座落在国家级麋鹿自然保护区内的中华麋鹿苑，是世界最大、中国唯一的野生麋鹿园，国家AAAA级旅游景区。辽阔的海涂湿地是动物们的天堂，珍稀物种的基因库。一年一度的鹿王争霸，更是难得一见的壮观场景。

盐城市域西部地处里下河地区腹地，大纵湖、九龙口、马家荡等湖泊水域面积近百平方公里，为典型的泻湖型湖荡湿地，被誉为“金滩银荡”、“鱼米之乡”，具有良好的开发前景。目前大纵湖旅游景区已建成水上风情、历史人文、佛教文化、渔业观光、芦荡迷宫、湖滨度假等八大功能区，其中面积达14万平方米的芦荡湿地迷宫已入选吉尼斯记录。
