’s meat isanother man’s poison”. Happiness may mean being a successful and respected leader of acompany, or a stable and comfortable job in a large international company, or a big flatdowntown, a fantastic set of furniture, etc. However, happiness can also be a harmonious andpeaceful family, or a hospitable and considerate friend, or just a smile, a gesture, a hint. Infact, happiness may be composed of anything you could ever think of. At least, we may havetwo types of happiness: spiritual happiness and materialistic happiness. One’s materialistic happiness is dependant on one’seconomic success, though not completely. Without astrong and steady economic background, one couldnever imagine an easy and simple life, let alone anaffluent and luxurious one. If you aren’t able toafford a house, a car, or even a book, anybodywould be horrified at the mere mention of thiskindof life. Definitely, some people will feel happy rightaway if their basic demands for life are satisfied. However, we have to admit that these people stillneed to be successful materialistically to somedegree. On the other hand, one’s succe ss in economy may not necessarily lead to one’s spiritualhappiness. As we all know, money doesn’t get you everything and some even say that money isthe root of all evils. One’s financial success may be built on the sacrifice of time, health andlove, which are the three most essential elements of spiritual happiness. All of us are not newto this picture: a successful business man tasting loneliness alone with a broken heart. In my point of view, one’s economic success is only one of the key factors of happiness, butnever the only one. To be happy, one needs to be both spiritually and materially satisfiedthough each of us may have a totally different picture of happiness.。

It is perhaps the long-disturbing traffic issue that drives governments all over the globe to make great efforts in establishing or improving theirtraffic system. Nevertheless, I still cannot be enrolled in the camp that claims it is wise to construct railway rather than roads.

Undoubtedly, the railway construction, in a way, can be deemed as a win-win program for both the country and its citizens. After all, pared with other types of transportation, the transporting load of railage in a unit time is the largest and it is also the fastest approach of conveyance on land. Simultaneously, due to its strikingly strong operating system in running, it can scarcely entail any congestion. Evidently, it is advantageous to implement the plan referred to railway establishment. (80 words)但无论是铁路建设还是公路建设,都要取决于很多综合因素,比如城市发展规模、人口流动范围、地址环境等等。

雅思写作大作文必看高分范文TASK 2: 高分范文一Individuals can do nothing to improve the environment; only governments and large companies can make a difference. To whatdo you agree or disagree?Nowadays, an increasing number of people are concerned about environmental protection and regard it as one of the most important challenges. However, whether only governments and big firms have resources and powers to preserve our environment is a controversial issue. My view is that every single citizen could also make a huge difference. In the first place, it is clear that it is human activities that have the greatest impact throughout the history. Both environment contamination and conservation are the long-term process, and no single government or big company can meet this challenge alone. So whoever created the problem should be responsible for solving it; environment protection needs every one of us to continuously participate in.Moreover, the public’s wills and behaviors have critical influence on government’s policies and companies’strategies. For example, if everyone says “no” to plastic shopping bags and paper cups, the companies that manufacture such products will switch to environmental-friendly substitutes in order to survive in the market. However, that is not to say that governments and large companies cannot positively contribute. Indeed, governments can enact laws and introduce programs to raise the public’s low-carbon awareness; companies can promote green products to change the public’s consuming habits. But they also need every citizen’s appreciation and support to bring good results. In sum, no effort is too small when we are protecting the environment. Meanwhile, local authorities and organizations must shoulder their responsibility to develop low-carbon economy at the macro level. Only by doing so can we assure that we could hand this beautiful planet to our next generation and the next generation after.TASK 2: 高分范文二-----ArgumentationThe Internet has dramatically altered our lives over the past few decades. Although some of these changes have been negative, the overall effect of this technology has been positive. What are your opinions on this? The Internet has brought significant changes to our lives in recent years. However, there remains some disagreement as to whether the overall effect of this technology has been positive or negative. While there are certainly valid arguments to the contrary, I personally believe that the benefits of the Internet far outweigh its drawbacks and these benefits are twofold.First of all, it is an indisputable fact that the Internet has revolutionized the way we communicate. Despite the risk of social isolation-a problem occasionally seen in people who spend too much time at their computer terminal rather than relating to people in the real world-most of us have benefited greatly from e-mails and Internet chat programs like MSN Messenger. These incredibly useful and powerful tools of communication facilitate both contact with loved ones in faraway places and global trade. Moreover, the Internet has placed the entire world (and all of the information in it) at our fingertips. In earlier times, conducting research entailed long hours searching library shelves. Now, however, the same information can be accessed at the click of a button. Admittedly, not all of the information available on the Internet is reliable or helpful-there is a vast amount of material online that some would consider offensive or dangerous, ranging from pornography to instructions on how to make bombs. Nonetheless, I would contend that this free flow of information has generally been a very positive development.By way of conclusion, I once again reaffirm my position that the Internet has had a positive impact on modern life because of its influences on communication and the flow of information.TASK 2: 高分范文三-----ReportWith divorce rates and family breakdowns increasing globally, it is generally accepted that families today are not close as they used to be.Discuss the causes of this problem and offer some possible solutions to it.Divorce and family breakdown were virtually unheard of just 100 years ago. Now, however, almost half of all marriages fail. This phenomenon is symptomatic of the growing distance between family members in modern society. In this essay, I intend to explore the sources of this problem along with some possible solutions to it.Chief among the causes of this problem is the modern lifestyle. Today’s parents have to work harder than those of previous generations to support their families. Traditionally, one parent assumed the role of breadwinner, while the other-typically the mother-acted as the homemaker. Recently, though, double income families have become the norm. Consequently, an increasing number of children now grow up in a parentless environment. Little wonder, then, that they feel alienated. Another contributing factor is the passive and solitary nature of many modern forms of entertainment. In order to solve this sense of alienation within families, I believe we must first address its root causes. Perhaps the most effective method of doing this would be for governments to offer financial incentives to parents who choose to remain at home and take care of their families. Admittedly, such incentives would probably not fully compensate couples for lost income; however, they would at least soften the hardship of living on a single income and provide an alternative for parents who would rather remain at home but are unable to do so because of financial constraints. One further measure would be to promote more interactive leisure activities in the community through public education campaigns. In conclusion, I believe that this is clearly a problem of such complexity that no solution is likely in the short term. However, I believe that the measures outlined above would constitute a good first step.Successful sports professionals can earn a great deal more money than people in other important professions. Some people think this is fully justified while other think it is unfair. Discuss both these views and give your opinion. As a result of constant media attention, sports professionals in my country have become stars and celebrities, and those at the top are paid huge salaries. Just like movie stars, they live extravagant lifestyles with huge houses and cars. Many people find their rewards unfair, especially when comparing these super salaries with those of top surgeons or research scientists, or even leading politicians who have the responsibility of governing the country. However, sports salaries are not determined by considering the contribution to society a person makes, or the level of responsibility he or she holds. Instead, they reflect the public popularity of sport in general and the level of public support that successful stars can generate. So the notion of “fairness” is not the issue. While those who feel that sports stars’ salaries are justified might argue that the number of professionals with real talent are very few, and the money is a recognition of the skills and dedication a person needs to be successful. Competition is constant and a player is tested every time they perform in their relatively short career. The pressure from the media is intense and there is little privacy out of the spotlight. So all of these factors may justify the huge earnings.Personally, I think that the amount of money such sports stars make is more justified than the huge earnings of movie stars, but at the same time, it indicates that our society places more value on sport than on more essential professionals and achievements. In many countries, the proportion of older people is steadily increasing. Does this trend have more positive or negative effects on society? In more and more developed countries we see the following trends: incomes rise, people get married later and have fewer kids. The result is the demographics change and the population ages. While having more old people sounds like a good thing (as they tend to be kind and warm-hearted), it can have a serious impact on economies and societies.Co nsider, for example, that in order for a country’s GDP to grow it needs to produce more goods and services each year. With an aging population and more people retiring, fewer are left to work, creating an economic hole. The result is that such countries have to rely on immigration to fill the gap and this is a less-than-desirable solution.Consider also, that as more people reach their twilight years they will face increasing health problems and this puts huge pressure on health care and other social programs. In most countries the government pays for at least some of the costs of health care, not to mention things like pensions, all of which means a big bill someone has to pay for.To be fair, however, we should be careful not to direct our anger towards old people themselves. Old people can still make contributions to society, whether it means helping look after grandchildren, working part time or even doing voluntary work. On an individual level, old people can be a real treasure. To sum up, governments should recognize the challenges of an aging society and take the appropriate action. But in addition to fixing the short-term impact of an older society, they should also look at the bigger picture and do their best so that in the future we have a better age balance.。

雅思考试写作范文1there has long been controversy over the legality and apparent acceptance of tobacco in society .some hold that cigarettes and other tobacco containing products should be banned, that is, treated as agree with this point of view for the following reasons:although cigarettes do not offer as intense an effect as drugs like heroin and cocaine, they rank higher in the level of dependence it creates in the of smokers try to rid themselves of cigarettes but cannot, because of the physiological dependence they developed, chiefly imputable to its chemical explains why smokers continue their habit despite the numerous health warnings. furthermore, medical science has now proved beyond a doubt that smoking all the other causes of preventable deaths such as alcohol, illegal drugs, aids, suicide, road accidents, fire, and guns, cigarettes still account for more preventable deaths than all of those combined.more disturbingly, whilst the use of heroin is dangerous solely to the users, the use of tobacco endangers those who are in their vicinity as well. this phenomenon, known as passive smoking, nulls the counter-argument that putting one's own health at risk through smoking should be up to one's own individual have shown that the amount of second-hand smoke inhaled by a typical nonsmoker is equivalent to one cigarette smoked per day,and what is more, passive smoking can increase a nonsmoker's chance of getting cancer by ten to thirty two per cent.there are those who will say that the black market created by outlawing tobacco will produce deadlier cigarettes because the product standards of the bootleggers are not as should all bear in mind that legal cigarettes cause roughly four hundred thousand deaths a is hard to imagine the limited distribution provided by the criminal underworld could compete with this tragic figure.to sum up, the harm visited upon our society by tobacco usage is will be no solution other than to control tobacco much in the same way that the government now controls drugs which could allow people to remain attentive to the seriousness of the effects of these substances, and hopefully to prohibit their usage.雅思考试写作范文2Nowadays, the gap between the city and the countryside becomes more and more overt, which arouses colossal concerns. To understand t he solution, let’s take a closer look at the causes of the gap at first. The main reason of the gap is the unequal investment between city and rural area. China is a typical example. While more and more money is being invested to the coastal areas and big cities, such as Beijing and Shanghai, the lack of investment barriers greatly the society development of rural area and western regionsThe low education level partly sharps the gap. There is no doubt that the prime force of productivity is education. However, because of poverty, thousands of people go to work without graduating from primary school. The poorer, the few children go to school. This bad cycle finally leads to the dream of rich becoming a dream that is hard to realize. Moreover, the rural area is short of people with high quality. A survey proved that most of university students, whether they come from city or countryside, choose big cities instead of poor areas to work. The rural area can neither adept talent man nor attract talent man. No wonder the gap is increasing largely.Hence, The government ought to knock itself out to decrease the gap as soon as possible. First, balance the investment between city and rural area. In addition, the education level should be improved, especially pay attention on raising high quality people. Besides, let more people realize the latent capacity of rural area in order to attract talent and investment. The set up of CCTV channel12-western region channel is a good example.Only when the ways mentioned above are realized step by step, can the gap between the cities and the countryside be bridged.雅思考试写作范文3the birth of cars have made an enormous change to our the past,we travel from one place to another only by foot, nowaday, cars can do it .its goes withour saying that the invention of cars bring great benefit to all of as proverb goes:no garden without is not exception.owing a car has a lot of one thing, car provide us the most convient way of can get around freely without spenting a lot of always found driving is so another, its the comfortable to drive a always can stay warm and dry even in rainy whether,in addition, drivers are usually safe in their cars when they are out at night.Cars bring the human merits, their side-effects graudually come to the run a car need a lot of oil, which is getting less and increasing number of cars contribute the lacking of more and more cars are used, the traffic ecpecially in big cities is getting heaver and heavier, which lead to the serious social problem--traffic addition, the inceasing numbers of cars ,which excaust sent a huge quantities of carbon monoxide into make the air of cities unbreathabe,it strip people contact with frensh air.therefore, the new energy should be explored to replace the oil so that our envionmental pollution can be avioded .and the strick law should be issued to keep the numbers of cars under heavier traffic can be solluted!雅思考试写作范文4Private cars vs Public trafficAs traffic problems become more and more serious in many cities of developed and developing countries, their governments have to try hard and loads of money and energy have been spent to deal with them.Firstly, it is not efficient for the commuters to use their private cars to and back from their workplaces. Occasionally we can see they have to sit on the wheels wasting time and fuel in a heavy traffic jam. At the same time, through burning the fossil fuels, green house gas CO2, CO1, acid rain gas SO2, fumes and dusts are being released into the atmosphere, all of which heavily overload the environment. Thirdly, with the increase of private cars, the road trafficaccidents are also rise dramatically. For example, in a city with 5000 cars, there will be at least 250 accidents happening everyday, which also burden the public healthy services. On the contrary, expected public traffic may be an ideal solution to these problems. For example city buses and railways are widely used or being constructed by many cities. People can take buses easily, which can be found every 10 minutes or less in the peak time. Actually, Nottingham Transport Company is building its own light railway in the city, which is announced by the speak man of the company, “It will be completed in the next year, the tickets will be very competitive and at the same time the travel will be very safe and comfortable.”On the other hand, public traffic had its own disadvantages. Usually it cannot provide door-to-door service. It is inconvenient to go shopping by public vehicles. Sometimes you must wait a long time for the train. And quite a lot of people prefer to enjoy driving. In conclusion, developing the public traffic is a useful approach to deal with these difficulties. One possible way, if not the best, is to taxi private cars heavily and use these revenues to provide citizens cheaper public traffic services.雅思考试写作范文5Nowhere in the world has the issue of tobacco been so much debated as inour society. Nowadays, tobacco is more harmful than drug to people’shealth, therefore many people think that smoking is legal that is a direct andprimary reason to induce this kind of problem. The above point is certainlytrue; this essay will outline three reasons. The main reason is that tobacco is a silent killer to smokers. Tobacco isknown to be the probable cause of some 25 different diseases, and for some, such as lung cancer, bronchitis and emphysema, it is the main cause.According to a WHO report four million people die yearly from tobacco-related diseases, that is one death every eight seconds. Tobacco is significantlybecoming a greater cause of death and disability than any other single cause.Another reason is that more and more young people are under 18 years old who smoke cigarette have been blinded by the deceit of tobacconists. Tobacco among adolescents remains stubbornly persistent. Smoking among adolescents rose in the 1990s in several developed countries, such as China,Vietnam and Thailand . While new markets are being opened by the tobacco industry actions, old markets have not been closed. Tobacco is a global threat.Last but not the least reason is the increase in cigarette smuggling. Becauseof tobacco smuggling, the legal retailing and distribution systems are badlyaffected, and faced with increased lawlessness and heavy tax losses. This behavior severely affects the economy. In conclusion, the tobacco should be considered illegal. Perhaps a pack ofcigarettes is less harmful than another drug, but tobacco is actually thebiggest killer of all the drugs.雅思考试写作范文6travelling to a different culture can be an overwhelming, indeed, even an intimidating is very easy for misunderstandings to occur, and tourists are often deterred from places of cultural interest through fear of offending the indigenous would argue,it is up to the locals to accomodate visitors by speaking their language, serving their cuisine, and generally making them 'at home'.without doing this, local perple can be considered as unfriendly and viewed with suspicion by they are dissuaded from staying, which is ultimately detrimental to the local community,as the tourists take their spending-money with them.the counterview argues that acting naturally does not necessarily equate with being a local person wishes to live their life as his or her ancestors have done for centuries then visitors should show respect and allow them to do fact, many would argue that immersing one's self in a different culture is vital in order to truly appreciate is gained bytravelling, potentially, thousands of miles to experience the same language, food and culture that could have been found a few miles down the road from one's is a waste ofmoney, nothing is learned from the experience, and the memories saved will be less vivid. this is the point of view i it is vital for many countries' economies to welcome tourists,it does not have to imitate them so as to encourage their travellers have the right mind-set and show respect, all they need to do is to let the locals carry out their day-to-day lives to gain many insights into the this way, visitor and host can mutually benefit each other, through an increased income, and an enriching experience,respectively.雅思考试写作范文7Recent years, because traffic is convenient day-by-day, people have a more chance to travel around the world. The plane can make us reach any corner of the earth in a short time. Some people think visitors to others countries should imitated local custom and behaviors. Some people disagree; they think the host country should welcome culture different. As the a famous saying goes: Do as they do at Rome. The knowledge of local custom can help outside person adapt to the new environment rapidly. Moreover, each place has the own unique culture, may keep in touch more ideology and culture through the local folkways and customs. For instance, a Chinese people came to Britain, he can imitate British life style. Inthis way, He can understand British habit more thoroughly, thus, make himself live a more comfortable life in Britain. On the other hand, the outside thought has a lot of positive influence on local culture too. For example, the outside thought could bring the new theory and inject vigor into local culture. The exchanges of outside thought and traditional culture can help people to find out about the culture of other areas and countries.Making a general survey of human history, it is a positive trend that the nationality has been merging all the time. So, we should not only propagate local culture for the outside people but also study outside culture and custom. In this way, the earth would become a family, all the people would get along harmoniously.雅思考试写作范文8nowaday,the culture shock exists between the tourists and host people consider should try to model themselves on the local culture and totally agree with the above point.firstlly,by abserving and understanding of local culture, the tourists can reduce the chance of offending the locals and misunderstanding consiously and manchu area of china, people think the dog is their you come there, you must always show respects and love to dog, otherwise it will lead to the embarrassment and conflict.secondly, understanding and following the activites of local people can show our respects to doing things with their way,we will be easy to establish the good relationship with local residents often feel friendly when their culture are imitated and are unconsiously bring us into the members of them.in addition, imitating can let us gain insigts into other not only can know whats people's life is like in other counties,we also can be enlarged our knowledge and broaded our horizon, which will be cherish wealth in our life.to sum should adjust themselves adapt to the local habits and customs, which will make them fully enjoy their travel and live in harmony!雅思考试写作范文9Along with the mass use of computer technology in education circles, we are delighted to witness the uncountable conveniences be brought by computer. Some people even argue that teacher will not be important in classroom any more. Is this reasonable? Personal speaking, I oppose holding such a ridiculous conclusion. In the first place, the feature of teaching defines teachers as an essential part in education. It is well known that teaching is a process of mutual-communication: firstly, teachersimpart/initiate knowledge or ideas to students, then students should promptly transfer their feedback to teachers, moreover, teachers will give students the final interpretation according to their specific requirement. Besides, teachers also can (teach students in accordance of their aptitude). In contrast, what computers can do is merely to display materials which havealready stored in their EMS memory or mechanically execute operator’s commands. We actually can not image what our education will being if computers substitute teachers totally. As to another reason, it seems that teacher’s role as a supervis or is more and more overt. Computer is indeed a controversy, it not only can be an efficient education assistant, but also can become an addiction which includes too much violent and (pornographic propaganda). Youngsters do not mature fully in psychology, therefore, without teachers' supervision, many children would spend hours playing computer games or surfing unhealthy websites, which are regarded as a waste of valuable time and intelligence, instead of trying to have a good command of knowledge and skills. We never deny that computers are absolutely an available education implements, furthermore, the combination of teacher and computer technology will greatly improve our education quality. However, from all of the grounds of argument mentioned above, we can safely draw a conclusion that teacher will not be replaced by computer in the classroom. 雅思考试写作范文10Which element between nature and nurture plays the major role in children’s personality and development is always a controversial problem. Of course, which you prefer depends on your own experience, life style and emotional concern. Here, I would like to illustrate my point of view about it.Admittedly, different nature determines people have distinguished starting points in their lifetime. To beginning, i n light of medical research, a person’s blood type has considerable influence to his character. General speaking, for example, a person whose blood type is A means that his personality is amiable and tender probably. Besides, the physical condition, even a ppearance may influence a person’s development. Statistics shows that beautiful people are more confident than others, because they do not need to worry about the prejudice from public. Obviously, some parts of our personality have been decided when we born.On the other hand, although nature is important during the course of shaping personality, we cannot ignore another essential element, nurture. There are many factors which affect the development of children, both parental support and education being vital influence. It is reported that the kid whose parents are divorced is more likely has psychological troubles than those with a harmonious family. By contrast, as we all know, good education will positively cultivate a person’s personality and improve his self-restraint in a big way.In summary, from what has been discussed above, we may safely arrive at the conclusion that partly because of different nature, partly because of different nurture, people have their unique personality.雅思考试写作范文11The computer is widely used in education and some people think teachers are not playing an important role in the classroom. To what extend do you agree or disagree? With more and more extensive use of computers in education, some people claim that the importance attached to teachers has been jeopardized. Therefore, computers will replaceteachers in the classroom. However, it seems quite clear to me that learning from teachers is the most important way that cannot be substituted for students.Naturally, some people maintain that computer should instead of the old way of education. They hold that the strong function of the computer offers a new mode of education, which is more interesting, more vivid and more acceptable by children. The students will not face to the serious teachers and calm classes any more, which are replaced by a brand-new world offered by the Internet. In addition, this can decrease the investment on the foundational education and save the human resources and material resources. As an assistant, computers do help teachers with their work, but they can never replace the important role of a real teacher. The main functions of any computer are storage and calculation. It cannot think on its own anyway. All the teaching data stored in computers are the essence of teaching experience generalized by many teachers during their work. Hence, to assist education, what a computer can do is just to repeat the contents summarized by real teachers. In addition, each student has different talents and different defects, and accordingly, they may come across various problems during their study. Computer programmer designing the software, however, cannot predict these problems. Therefore, a single computer can never solve these problems without a teacher’s guidanceFurthermore, if the significance of teacher has been weakened, the number of teachers may be decreased, that is to say, many teachers may be laid-off. If such a case comes to reality, series of social problems will break out, such as the drop of working opportunity which will surely make the burden of whole society become heavier and heavier. In conclusion, although computer-aided-education has spread widely, teachers still play s crucial part in the classroom, which cannot and will not be replaced by computer.雅思考试写作范文12In this IT age, computers are widely used in the classroom in order to enrich the methods of teaching. This phenomenon gives some the illusion that the thing teaching students is no longer the teacher but a computer. Personally, I disagree with this opinion. As another machines, computer doesn’t enable to control itself. Though computers are capable of learning from their mistakes and improving on their performance, they need details instructions from human being in order to be able to operate. They can never, as it were lead independent lives, no mention teaching students. In case a computer lacks the control of a teacher, there is no difference between a computer and waste. Not only this, but computers, unlike a teacher, can’t solve a variety of new problems. Everything is developing in today’s society, including education. For example, a student suddenly asks a creative question that the computer isn’t programmed for, it can do nothing, while teacher can explain clearly though abundant teaching experience.Last but not least, the computer can’t communicate with students from emotion. Such as an eyesight or gesture of teacher can transfer his or her idea and feeling to students. In this way, students can feel more human touch in the class. In comparison, the computer is too dry and dusty to understand. All in all, no matter how nice a computer is, it can’t take the place of teacher. Of course, I don’t mean that computer is useless. In contrary, I believe it will become the most powerful assistants to teacher in further.雅思考试写作范文13Computer, the most exciting and significant invention in 20 century, will reshape our lives and our world. As a result, some people proclaim that computers should be involved into our classroom, and replace the roles of human teachers. However, I cannot agree with their point of view.Admittedly, as the useful tools, computers can become the optimum assistants for human teachers in the classroom. To beginning, vivid pictures shown on screen can motivate students’ interest and curiosity dramatically. Moreover, the combination of computers and Internet can provide children the abundant information. Although computers enjoy considerable merits, they cannot compare with human teachers for two main reasons. Among countless factors which influence my inclination, there is a most conspicuous one: computers are not as qualified as human teachers in academic fields. As we all know, students can get the final result of a mathematic question under the help of computers, however, they are still confused on the whole computing process. By contrast, our human teachers’ performance is much better in those cases. They not only can teach students how to analyze and compute the question, but also can remind them what are the possible errors that they may meet. Thus, human teachers are more adequate than computers in academic aspect. The second advantage of human teachers is they can guide students to deal with some psychological problems that they meet in schools. In China, sometimes, teachers even burden many responsibilities that students’ parents have. For example, as for the student with rebellious spirit, the important duty for teachers is to prevent the student from campus violence, even crime. Obviously, computers cannot do that.In summary, from what has been discussed above, we may safely arrive at the conclusion that the positions of human teachers are unshakable, and computers cannot take the places of them.。

雅思写作必背范文

雅思写作必背范文

雅思写作必背范文Some people prefer to spend their lives doing the same things and avoiding change. Other, however, think that change is always a good thing. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.Over the last half century the pace of change in the life of human beings has increased beyond our wildest expectations. This has been driven by technological and scientific breakthroughs that are changing whole way we view the world on an almost daily basis. This means that change is not always a personal option, but an inescapable fact of life, and we need to constantly adapt to keep pace with it.Those people who believe they have achieved some security by doing the same, familiar things are living in denial. Even when people believe they are resisting change themselves, they cannot stop the world around them from changing.Sooner or later they will find that the familiar jobs no longer exist, or that the 'safe' patterns of behavior are no longer appropriate. However, reaching the conclusion that change is inevitable is not the same as assuming that 'change is always for the better'. Unfortunately,it is not always the case that new things are promoted they have good impacts for the majority of people.A lot of innovations are made with the aim of making money for a few. This is because it is the rich and powerful people in our society who are able to impose changes (such as in working conditions or property developments) that are in their own interests. In conclusion, I would say that change can be stimulating and energizing for individuals when they pursue it themselves, but that all change, including that which is imposed on people, does not necessarily have good outcomes.( 7 )It is generally believed that some people are born with certain talents, for instance for sport or music, and others are not. However, it is sometimes claimed that any child can be taught to become a good sports person or musician.Discuss both these views and give your own opinion. The relative importance of natural talent and training is a frequent topic of discussion when people try to explain different levels of ability in, for example, sport, art or music.Obviously, education systems are based on the belief that all children can effectively be taught to acquire different skills, including those associated with sport, art or music. So from our own school experience, we can find plenty of evidence to support the view that a child can acquire these skills with continued teaching and guided practice. However, some people believe that innate talent is what differentiates a person who has been trained to play a sport or an instrument, from those who become good players. In other words, there is more to the skill than a learned technique, and this extra talent cannot be taught, no matter how good the teacher or how frequently a child practices.I personally think that some people do have talents that are probably inherited via their genes. Such talents can give individuals a facility for certain skills that allow them to excel, while more hare-working students never manage to reach a comparable level. But, as with all questions of nature versus nurture, they are not mutually exclusive. Good musicians or artists and exceptional sports stars have probably succeeded because of both good training and natural talent. Without the natural talent, continuous training would be neither attractive nor productive, and without the training, the child would not learn how to exploit and develop their talent. In conclusion, I agree that any child can be taught particular skills, but to be rally good in areas such as music, art or sport, then some natural talent is required.( 8 )Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of society. Others, however, believe that school is the place to learn this.Discuss both these views and give your own opinion. A child's education has never been about learning information and basic skills only. It has always included teaching the next generation how to be good members of society. Therefore, this cannot be the responsibility of the parents alone. In order to be a good member of any society the individual must respect and obey the rules of their community and share their community and share their values. Educating children to understand the need to obey rules and respect others always begins in the home and is widely thought to be the responsibility of parents. They will certainly be the first to help children learn what is important in life, how they are expected to behave and what role they will play in their world. However, learning to understand and share the valuesystem of a whole society cannot be achieved just in the home. Once a child goes to school, they are entering a wider community where teachers and peers will have just as much influence astheir parents do at home. At school, children will experience working and living with people from a whole variety of backgrounds from the wider society. This experience should teach them how to co-operate with each other and how to contribute to the life of their community. But to be a valuable member of any community is not like learning a simple skill. It is something that an individual goes on learning throughout life and it is the responsibility of every member of a society to take responsibility for helping the younger generation to become active and able members of that society.( 9 )Increasing the price of petrol is the best way to solve growing traffic and pollution problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree? What other measures do you think might be effective? There is no doubt that traffic and pollution from vehicles have become huge problems, both in cities and on motorways everywhere. Solving these problems is likely to need more than a simple rise in the price of petrol. While it is undeniable that private car use is one of themain causes of the increase in traffic and pollution, higher fuel costs are unlikely to limit the number of drivers for long. As this policy would also affect the cost of public transport, it would be very unpopular with everyone who needs to travel on the roads. But there are various other measures that could be implemented that would have a huge effect on these problems.I think to tackle the problem of pollution, cleaner fuels need to be developed. The technology is already available to produce electric cars that would be both quieter and cleaner to use. Persuading manufacturers and travelers to adopt this new technology would be a more effective strategy for improving air quality, especially in cities. However, traffic congestion will not be solved by changing the type of private vehicle people can use. To do this, we need to improve the choice of public transport services available to travelers. For example, if sufficient sky trains and underground train systems were built and effectively maintained in our major cities, then traffic on the roads would be dramatically reduced. Long-distance train and coach services should be made attractive and affordable alternatives to driving your own car for long journeys. In conclusion, I think that long-term traffic and pollution reductions would depend on educating the public to use public transport more, and on governments using public money to construct and run efficient systems.( 10 )Some experts believe that it is better for children to begin learning a foreign language at primary school rather than secondary school.Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?Traditionally, children have begun studying foreign languages at secondary school, but introducing them earlier is recommended by some educationalists. This policy has been adopted by some educational authorities or individual schools, with both positive and negative outcomes. The obvious argument in its favour is that young children pick up languages much more easily than teenagers. Their brains are still programmed to acquire their mother tongue, which facilitates learning another language, and unlike adolescents, they are not inhibited by self-consciousness.The greater flexibility of the primary timetable allows for more frequent, shorter sessions and for a play-centred approach, thus maintaining learners' enthusiasm and progress. Their command of the language in later life will benefit from this early exposure, whilelearning other languages subsequently will be easier for them. They may also gain a better understanding of other cultures. There are, however, some disadvantages. Primary school teachers are generalists, and may not have the necessary language skills themselves. If specialists have to be brought in to deliver these sessions, the flexibility referred to above is diminished. If primary language teaching is not standardised, secondary schools could be faced with a great variety of levels in different languages within their intake, resulting in a classroom experience which undoes the earlier gains. There is no advantage if enthusiastic primary pupils become demotivated as soon as they change schools. However, these issues can be addressed strategically within the policy adopted.Anything which encourages language learning benefits society culturally and economically, and early exposure to language learning contributes to this. Young children innate abilities should be harnessed to make these benefits more achievable.。

Some people think that animals should be banned from performingin circuses. Do you agree or disagree?范文:Well, you know, when it comes to whether animals should be banned from circus shows, I'm all for the ban.First off, let's think about how those poor animals are treated. They're often crammed into tiny cages when they're not performing. It'slike they're living in a prison on wheels! And the training methods? Someof them are just cruel. I mean, have you ever seen a big, majestic elephant standing on its head just because some trainer forces it to? It's notnatural at all.Secondly, we're living in a time when we should respect all living things. Animals have their own rights, just like us humans. They should be free to roam around in their natural habitats, not being dragged aroundfrom one town to another to do silly tricks for our entertainment.Sure, some might say that circus animals are well cared for and it's a tradition to have them in circuses. But come on! Tradition or not, if it involves making animals suffer, it's time to change. So, in a nutshell, yep, ban those animals from circuses for good.二、雅思大作文讨论双方观点并给出自己观点类(以“线上学习和线下学习哪个更好”为例)题目: Some people believe that online learning is more effective than traditional classroom learning. Others think that traditional classroom learning is still the best. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.范文:Hey there! So, we've got this big debate about online learning and traditional classroom learning.Let's start with the folks who think online learning is the bomb. Well, they've got some good points. For one thing, it's super convenient. You can roll out of bed in your pajamas, grab a cup of coffee, and start learning. No need to commute to school or deal with traffic jams. And there are so many resources available online. You can watch videos from all over the world, and you can learn at your own pace. If you don't get something the first time, you can just rewind and watch it again. It's like having a personal learning genie. But then there are those who swear by traditional classroom learning. And they're not wrong either. In a classroom, you get to interact with your teachers and classmates face to face. There's something really special about asking a question and getting an immediate answer. And you can have group discussions, which are a lot of fun. You learn from other people's ideas, and sometimes you end up having a good laugh too. Plus, the classroom environment kind of forces you to focus. There's no way you can just turn off your camera and go do something else like you might be tempted to do in an online class. As for me, I think it depends on the person. If you're a really self disciplined person, online learning can be great. But if you need that extra push and you love the social aspect of learning, then traditional classroom learning is the way to go. It's like choosing between a comfypair of slippers (online learning) and a pair of stylish boots (classroom learning). Both have their charm, but different people will preferdifferent things.三、雅思小作文柱状图(以描述不同年龄段人群使用社交媒体的时长为例)题目: The bar chart shows the amount of time different age groups spend on social media per day.范文:Well, take a look at this bar chart. It's like a snapshot of our social media crazy world. For the younguns, the teenagers, they're on social media for what seems like forever. I mean, it's like they're glued to their phones. The bars show that they spend a whopping three hours or more on social media every day. They're probably chatting with their friends, posting selfies, and checking out the latest trends. Then we've got the young adults, in their 20s and 30s. They're not too far behind. They still spend a good two to three hours on social media daily. I guess they're using it for networking, keeping up with the news, and sharing pictures of their cool vacations or new pets.As for the middle aged folks, in their 40s and 50s, they seem to be a bit more restrained. They spend around one to two hours on social media. They might be using it to stay in touch with family members or to join some hobby related groups. And finally, the oldies, the over 60s. They're the least active on social media, spending less than an hour a day. I can just picture them trying to figure out how to post a simple message or like a photo. It's kind of cute, really.Overall, it's clear that age plays a big role in how much time people spend on social media. The younger you are, the more likely you are to be a social media addict. But who can blame them? Social media is like a whole new world these days.。

剑三C3- Test 2 P28-P162When a country develops its technology; the traditional skills and ways of life die out. It is pointless to try and keep them alive. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?Overall, I disagree with tho9e opinion expressed. I would like to begin by pointing out that ‘traditional skills and ways of life’ are not automatically of one country, but of a culture or community. In many ways, the history of civilisation is the history of technology: from the discovery of fire to the invention of the wheel to the development of the Internet, we have been moving on from previous ways of doing things. Some technologies, such as weapons of mass destruction, are of negative impact. Others, such as medical advances, positively help people to live better or longer, and so very much help traditional ways of life. Surely, few people would seek to preserve such traditional as living in caves!Interestingly, technology can positively contribute to the keeping alive of traditional skills and ways of life. For example, the populations of some islands are too small to have normal schools. Rather thanbreaking up families by sending children to the mainland, education authorities have been able to use the Internet to deliver schooling online. In addition, the Internet, and modern refrigeration techniques, are being used to keep alive the traditional skills of producing salmon; it can now be ordered from, and delivered to, anywhere in the world. In conclusion, without suggesting that all technology is necessarily good, I think it is by no means ‘ pointless’, in any way, to try to keep traditions alive with technology. We should not ignore technology, because it can be our friend and support our way of life.剑桥C3, Test3, P74-P164You should spend about 40 minutes on this task. Present a written argument or case to an educated reader with no specialist knowledge of the following topic.·In many countries children are engaged in some kind of paid work. Some people regard this ad completely wrong, while others consider it as valuable work experience, important for learning and taking reposibility.·What are your opinions on this? You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence. You should write at least 250 words. The issue of children doing paid work is a complex and sensitive one. It is difficult to say who has the right to judge whether children working is "wrong” or "valuable”. Opinions will also differ as to "learning "benefits: nodoubt teachers and factory owners, for example, would you have varying concerns. An important consideration is the kind of work undertaken. Young children doing arduous and repetitive tasks on a factory production line, for example, are less likely to be ‘learning’ than older children helping in an old people’ home. There are health and safety issues to be considered as well. It is an unfortunate fact that many employers may prefer to use the services of children simply to save money by paying them less than adults and it is this type of exploitation that should be discouraged. However, in many countries children work because their families need the additional income, no matter how small. This was certainly the case in the past in many industrialized countries, and it is very difficult to judge that it is wrong for children today to contribute to the family income in this way.Nevertheless, in better economic circumstances, few parents would choose to send their children out to full-time paid work. If learning responsibilities and work experience are considered to be important, then children can acquire these by having light, part-time jobs or even doing tasks such as helping their parents around the family home, which are unpaid, but undoubtedly of value in children's development.Test A P113-P168Some people believe that children’s leisure activities must be educational; otherwise they are a complete waste of time.Do you agree or disagreeToday, education has become a priority for many parents seeking to secure a good future for their children in this rapidly changing world. They believe that if their children apply themselves and work hard at school, then they will increase their opportunities for going to higher education and eventually getting a good job. Of course they are right, and as access to the best education and best jobs is becoming more competitive, then it is true that children have to make the best of their study time when they young. However, the parents who do not allow their children sufficient free time for leisure activities outside school hours, are misguided. Such activities are far from being a waste of time for the children simply because they are not academic. It is important to remember that children need to develop skills other than intellectual ones, and the best way to do this is through activities such as sports, games and playing with other kids. If they cannot playmake-believe games, how can they develop their imagination? How can they learn physical co-ordination or learn important social lessons about winning and losing if they do not practise any sports? Many children form strong, personal relationship with friends they play with, and without the opportunity to do this, they could grow up emotionally immature or unformed. Finally, I think it is also important to remember that children need to relax as well as work. If everything they do must have some educational or academic relevance, then they will soon get tired of studying altogether, which is the last thing parents would want. (255)剑四C4 –Test 2 P55-P165Happiness is considered to be very important in life. Why is it difficult to define? What factors are important in achieving happiness?Happiness is very difficult to define, because it means so many different things to different people. While some people link happiness towealth and material success, others think it lies in emotions and loving personal relationships. Yet others think that spiritual paths, rather than either the material world or relationships with people, are the only way to true happiness.Because people interpret happiness for themselves in so many different ways, it is difficult to give any definition that is true for everyone. However, if there are different kinds of happiness for different individuals then the first step in achieving it would be to have a degree ofself-knowledge. A person needs to know who he or she is before being able to know what it is that makes him or her happy.Of course, factor such as loving relationships, good health, the skills to earn a living and a peaceful environment all contribute to our happiness too. But this does not mean that people without these conditions cannot be happy.Overall, I think an ability to keep clear perspectives in life is a more essential factor in achieving happiness. By that I mean an ability to have a clear sense of what is important in our lives (the welfare of our families, the quality of our relationships, making other people happy, etc.) and what is not (a problem at work, getting annoyed about trivial things, etc.).Like self-awareness, this is also very difficult to achieve, but I think these are the two factors that may be the most important for achieving happiness.C4, P101-169In many countries schools have severe problems with student behaviour. What do you think are the cause of this? What solutions can you suggest?Poor student behaviour seems to be increasingly widespread problem and I think that modern lifestyles are probably responsible for this.In many countries, the birth is decreasing so that families are smaller with fewer children. These children are often spoilt, not in terms of love and attention because working parents do not have the time for this, but in more material ways. They are allowed to have whatever they want, regardless of price, and to behave as they please. This means that the children grow up without consideration for others and without any understanding of where their standard of living comes from. When they get to school age they have not learnt any self control or discipline. They have less respect for their teachers and refuse to obey school rules in the way that their parents did.Teachers continually complain about this problem and measures should be taken to combat the situation. But I think the solution to the problem lies with the families, who need to be more aware of the future consequences of spoiling their children. If they could raise them to be considerate of others and to be social, responsible individuals, the whole community would benefit.Perhaps parenting classes are needed to help them to do this, and high quality nursery schools could be established that would support families more in terms of raising the next generation. The government should fund this kind of parental support, because this is no longer a problem for individual families, but for society as a whole.C4 G Test BP129-P173Some people believe that children should be allowed to stay at home and playuntil they are six or seven years old. Others believe that it is important for young children to go to school as soon as possible. What do you think are the advantages of attending school from a young age?In many places today, children start primary school at around the age of six or seven. However, because it is more likely now that both parents work, there is little opportunity for children to stay in their own home up to that age. Instead, they will probably go to a nursery school when they are much younger. While some people think this may be damaging to a child’s development, or to a child’s relationship with their parents, in fact there are many advantages to having school experience at a young age.Firstly, a child will learn to interact with a lot of different people and some children learn to communicate very early because of this. They are generally more confident and independent than children who stay at home with their parents and who are not used to strangers or new situations. Such children find their first day at school at the age of six very frightening and this may have a negative effect on how they learn. Another advantage of going to school at an early age is that children develop faster socially. They make friends and learn how to get on with other children of a similar age. This is often not possible at home because they are the only children, or because their brothers or sisters are older or younger. So overall, I believe that, attending school from a young age is good for most children. They still spend plenty of time at home with their parents, so they can benefit from both environments.剑五Test 2 P53- P165剑五范文In some countries young people are encouraged to work or travel for a year between finishing high school and starting university studies. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages for young people to do this.It is quite common these days for young people in many countries tohave a break from studying after graduating from high school. This trend is not restricted to rich students who have the money to travel, but is also evident among poorer students who choose to work and become economically independent for a period of time. The reasons for this trend may involve the recognition that a young adult who passes directly from school to university is rather restricted in terms of general knowledge and experience of the world. By contrast, those who have spent some time earning a living or traveling to other places have a broader view of life and better personal resources to draw on. (Furthermore,) They tend to be more independent, which is a very important factor in academic study and research, as well as giving them an advantage in terms of coping with the challenges of student life. However, there are certainly dangers/risks in taking time off at that important age. Young adults may end up never returning to their studies or finding it difficult to readapt to an academic environment. They may think that it is better to continue in a particular job, or to do something completely different from a university course. But overall, I think this is less likely today, when academic qualifications are essential for getting a reasonable career. My view is that young people should be encouraged to broaden their horizons. That is the best way for them to get a clear perspective of what they are hoping to do with their lives and why. Students with such a perspective are usually the/tend to be the most effective and motivated ones and taking a year off may be the best way to gain this.TEST4 P99 P169Nature VS. nurtureToday(剑五范文)Research indicates that the characteristics we are born with have much more influence on our personality and development than any experiences we may have in our life.Today the way we consider human psychology and mental development is heavily influenced by the genetic sciences. We now understand the importance of inherited characteristics more than ever before. Yet we are still unable to decide whether an individual's personality and development are more influenced by genetics factors (nature) or by the environment (nurture).Research, relating to identical twins, has highlighted how significant inherited characteristics can be for an individual's life. But whether these characteristics are able to develop within the personality of an individual surely depends on whether the circumstances allow such a development. It seems that the experiences we have in life are so unpredictable and so powerful, that they can boost or over-ride other influences, and there seems to be plenty of research findings to confirm this.My own view is that there is no one major influence in a person's life. Instead, the traits we inherit from our parents and the situations and experiences that we encounter in life are constantly interacting. It is the interaction of the two that shapes a person's personality and dictates how that personality develops. If this were not true, then we would be able to predict the behaviour and character of a person from the moment they were born.In conclusion, I do not think that either nature or nurture is the major influence on a person, but that both have powerful effects. How these factors interact is still unknown today and they remain largely unpredictable in a person's life.General training P127 P173剑五范文Nowadays we are producing more and more rubbish. Why do you think this is happening? What can governments do to help reduce the amount of rubbish produced?I think it is true that in almost every country today each household and family produces a large amount of waste every week. Most of this rubbish comes from the packaging from the things we buy, such as processed food. But even if we buy fresh food without packaging, we still produce rubbish from the plastic bags used everywhere to carry shopping home. The reason why we have so much packaging is that we consume so much more on a daily basis than families did in the past. Convenience is also very important in modern life, so we buy packaged or canned foodthat can be transported from long distances and stored until we need it, first in the supermarket, and then at home. However, the amount of waste produced is also a result of our tendency to use something once and throw it away. We forget that even the cheapest plastic bag has used up valuable resources and energy to produce. We also forget that it is a source of pollution and difficult to dispose of.I think, therefore, that governments need to raise this awareness in the general public. Children can be educated about environmental issues at school, but adults need to take action. Governments can encourage such action by putting taxes on packaging, such as plastic bags, by providing recycling services and by fining households and shops that do not attempt to recycle their waste. With the political will, such measures could really reduce the amount of rubbish we produce. Certainly nobody wants to see our resources used up and our planet poisoned by waste.剑六Today, the high sales of popular consumer goods reflect the power of advertising and not the real needs of the society in which they are sold. To what extent do you agree or disagree?Nowadays, there are lots of advertisements on television or on the streets. Some people think that the advertising boosts the sales of goods and it encourages people to buy things unnecessarily. This arguments may be true. In my country, many advertising companies produce advertisements with famous and popular actors or singers. People, especially youngsters, buy goods that their favourite singer advertise, although they do not really need the products. Also, on the television screen, a product may look gorgeous and good quality. As a result of it, people often buy goods without enough consideration. Consumers may not actually need it but they buy goods impulsively soon after they watch the advertising. Furthermore, as many customers buy a particular product due to its advertising campaign, the other people may be affected by the trend, even if the product is not of the real needs of the society. On the other hand, there are various aspects against these arguments. Moreover, it is people’s choice to make a decision to buy goods. Advertising may be not a cause of customers’ buying habits. Individuals have their own spending habits. If they have got enough disposable income, then the right to make a decision is given to them. No one actually can judge whether the goods sold are the real needs of the society or not.In addition, as there should be a limited amount of disposable income consumers are able to spend, people try to allocate their budgets. They cannot be simply swayed by those advertisements. In conclusion, as customers have their own strong opinions and standard of good quality goods, it is better to leave them to make their own decision in buy goods. It is fairly difficult to say everyone is swayed by advertising and buy good impulsively. However, in sensitive area of businesses such as toy industries, it may be necessary to band advertising to those children as children have not got enough ability to control themselves or to know what they need. So the notion of ‘fairness’ is not the issue. Those who feel that sports stars’ salaries are justified might argue that the number of professionals with real talent are very few, and the money is a recognition of the skills and dedication a person needs to be successful. Competition is constant and a player is tested every time they perform in their relatively short career. The pressure from themedia is intense and there is little privacy out of the spotlight. So all of these factors may justify the huge earnings.Personally, I think that the amount of money such sports stars make is more justified than the huge earnings of movie stars, but at the same time, it indicates that our society places more value on sport than on more essential professions and achievements.翻译:在媒体不断地推波助澜下,我国的许多职业运动员已成为了明星和名人。

大作文1题目:Children who grow up in families which are short of money are better prepared to deal with the problems of adult life than children who are brought up by wealthyparents. To what extent do you agree or disagree?参考范文:Some feel that the children of low income families are better equipped to deal with difficulties posed by the “real world” when they grow up and they also believe the privileged children of wealthy families are less fit to deal with these difficulties. The implications and veracity of this argument seem self-evident,but in fact require closer examination. The popular wisdom is that children of poorer families learn early on the value of a buck ,and are thus naturally better suited to stretching money when times get tough in adulthood. Inversely, the children of wealthy families, thoseborn with a silver spoon in their mouths, are believed to be completely ignorant of the tentimes erroneously expecting the same situation in adulthood. They are believed to be prone to overspending and financial irresponsibility. This belief, though logical, overlooks one key point which is,of course, education. The basis of this argument is,of course, knowing the value of money ,and the idea that children of the poor know this, and those of the wealthy do not.Who though,is in a better positionto teach their children the value of money, someone skilled in earning and keeping it,the wealthy parent,or someone who can not seem to acquire it,the poor parent? Both wealthy and poor children are equally likely to acquire an education in money, whether it is formal,or in the school of hard knocks. Conversely, both children are as likely to ignore this education.A poor child may believe that one can get along,if not as easily, without wealthy.A wealthy child may be well trained by a parent steepedin the knowledge of money management, the key to developing this skill is education.2题目 Everyone complains about taxes, yet think about what would happen if there were no longer an income tax. In a 250-word essay, discuss the positive effects of an income tax, the negative effects, or both.参考范文It hurts to look at a paycheck and see how much of it was taken out for income tax. That money could have paid some important bills. It is easy to dream of doing away with the income tax and keeping all that money for ourselves. If there were no income tax, however, the government would have a lot less to spend. The money we send to Washington seems to fall into a black hole and disappear. Actually, though, many people depend on it. The money pays the salaries of government employees, who provide services from drug control to highway building. It supports our military defense. Also, much of the money is returned to people in the form. of student loans, veterans' benefits, and payments to farmers, for example. The government has been working to cut its budget lately. With every cut, someone complains loudly. So if the income tax were eliminated, other taxes would have to make up for it. Paying those other taxes would also hurt. Sales taxes fall most heavily on poor people. Taxes on manufacturers only result in higher prices to consumers.Income taxes are not fun to pay. But doing without them would be worse. In my opinion, income taxes should be made as fair as possible. Then we each must "bite the bullet" and do our share.3 题目Nowadays there is more and more TV advertisement, and there is a lot of misinformation in some of these advertisements. Some people think that consumers have the right to know the correct information and that government should restrict the contents of these advertisements. What is your opinion?参考范文No one can avoid being influenced by advertisements and advertising exerts a tremendous influence on us. Recently, there are people who are of the opinion that public has the right to know the correct information of the advertisements and government also should restrict the contents of these advertisements. Personally I agree with this opinion for the following reasons. In the first instance, consumers have the right to know the correct information before deciding on whether to buy them. Advertisements are highly information that helps people to make choice before they go to buy what they need. If the advertisement exaggerates the products it also will persuade people into buying things, which they don’t really want.Secondly, any misleading advertisements will lead to the marketing tricks, causing chaos in the market. Too many misleading advertisements are barrio to distinguishing between decent products or products of bad quality. His bread in truth is made with soy flour, while he advertises it as white bread. These misleading information causes illegal competition.Last but not least, government should stipulate l aws in consumers’ interests. According to the laws, advertisements must be truthful. If the advertisements mislead consumers, government can impose great fine on them to set a lesson. In general, the role of advertisements is inevitable and undeniable. A good advertisement can be a bridge between business and consumers and helps keep business moving. So we need correct information and government also needs to restrict the contents of advertisements. Let misinformation of advertisements be far away from us.4 题目Most people have dreams of one day becoming rich. But does the average person have the ability to make a lot of money? Think about this question. Then write about 250 words describing your thoughts.参考范文When lack of money prevents us from having something we want very much, it is tempting to dream of being rich. It is hard to keep in mind that Americans are already wealthy compared with people in many other parts of the world. Our modern conveniences would have been the envy of kings in times past. Just the same, most people would like a larger. Whether most people are capable of making a lot of money is another question.People in average circumstances can often get ahead through education, hard work, and careful money management. But getting ahead is not the same as actually becoming rich.Only a small percentage of Americans could be called truly wealthy. Some people joined this group from ordinary beginnings. Usually they have done it by carefully riding some major development in the economy on its way up. In the past, great fortunes have been made in oil, steel, and railroads. Recently, some people have made millions in computers and real estate.Usually, though, it takes money to make money. Big investors often start rich and then get richer. Most of us cannot strike oil or start the next new technical breakthrough. Most people are not born into wealthy families, either. In America it certainly is possible to become more prosperous. But unless someone wins the lottery, real wealth is not very likely to come along.5 题目Surveys show that more people get the news by watching television than by reading the newspaper. Think about whether TV news shows are adequate as a person's only source of news. Write an essay of about 250 words that details your thoughts.参考范文Television news shows are dramatic and interesting. Watching them is pleasant and does not require the effort of reading. If television did not cover the news, some people would know nothing about what is going on in the world. However, television newscasters cover only the events that they have time for, and they prefer stories that include some dramatic pictures. Viewers are quickly bored with reporters who sit and talk into the camera. As a result, a complicated story is often cut short.Newspapers and magazines do a better job of explaining complex events. They can include details, and a person with a special interest can take the time to read them. Others can stick to the headlines.Reading allows more freedom of choice than television. The TV audience cannot decide which stories to watch. In broadcasting, "one size fits all". However, a person who reads newspapers and magazines can choose to spend time on business, sports, health, or the school board election, depending on special interests.Television provides a useful glance at what's happening. However, a person who has individual interests and who wants the whole story needs newspapers and magazines as well.6 题目For many years the nuclear family, consisting of father, mother, and children, was considered to be the normal family pattern in China's society. Yet in many other cultures and in our own in the past, three generations--grandparents, parents, and children--often have lived together. What are the advantages and disadvantages of three generations living together? Give specific examples in a 250-word essay.参考范文Three generations living together can have both financial and personal advantages. On the other hand, it can also have personal disadvantages. In years past and today, three generations have probably lived together mostly out of economic necessity or advantage. Sometimes a young family moves in with the older generation because thehusband and wife can't afford a place of their own. Sometimes grandparents move in because they aren't well enough or can't afford to live alone anymore. Occasionally, grandparents come to take care of the children so both parents can work. In times past, and sometimes today, three generations have lived together because they all depended on the same farm or business.Usually these arrangements do help solve financial and practical problems. Everyone has a roof over his or her head. Children and old people in need of care are likely to get it. Often a family can get ahead financially by sharing the work and the bills. In addition, a strong sense of family and of belonging can develop in everyone. What may be harder to work out are questions of who's in charge. If grandparents don't let go of some authority, the middle generation is likely to resent it. On the other hand, ailing grandparents may force their children to be parents to them and to their own children as well. If parents and grandparents disagree on discipline, children may be confused or angry. The personal disadvantages can be overcome. For three generations to live together successfully, everyone's needs must be respected.7 题目Sports are very popular in today's society. Some people believe, Winning is the only thing. Others believe, “It’s not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game. Is there a way in sports in which both opponents could win a game? Lose a game? Detail your thoughts on this issue in an essay of about 250 words.参考范文Sports include both national teams and the teams for the rest of us. The national teams are mainly concerned with winning and with money. The other teams are mainly concerned with winning and with money. The other teams provide different satisfactions.Being on a team helps people learn teamwork - to rely on others and to do their own part as well. Players learn both to win and to lose. When the team loses, the members learn that they can come back from a loss. They look for the reasons they were beaten, work on their weaknesses, and try again. When the team wins, the members can learn to be gracious winners and good sports.Sports are also for play. Most of us have work to do most of the time. Now and then we need to have fun. Sports can provide the time to relax. If a team helps people learn to work together, lose win, and have fun, it's a winner regardless of the score. But if players on a winning team have not worked together, if they feel that winning makes them better than others, if there was no joy in the sport, those winners are losers.Having the winning score is important. Being a winner as a person is worth even more. As a convincing maxim of friendship first and competition second suggests, we should adhere to equivalence of wining and losing.8 题目Some people live in one community in their entire lives, others move at least once; some quite often. Compare and contrast moving to different parts of the country versus living in one community in your entire life. Write about 250 words.参考范文Some people live in one community all their lives, while others move around almost as much as nomads. Both experiences have their advantages and disadvantages.People who stay in one spot can develop lifelong friendships, and such friends may lend a hand if trouble comes. They know each other's life history, and they judge each other for the kind of person each is, not for the image each projects.Yet spending a lifetime in one location can also lock a person into a limited way of life. Personal change may become very difficult. People with few experiences may develop a narrow outlook and find it hard to understand those who have different ethnic, racial, or religious backgrounds. On the other hand, moving to different parts of the country is usually stressful. A person may feel lost and uprooted in a place where streets, stores, schools, and churches all are different. At first there are no friends to help. However, those who do move learn that people in other places have a variety of outlooks. There is a chance to appreciate different ways of life and even to choose the way one likes best. For a person who moves to a different place year after year, the disadvantages of moving probably outweigh the advantages. But a few moves are probably worth the effort. By staying in each place for a length of time, people can broaden their outlook but have enough time to make adjustment and form. friendships.9 题目Materialism means placing great importance on material things such as clothes, property, and furniture. Many people complain that modern society is too materialistic. Are people in these times “what they own “or “what they are “? Explain your thoughts on the matter in an essay of about 250 words.参考范文Many people complain that modern society is too materialistic. Other people, they say, place too great an importance on material property. Rather than value values, these critics insist, people today value things. There is no doubt that we live in a material, consumer-oriented society. In economic terms, consumers use products; in everyday language, they acquire things: TVs, cars, clothes, furniture. This kind of materialism can actually be good for a society since it helps create jobs. When people have jobs, they acquire self-respect along with the money they need to provide the material things they and their families require. It is true, on the other hand, that many people have taken healthy consumerism too far. Materialism is evident when an otherwise intelligent person goes into debt charging things that he or she cannot pay for. Materialism is evident when people insist on buying a particular designer label even though the same quality can be found in a cheaper product. Materialism is evident when people are judged and admired for what they own rather than what they are or can do.Even if society has gone too far in the direction of materialism, as some say, the individual person doesn't need to surrender. He or she can still value honesty, integrity, freedom, talent, quality, and all the other values there are to value and leave the materialism to others.10 题目The production and transportation of food has been greatly changed by modern technology. To what extent do you think this is a positive or a negative development?参考范文The production and transportation of food has been greatly changed by modern technology. To what extent do you think this is a positive or a negative development? It is undeniable that the advancement of modern technology has given rise to countless changes of the production and transportation of food. While a host of people argue that the modern industrialization of food supply owes an explanation to the consumers of the products which have caused numerous controversies over the reliability and negative effects they may have on their consumers, I feel much obliged to be supportive as well as critical of such plausible but emotional perspective.Food industry has never seen such a boost in producing and transporting of food with advanced technologies. However, even if technologies are seen neutral, the compromises they have been made to meet the demands of business or more precisely the maximization of profits have been extremely detrimental to the reputation of the specific technologies being used. For instance, the junk food they provide in KFC, specifically the Nuggets. You don’t even know which part of the chicken you are eating, for the machines have made it impossible for us mere mortals to distinguish the ingredients from the shape and smell of the product. More significantly, the way it is made, transported and served is highly industrialized and standardized, that is to say, this kind of food is rather a product of the pursuit of profits than a nutritious meal intended for keeping people healthy and happy. The people who insist that the manufacturers of the products should take the full responsibility of the problems have unfortunately neglected the positive aspect of the modern production and transportation of food and other factors like lack of exercising which may well contribute to their conditions. The efficiency of reallocating resources against its scarcity to the demands of humans as a whole has always been an unassailable reply to the questioning of modern capitalism and industrialization. And admittedly healthiness is not solely connected to the intake of food. One’s exercising plan may carry more weight than his or her diet.Based on the elaboration of the argument, a conclusion can be easily made that food changes are less favorable when we compared with traditional diets, whereas they could be more welcomed if we be wiser when we start to appreciate the value of economic efficiency and balance our diets with regular workouts.雅思小作文1 You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. The table shows the results of a survey in 2004 which asked undergraduate and postgraduate students of a UK university whether they were satisfied with the facilities at the university. You should write at least 150 words.Response to 07.02.03 Writing Task 1The diagram gives a breakdownabout different attitudes among undergraduate and postgraduate students towards equipmentsof a UK college in 2004.While being questioned about the contentmentof study facilities, two groups of students (both graduate and undergraduate) seemed to share the same point of view, where [wv]approximately[w/v]85% of both students (two thirds of them showed their thorough support) expressed their satisfaction, leaving only around 15% students feeling in an oppositeway. However, divergenceemerged among college students and students who were after Master’s Degree when it came to questions about the school catering service and social establishment. The genders were more in agreement about the club facilities. Only 14% of women and 10% of men were unhappy with these, and the majority (64 and 63% respectively) were very positive. Finally, the female respondents were much happier with the club opening hours than their male counterparts. Almost three-quarters of them were very satisfied with these and only 3% were unhappy, whereas nearly 40% of the men expressed their dissatisfaction.Overall, the table indicates that female members are most unhappy with the range of activities, while male members feel that opening hours are the least satisfactory aspect of the club.3 Task1In Cool Climates special attention is given to the use of building materials that have a high “Thermal Mass”. Insulation is used on the outside of heavy materials such as co ncrete, brick or adobe. This kind of material stores heat and slowly releases it while external insulation ensures that all heat absorbed by the wall materials is released inside the building. Careful positioning of the building and large windows facing winter sunlight also assist to passively heat the house. The roof has an extreme angle to assist with snow runoff and roof overhang does not interfere with sunlight.Homes in Warm Climates require the opposite approach. Insulation and reflective roof material aims to keep heat from the sun out. Windows are placed under a wider roof overhang so that they are shaded from direct light in the day and so that cooler night air can move through the house when the windows are open. Construction materials such as wood and steel have low Thermal Mass and gain and lose heat quickly.4 Task1A “Solar Still” can be easily made to demonstrate that there is often water in even the driest places. We can collect water with little more than a sheet of plastic and a container. We first dig a hole several feet deep in the ground and place a container at its center. Put as much green living plant material as you can find around the container. Grass, tree leaves and other plants all contain water. In the day time the sun causes water in the plants to evaporate. Place the plastic film over the hole using stones to keep it in place as the diagram shows. Leaving a dip in the center, the plants’ water will condense on the inside of the plastic and will drip into the container. We can also collect early morning dew in the center of the dip too. Evaporation is the name of the process when water turns from a liquid into a gas. Condensation is the process when water turns from a gas to a liquid.5 Task1The low cost of land, easy access by both road and rail and the expected boom in housing planned for the West of G township, makes Site S2 an attractive choice for our supermarket. It is also geographically closer to Town H, the other large municipality in the area and avoids the industrial zones located North and South of G.Site S1, inside the town center, is not a suitable option due to the higher costs. And access for customers and suppliers will be extremely difficult now that it has been zoned a traffic-free area.Lower land cost will allow us to have large areas of parking to accommodate rapidly increasingprivate car ownership and attached facilities will enable owners to have their cars serviced while they are shopping.A free bus service, recreational park and first class shopping facilities will make shopping a family event and the clean country location will be part of a positive experience.6 WRITING TASK 1You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. The graph below gives information about cinema attendancein Australia between 1990 and the present, with projections to 2010.Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.Write at least 150 words. The graph shows percentages of cinema attendance at least once a year in Australia between 1990 to 2010 with projections for the future. The graph is described by 4 groups of different ages which are 14 to 24, 25 to 34, 35 to 49 and over 50 year olds. The youngest age group people have been going to cinema more than any other age groups and the percentage has been keeping very high at approximately90% since 1990. It is predicted to keep the high and to increase more from 2006.The middle age groups people have enjoyed going cinema between 60% to 80%. The percentage of age 25 to 34 group has been higher than the one of age 35 to 49 group but from 2006 the percentage of 25 to 34 year olds people will decrease while the one of 35 to 49 year olds people will increase and get higher than the other one.The oldest people seem to go cinema less than the other groups but the percentageof the attendance has slightly going up by 15% from 40% to 55% between 1990 to 2004 and it will keep increasing to 60% by 2010.Overall, it seems the younger age people, the more going to cinema.7 The chart below shows the figures for imprisonment in five countries between 1930 and 1980.Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below. The chart compares the figures for criminal imprisonment in five countries over a span of 50 years from 1930 to 1980.As can be seen from the chart, the figures for the United States, Canada and New Zealand stood out as being really significant and all the designated countries revealed rather dramatic changes in the imprisonment figures across the board over the 50 years.Firstly, the imprisonment figures of UK were on a steady rise. We see that in 1930, there were 30,000 cases, but in 1980, it became 85,000 cases. The period during 1940-1970 saw the fastest increaseSecond, the situation of Australia was quite similar to that of New Zealand, but not as dramatic. Here we see that in 1930, the cases for Australia was 70,000 while New Zealand had a very highnumber of 100,000 cases. Then in 1940, the figures for the two countries both dropped substantially, with New Zealand dropping by almost 45,000 cases. In 1950, New Zealand went on with its trend of slight decrease while Australia showed a minor increase. Later, in 1960, both countries experienced great rises and reached 70,000 cases and 78,000 cases respectively. The year 1970 saw an interesting scene: the figures for UK, Australia and New Zealand drew even at 79,000 cases. Then in 1980, we see that Australia dropped substantially while New Zealand continued its upward trend.Third, U.S. and Canada both had very big starting figures in 1930, 100,000 cases and 120,000 cases respectively. In 1940, U.S. rose rapidly to 130,000 cases while Canada decreased by 10,000 cases. In 1950, things changed dramatically, with US dropping by about 20,000 cases while Canada rising to 115,000 cases. In 1960, U.S. rose while Canada fell and the figures for both countries were 118,000 cases and 102,000 cases respectively. The two countries both saw substantial decreases in 1970, with US falling to 95,000 cases and Canada dropping to 83,000 cases. 1980 witnessed an astounding increase margin with US and the figure rose with great momentum to 138,000 cases and Canada climbed up to 90,000 cases. Thus we see that imprisonment in the five countries underwent many changes across the 50 years8 WRITING TASK 1You should spend about 20 minutes on this taskThe two bar charts show the percentages of male and female students in secondary and higher education for four different regions in the world.Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant. You should write at least 150 words.Sample Answer:The two bar charts demonstrate the proportions of boys and girls in two broad categories of education in four different regions of the world. In general, it is apparent that there are more girls than boys in either secondary or higher education across all the four areas, with two exceptions. In secondary education, Europe has by far the highest percentages of boy and girl students –95% and 100%, respectively – which are 9 and 5 times that of their peers in Sub-Saharan Africa. The situations in Latin America and East Asia are comparable –between 40% and 50% for both genders. While the former has slightly more girls than boys, the reverse is true for the latter.Turning to higher education, although Europe still takes the leading position, the percentages among the four regions are quite close to each other. Whereas Europe beats Sub-Saharan Africa。
