Ⅰ. Analysis of the teaching material
In the unit, the main words are “warm, hot, cool, cold, spring, summer, fall, winter”. The main structures are “What’s the weather like in spring?” “It’s rainy in spring.”

The students of grade5 have learned English for almost three years. They can use simple sentences to express themselves. They’re interested in English and willing to speak English more.

2. Presentation
1) Ask a question:
What’s the weather?
Show a picture of spring.
2) Talk about spring.
3) Introduce summer wither pictures.
4) Show the picture of fall.
5) Play the tape.
Show the picture of winter.
6) Chant.
3. Practice
Each two students in a group, practice the sentences “What’s the weather like in ..?”
4. Play the tape again.
1) Role-play.
2) Ask a question: What’s your favorite season?
a) Sing a song.
b) Encourage students to find the beauty in each season.

1.Practice the dialogues with your partner.
