2.Student Proposal
In the letter ,the student suggests the University to ……—Firstly, he claims that……—Secondly, he says……(注:如果*是学校通知,模板的第一句话应为:The university is planning to ……because原因1)……and also 原因2)……)

Yeah, and it sounds like a great idea. It’s really good for students in th at program.
所以前程百利小编认为,考生在备考的过程中应该积累一些在考试中经常出现的表示赞成的信号词比如it’s the right thing todo/it’s not a bad idea/it sounds perfect to me/ sounds likea great idea. I think it dose harm to/I think they shouldn’t/I don’t think it’s necessar y.
Students are busy at night。
I sure couldn’tfit anything into my schedule during the week. I’ve gotswimming practice most nights.

Using the example from the lecture, explain what behavior modification is and how it works.
From the examples we can conclude that pleasant consequence encourages the repetition of behaviors.

Theperson like me hsa no choice but to do sth.

托福口语TASK1-‐6答题要点及范例Task1审题15s准备时间,45s答题时间Task1的答题格式:Topic sentence:Personally speaking, 1句话Reason 1: First, 2句话Reason 2: Second, 2句话Reason 3: Third, 2句话( Summary): To sum up, 1句话【替换personally】:in my opinion, personally, as far as I am concerned, in my view, personally speaking, I believe, for me, I consider, from my perspective, from my point of view【替换first】:to begin with, firstly, first of all, the first reason is that【替换second】: besides, in addition, also, secondly, furthermore, what is more【替换third】: plus, additionally, then【替换to sum up】: all in all, in conclusion, in a word ,in brief, therefore, that’s why I…Which type of occupation do you think is more important to society, elementary school teacher, nurse or artist? In my point of view, I think elementary school teacher has a profound effect on society. There are two main reasons. Firstly, children are the future of a country; elementary school teachers undertake this meaningful responsibility to foster useful talent. Secondly, early education draws a lot of attention from people of different levels, because early education will have a great impact on the development of children’s intelligence, the shape of children’s personality, and the way children behave, so in this way, elementary school teachers are no doubt important.People you admire. From my point of view, Jackie Chan is my role model, I admire him from watching his action movies, and since then I wanted to know more about him, the more I find out, the more important I think he is. Then I would like to introduce the reasons why I like him. First of all, he is known for his Chinese kungfu, the righteous and honorable image he creates/ portrays in his movies represents the spirit of Chinese Kungfu. Second, Jackie is a hard working, perseverant, and optimistic hero in my mind, his success results from hundreds of dangerous stunts, and thousands of injuries, sometime even threatening his life. But no matter how much he suffered, his sense of humor can be found everywhere in his movies. Third, I think he is a hero not for me but for all Chinese, he dedicated his life to helping peopl e, he donates a lot of money to the places that are needed. All in all, he is famous person, a hero, a role-model in my life, I wish I could be a person like him one day. What are the benefits of having pets?I believe owning pets are beneficial for most people. There are several reasons for this. Pets can act as a stress reliever for many people. After a hard day of work, many people could relax by holding and hugging their pets at home. Pets can also help us to stay fit, especially in the case of dogs. We would have to take our dogs outside for walks and in the process we would stay fit in the process. The last benefit of owning pets is that it helps us to develop a sense of responsibility, for example we would need to feed them, take care of them and care for their well being when they are ill. The above are the benefits of owning pets.Type of movie you do not like. The type of movie I dislike the most are horror movies. There are several reasons for this. First horror movies would always cause me to have nightmares, because the bloody and violent images would always linger in my mind and it may take a while to fade them away. Second, horror movies may cause a temporary depression, because this type of movie is psychological fear and it increases the chance to poison the viewer’s mind and make people sensitive when they are exposed to situations which are similar to the movie. So those are the reasons why I don’t like horror movies. The advantages of spending time aboard? In my opinion, there are three main advantages of spending time abroad. Firstly, it would broaden our horizon. We could experience a different culture by ourselves other than just reading about it from books. Secondly, it could increase our self-independence/self-reliance. Beyond the care of parents, we should learn how to talk to people, how to spend money wisely, how to handle stress, and how to resolve conflicts under a different culture. Thirdly, we can also make new friends that are much different from our original group of friends. Those are the reasons why I think living abroad can be beneficial. Do you agree or disagree with the statement?a)Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Students shouldalways study in quiet places. Use specific reasons and examples to supportyour position. [北美2008.6.28]Topic sentence:Personally speaking, I think students should study in a quiet place. Reason 1: First, students studying in a quiet place would give students an environment where they can focus on their own thoughts. Sometimes if a student can’t focus on their own thoughts they won’t be able to even begin their own studies.Reason 2: Second, a quiet environment would reduce the amount of stimulants that could distract the student. If there is a television, radio and computer all turned on within the room which the student is studying, that would cause the student to become less focused on their studies, it would instead cause occasional lapse in concentration and decrease the efficiency in their studies.Reason 3: Third, a quiet environment would place the students’ body in a relaxed stated compared with a surrounding that is filled with noise. If the student is studying in a room where there is a sports event on television or the radio, the adrenaline of the student would be increased as a result of the action within theevents.( Summary): To sum up, it is better for students to study in a quiet environment.b)Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Children should berequired to help with household tasks as soon as they are old enough to do so.Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.[北美 2010.8.21]Topic sentence:Personally speaking, I think it is necessary for children to help with the household tasks when they are old enough.Reason 1: First, completing household tasks teach children a sense of responsibility. Children that understand the importance of helping with household chores tend to be more responsible in their future life.Reason 2: Second, this would also help children develop the independence that would be necessary for their future. I have seen many classmates of mine that are still unable to take care of themselves when they attend high school. Some times their parents would come to our boarding school to bring them food and help them wash clothes.Reason 3: Third, I think it is a necessity for all children to assist their parents with household tasks. Most parents would try their best to provide the easiest life possible for their children, so children should understand the effort and hard work parents have invested in them and try to alleviate some of that pressure.( Summary): To sum up, I think it is more than necessary for children to help with household chores when they are old enough.2.Prefer类:prefer A or B?Ask yourself•study individually v.s. study in groups•Eating at home v.s eat outside•work at home v.s. work in an office•one long vacation/assignment v.s. several short vocations/assignments•Take classes early in the morning v.s. have classes late in the day•plan every detail of their vacation v.s leave most details flexible or open to change•Focus on one job v.s Chang from one job to another•go to universities or colleges in their hometown v.s. go to universities or colleges in new cities or towns•save money v.s. spend money•write paper v.s. give oral presentation•knowledge gained from experience v.s knowledge gained from books •shopping in a store v.s. shopping online•drive yourself v.s take a busa)Some people prefer reading newspaper or magazine to get news; othersprefer watching television or listening to radio to get news. Which way do you prefer and why? Include details to support you explanation.[北美2010.9.12]Topic sentence:Personally speaking, I prefer to watch television or listen to the radio to get news.Reason 1: First, television and radio are considered active media and can provide people with news immediately after it occurs, even in live situations. For example the Iraq war was the first fully televised war, TV allowed us to watch each battle and receive event coverage firsthand, whenever there was a new occurrence, the news was delivered immediately.Reason 2: Second, television and radio provides people with an additional audio presentation format that allows people to feel an emotional connection with the news events.Reason 3: Third, the print media is considered to be a diminishing media, while television, radio and the internet are the cornerstones of future media development. So growing up in the 21st century it should be a requirement for our generation to embrace the future instead of holding on to a decaying past. (Summary): To sum up, I prefer to receive news from television and radio compared to newspapers and magazines.b)some people think students should study in classroom and other believe theyshould visit museum and zoo, which one do you like?[北美2010.10.22] Topic sentence:Personally speaking, I think students should study outside, visit museums and zoos.Reason 1: First, some students may learn well just from listening and reading, butI think that hands-on experience would provide an additional tool to help theungifted children to understand the knowledge that is necessary. For example visiting the zoo to learn about an animal would allow the students to see how it moves, how it eats and behaves, sometimes even allowing the student to interact with it. This visual, audio and interactive stimulus would greatly enhance the learning experience compared with black and white words in a text book.Reason 2: Second, being active outdoors would provide the students with a sense of physical freedom. For example staying within a classroom would cause the students to feel constricted, while studying outside would provide children with fresh air and the enjoyment of nature.Reason 3: Third, outdoor facilities could provide additional stimulus to help children learn about knowledge not within a classroom. For example students might see animals and birds outside of the classroom and by observing their behavior they could learn much more about the animal than from a text book (Summary): To sum up, I think it is better to study outside of a classroom.Task2的答题格式:Topic sentence:Personally speaking, 1句话Reason 1: First, 2句话Reason 2: Second, 2句话Reason 3: Third, 2句话( Summary): To sum up, 1句话【替换personally】:in my opinion, personally, as far as I am concerned, in my view, personally speaking, I believe, for me, I consider, from my perspective, from my point of view【替换first】:to begin with, firstly, first of all, the first reason is that【替换second】: besides, in addition, also, secondly, furthermore, what is more【替换third】: plus, additionally, then【替换to sum up】: all in all, in conclusion, in a word ,in brief, therefore, that’s why I… 1:OG/ TPO2} Bus Service Elimination PlannedThe university has decided to discontinue its free bus service for students.
2. 如果听力中出现了the fact is, you know, you see, for instance等词汇,说明之后是例子需要注意。
比如TPO 3中有这么一句“I mean, …let's say maybe on a very cold morning…”
Task 1: Do you think college students should be allowed to keep pets in their dormitory?
Sample
I don’t think students should be allowed to keep pets in dorms for the following reasons. First, not everyone likes pets. We live with other students in dorms which means we share the same living space. What if others are afraid of dogs? What if they find the bird we keep to be too noisy? Second, dorms are usually very small. The space in dorms is very limited, some animals can’t live in such a confined space. Take a dog for example, it needs space to run around and jump around.
We cannot quite follow you. Despite you pronunciation is clearly and your voice is nice, you should try to slow down so others can follow you and understand you better.
