一、一般过去时用法要点

1.表示过去发生、完成的事或存在的状态，与表示过去时间的状语

yesterday, last week, hours ago, just now ,in 2010等连用.

1)He went to the film last week.

2)What did you do three years ago?

2.表示过去经常反复发生的动作，常与always, usually, often,

sometimes, never等时间状语连用。

John always got up late, and never had enough time for breakfast.

一般过去时的特殊用法

1.在时间、条件、方式、让步状语从句中，表示过去将来的动作。

She said she wouldn’t go if it rained.

2.在某些问答中，第一句指的是目前的情况，用现在完成时。而第二

句指事情发生的具体时间、方式、原因或地点，与现在无关，要使用

一般过去时。

-Have you finished your homework?

-Yes, I have.

-Where did you finish it?

-At home.

3.追述逝去的人的事迹，常用一般过去时。

1)The book was written by Lu Xun.

2)Lei Feng was a good example for us to learn from.

4.宾语从句讲述永久性的真理或客观事实，不用一般过去时，必须用一般现在时。

1)The teacher said that the earth is round.

2)He often said that all roads lead to Rome.
