1) n. 谈论;言论;评述 make a remark 发表评论 e.g. They made a remark about the news. 他们发表关于新闻的评论。 2) v. 说起;谈论;评论 be remarked on 被评论
• A man can never have too many ties.
• can never…too…=cannot…too… 无论……也不为过
• 再多的领带对一个男人来说也不为过。
can never…too…=cannot…too…
• I can never thank you too much. 感激不尽。
• needn’t do 不必做… • You needn’t come.

• 1.做情态动词时,仅用于否定句和疑问句,
• 疑问式用need+人称+do? • 否定式用need not (needn't),如: • —Need we leave soon? • —Yes, you must. • —No, you needn't
• KATE: I want to catch that bus.
• JIM: Well, you mustn't cross the road
now. It's dangerous. A car may hit you.
•When you cross the road, you must look carefully.
remark & observe & notice
• 1) remark与observe都可以表示 “说,评论说”,它们比say要正式
• ‘You look good in this suit!’ She remarked /observed.
• 2) notice和observe都可以表示“注意到, 察觉到”,但有一定区别。
4、remind vt. 提醒,使想起
remind sb. of sth. remind sb. to do sth. remind sb. that… That remind me. 这倒提醒了我 。 词形转换:reminder n. 引起回忆的事物
• 1、Do you call that a hat?
他们决定给婴儿取名马克。
2)打电话叫,拜访 v. call at/ call on.

• notice指无意中“察觉到” • Did you notice her ring? • Did you notice how she was dressed? • I didn’t notice his leaving.
• 3) observe则可以指有意观察、仔细地看, 比notice更正式

1)粗野的,粗鲁的,无礼的 反 义词:polite be rude to sb. 对某人粗暴无礼
be rude about sb./sth. 对(某人、某物)无礼 She was very rude about my driving. 她对我的开车方法横加指责。
