2 How do you comment on the saying “Early to bed, andearly to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise”?Though it may be true that “early to bed, and early to rise” helps you to stay physically healthy and mentally active, it’s really hard to say that it can also make you wealthy. Actually, many people who are able to make big money often have to work till late at night. Besides, it’s almost impossible for us young people to follow an “early to bed, and early to rise” schedule since we have lots of schoolwork to do every day. Even if we are free sometimes, we will not go to bed early but try to have some kind of entertainment together with friends or classmates.
---------------------------------------------------------------最新资料推荐------------------------------------------------------ Listening to the worldAfter you listen6 Discuss the questions.3 What advice would you give to people in order for them to get a good night’s sleep? To help people get a good night’s sleep, I will advise them to try the following tips: First, keep a regular sleep schedule. Second, make the bedroom sleep-friendly. Keep noise down, keep the room cool, and make sure the bed is comfortable. Third, try relaxing bedtime rituals. Fourth, eat and drink properly. Stay away from big meals at night. Try warm milk and whole wheat bread, avoid caffeine, and avoid drinking too much liquid in the evening.

Listening to the worldAFTER you view5 Discuss the questions.1 Since there are so many different forms of greeting in the world, how do you make sure you do it properly with different people? There are a few ways to know what are the proper things to do. You can start by asking yourself: Where is the person from? What do I know about his culture? If you really know nothing, you can watch other people and see how they greet the person. Sometimes, you can simply follow your host –the person whose home you are in or who organizes the event. But if you do make a mistake, there is no need to worry. The most important thing is your friendly attitude!

2 Is there any body language which would be important for a visitor to your country to know? Yes. For example, in Chinese culture, when we greet someone especially a stranger, we traditionally will only shake hands with him / her. We don’t kiss the person on the cheek(s) or hand(s) or forehead. It is important for people from other cultures to know this, so that they won’t have the wrong feeling that we aren’t hospitable enough to them.

I’d feel better if we could work out how much is owed and then you could pay me back a little each week, you know, however much you can afford. How does that sound?” He also softens his message by using a number of fillers and modifiers, and very polite forms of expression throughout the whole conversation.
