Today, standing here makes me feel really honored and excited. The title of my speech is Classifying Rubbish, Improving Environment.

1 In our life, a lot of rubbish, such as waste paper, plastic bottles ,batteries and so on , is produced every day . After we learnt the passage Make Our Environment More Beautiful, we found a lot of rubbish thrown into dustbins could be recycled in fact during our discussion. So we thought it would be better if we could classify rubbish. we told our idea to our teacher and he supported us very much . We became volunteers to classify rubbish. Firstly we got three big boxes and put them in a corner of our classroom. One is for waste paper, one for plastics and Coke cans and the other is for batteries. With teacher's help ,soon all the students took part in the activity of classifying rubbish .In a month , we collected three boxes of paper , a box of batteries and a box of plastics and Coke cans .We sold them for 28 Yuan and bought some young trees with the money . We planted the trees around our school. We were all spoken highly of by our school principals. Now we keep on the job and are all proud of improving environment.

2 The government has been doing a great job. And what about us? What should we do? It’s just one step to take, for you, for me, for everyone. If every tourist u ses less plastic bags, how much white pollution would disappear; if everyone tries to reach one place of interest on foot, how much clearer the sky would be; and if no guest asks the hotel to change towels every day, how much less detergent would be drained.

3 It is not difficult, right? It’s just as simple as the famous slogan, “Please take away nothing but your smile, and leave behind nothing but your footprint.” I believe that we all love our earth. So, now let’s turn our passion into action. If not us, who? If not now, when?

4 How to save environment? I think we should do the followings: First, it’s best to ride a bike to school, don’t take a bus or a taxi. Second, I will remember to turn off the lights when I leave the classroom. Third, in my free time, I will collect the empty bottles and waste paper for recycling. The fourth idea is turning off the shower when I ‘m not using it. Fifth, it is impor tant to save water and money. Also,
