See the operation manual of the details. 5) That’s all for preparation of communication. Then if a communication command from the host computer is given, each Thermo-con will reply it.Figure1-2 Communication Connection (RS-232C)Host Computer RS-232CSymbolFG RD SD SG Thermo-con RS-232CRS CSShortPin No.Connector shell235SymbolFG RD SD SGFigure1-1 Communication Connection (RS-485)Host ComputerThermo-con No.1Thermo-con No.2Thermo-con No.3Internal connectionTerminating resistance 220Ω1/2WTerminating resistance 220Ω1/2WInternal connectionInternal connectionPin No.Connector shell125FG+-SGSymbolPin No.Connector shell125FG +-SGSymbol Pin No.Connector shell125FG +-SGSymbol Pin No.Connector shell125FG +-SGSymbolPin No.Connector shell125FG +-SGSymbolPin No.Connector shell125FG+-SGSymbolSymbolFG +-SGThermo-con No.16Specifications of Communication MethodHEC 2-12 Specifications of Communication Method・Standards ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・ ・Circuit type ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・ ・Communication type ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・Communication speed ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・ ・Character code ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・Parity ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・ ・Start bit ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・ ・Data length ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・Stop bit ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・ ・Block check ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・RS-485 or RS-232C Half duplex AsynchronousChangeable, 600,1200,2400,4800,9600,19200 bps ASCIISelect, Nil, even number, odd number 1bitSelect 7 bit or 8 bit.Select 1 bit or 2 bit. Sequence always starts from the host computer and each Thermo-con replies it.If communication data is processed normally, the Thermo-con returns specified response and if processing communication data is failed, no response is returned. When no response is returned to the host computer from the Thermo-con even if waiting for 3 sec., resend the data. The Thermo-con returns response after waiting for 50 msec. For communication of plural number of communication data, wait until the return message isreceived from the thermo-con to send the next communication data. It sometimes cannot return the messages properly when the communication data is received successively.Selection of Unit SpecificationThere are two cases in communication format, which are specifying unit No. and not.・When one Thermo-con is used, select “without secifying unit” and when two or more Thermo-cons are used, select “ with specifying unit”.・When several Thermo-con are used with without specified unit No.,correct control is not realized due to data conflict.・In the case of use with specified unit No.,ensure to coincide communication No. and each Thermo-con unit No.(1)Setting ChangeHost → STX COMDataETXCheck sumCR101 100 10-1 10-2 (H) (L)ACK CR<Specifying unit> SOH UT STX COMDataETXCheck sumCR101 100 10-1 10-2 (H) (L)← Thermo-con ACKUT CR(2) Confirming and readingHost → ENQCOMCheck sumCR(H) (L) ← Thermo-con STX COMDataETXCheck sumCR101 100 10-1 10-2 (H) (L) ACKCR(Possible to omit)Communication Format<Specifying unit>Host→SOH UT ENQ COM Check sum CR(H)(L)SOH UT STX COM Data ETX Check sum CR10110010-110-2(H)(L)Host→ACK UT CR (Possible to omit)・COM indicates communication command.・UT indicates unit No. of each Thermo-con. Unit No. is the No. to identify each Thermo-cons when2 or more Thermo-cons are linked by communication. Set this No. with second mode of Thermo-con within O-F. (UT is the code adding 30H to unit No.. 30H---3FH.)・As for symbols at communication, minus is indicated by “-“ (2DH by ASCII code) and plus is indicated by “0” (30H by ASCII code).・In case of setting temperature and offset with communication, data out of set range isn’t memorised. (If communication format is correct, ACK returns.)・When writing in EEPROM is specified, changed data is memorized in EEPROM each time. Since writing life of EEPROM is (approx. 1 million times), EEPROM is changed only when data is changed.3.4Calculation of Check SumCalculation range ---------------- From the second byte to ETXwhen there is no ETX, add before check sum.Calculating method---------------Take out the lower 1 byte of the total.eg.) A vessel with a flat bottom is recommended on the stirring hot plate for ideal heat transfer. Avoid metal containers or vessels with a rim around the bottom as these could cause damage to the stirring hot plate.NOTEThis unit contains materials which may emit a slight odor or smoke during initial operation. This will dissipate within a few minutes and will not effect the operation or performance of thehot plate.OperationBoth the temperature and speed controls are combination on/off switches and setting selectors. To select a temperature, turn the control clockwise to the desired setting. The lighted “heat” indicator shows when the unit is turned on. The control maintains a set temperature of the stirring hot plate by turning the power on and off over short time intervals. The greater the percentage of time the power is on, the higher the temperature. At the high position, power is on continuously and maximum temperature is obtained. From the "Off" position, the knob may be turned to either the right or the left. For fast heat up, turn the knob to the high position. When the desired temperature is reached, reduce the setting to the point where the temperature will be maintained. To select a speed, turn the speed control clockwise until the desired mixing action is achieved. The lighted “stir” indicator shows when the unit is stirring. Stirring capability from 100 to 1000 RPM. Unit comes complete with a stir bar that is coated with Teflon Fluorocarbon Resin.*CAUTIONWhen turning the control off, be sure the knob is in the "Off" position and the indicatorlight is out.NOTEThe 4" x 4" models do not have “Heat” or “Stir” pilot lights.*Teflon Fluorocarbon Resin is a trademark of E.I. DuPont de Nemours and Company.WARNINGRefer servicing to qualified personnel.Disconnect from power supply before servicing.4Replacement Parts ListingModel Number(s):SP46900, SP47200, SP46600 Product Name:Cimarec Stirring Hot Plates4" x 4" Series 622 Part #7" x 7"Series 640Part #12" x 12"Series 612Part #DescriptionPT464X1PT467X1PT470X1Top plate onlyEL622X1EL469X1A EL472X1A Element, 120VEL622X2EL469X2A EL472X2A Element, 230/240V~~EL472X3A Element, 208VEL622X3EL469X3A EL472X4A Element, 100VCNX60CNX60CNX60Control, 100/120VCNX61CNX61CNX61Control, 208/230/240VMT622X1A MT469X2A MT612X1Motor, 100/120VMT622X2A MT469X1A MT612X2Motor, 208/230/240VRS622X3A RS640X3A RS612X3A Rheostat, 100VRS622X1A RS640X1A RS612X1A Rheostat, 120VRS622X2A RS640X2A RS612X2A Rheostat, 208/230/240VKBX57KBX58KBX58Knob, stir controlKBX56KBX56KBX56Knob, heat controlCR622X1A CR640X2A CR612X4A Cord set, 240 voltCR622X3A CR612X3A CR612X3A Cord set, 230 voltCR622X2A CR640X1A CR612X5A Cord set, 120 voltCR622X2A CR640X3A CR612X6A Cord set, 100 volt~~CR612X7A Cord set, 208 voltCR612X8A Cord Set 120 volt (15 amp cord)~PLX97PLX97Pilot light, stir 100/120V~PLX99PLX99Pilot light, stir 208/230/240V~PLX98PLX98Pilot light, heat, 100/120V~PLX101PLX101Pilot light, heat, 208/230/240V Ordering ProceduresPlease refer to the Specification Plate for the complete model number, serial number, and series number when requesting service, replacement parts or in any correspondence concerning this unit.
