Dieters undertake to starve themselves of their own free will; so why are they so upset? Well, for one thing, they’re always hungry. You can't be hungry and happy at the same time All the horrible concoctions(调剂物) they eat instead of food leave them permanently dissatisfied. Wonder food is a complete food, the advertisement says. ‘Just put a teaspoonful into water…’. A complete food it may be, but not quite as complete as a juicy steak And, of course, they’re always upset because they feel so guilty. Hunger just proves too much for them and in the end they eat five huge guilt-inducing(导致内疚感的) cream cakes at a sitting. And who can blame them? At least three times a day they are exposed to temptation(诱惑). What suffering it is always watching others swallowing piles of mouth-watering food while you eat a water biscuit and drink unsweetened lemon juice!

Attention please. Ladies and gentlemen Our bus is getting close to Cambridge(剑桥),where we'll be stopping to eat. We'll have our lunch in the garden of a restaurant overlooking a small park that reminds people of a very famous tree. It's said that

General George Washington took command of the army in 1775 under its very branches. It was almost 100 years later, in 1864,that the city of Cambridge celebrated the event and from that moment on, the tree was called the Washington Elm(榆树). Later the tree was attacked by insects and finally destroyed in a storm. The remains of the tree were cut down and the growth rings were counted to find out how old the tree was. Well, it seems that if Washington had accepted the command of his army under this tree he must have done so on his knees. This particular elm couldn't have been over 3 0r4 years old in 1775.1t is a well-known fact that Washington took command under an elm tree, but unfortunately it couldn't have been the famous Washington Elm

Well, enjoy your lunch. Watch your step as you leave the bus.
