语法:

形容词和副词的最高级

1. 表示三者或三者以上人或事物的比较。

2. 常用of( in)短语来说明比较范围。

3. 形容词最高级前要加定冠词the (有形容词性物主代词或名词所有格修饰时the可以省略eg: my best friend), 副词最高级前的the可以省略eg: I jump( the) highest.

4. 形容词和副词变最高级的规则:

一般情况在词尾加est short shortest

以字母e结尾的词在词尾加st late latest

重读闭音节词词尾只有一个辅音字母时, 先双写该辅音字母，

再加est thin thinnest

以辅音字母加y结尾的双音节词，先把y改为i,

再加est early earliest

多音节词和部分双音节词，在词前加most

interesting most interesting

以形容词加ly构成的副词，在词前加most clearly most clearly 5. 基本句型

主语+谓语+the+最高级

eg: I'm the tallest boy in my class.

I run( the )fastest in my class.

主语+谓语+one of the+最高级(最...之一)

eg: Tom is one of the tallest boy in my class.

主语+谓语+the+序数词+最高级（第几大，长，远等）eg: The yellow river is the second longest river in China.

2. population 用法:

population作主语谓语动词用单三

eg: The population of the village is 5,000.

population与分数百分数连用时, 谓语动词用复数

eg: Ten percent of the population of the city are Chinese.

形容population的多少用large或small

询问人口数常用: What's the population of...

eg: What's the population of America?
