Introduction of repair list
Repair List is a very important document, providing requirements of the repair for the shipyard. So engineers and shipyard engineers should know how to make out a repair list correctly and have the ability to understand the repair items in it. We have voyage repair list, annual repair list, guarantee repair list, occasional repair list, and additional repair list.
For example: All cylinders to be cleaned and measured.
(I +III) Liner of No.1 cylinder found cracked to be
renewed. (I +II+III) Governor to be overhauled and reinstalled
We should know about the sentence patterns in the repair list.
The basic sentence structures
The name of the part to be repaired (I) + trouble (II) + to be done (III) + requirements or other (IV)
Fuel oil booster pump for main engine. Type: xxx. Delivery capacity: xxx cbm/h, horizontal gear pump. The discharge pressure of the pump can’t meet the requirements. The pump to be dismantled and examined. The driving gear, driven gear and both end bearings to be inspected, and to be renewed with ship’s spares if necessary. The clearance between gear and pump cover to be inspected and adjusted. The safety valve to be opened, checked and ground. After the pump is refitted in order, a trial run to be carried out.
