THE GREAT WALL
When it comes to the symbols of Chinese culture, there is no doubt that the Great Wall is one of them.
The Great Wall is over eight thousand kilometers in length, lying on the mountains across northern China. It was built in the fourth century B.C. during Qin Dynasty to fight against the enemies coming from the north of China. However, it is regarded as one of the most important tourist spots in our country.
As the replacement of the dynasties, the Great Wall changed by time. So the Great Wall we can see today is not the same as it in two thousand years ago. What’s more, almost every dynasty paid a lot to construct the Great Wall in Chinese history, especial Ming Dynasty.
An old saying goes that one who fails to reach the Great Wall is not a hero. And everyone who has visited it cannot deny that they have been shocked by the wonderful vision and the imposing facade of it. It is a unique gift that our ancestors left for us.
