作形容词时

be concerned about/for 关心，担心

例句I'm concerned that they may have got lost. 我担心他们可能迷路了。concern oneself about 关心，关注

add up 加起来，合计

例句Add up 4 and 5 and you'll get 9. 把4,5相加,总数是9。

add to 增加

例句The bad weather adds to our difficulties. 坏天气增加了我们前进的困难。

add…to… 把……加到

例句Please add sugar to the mix. 请把白糖加到混合物中。

add up to 总计是，意味着

例句The bills add up to exactly $100. 这些帐单加起来正好一百元。

dare

行为动词

肯定dare to do sth.

否定not dare (to) do sth. 否定句中to可以省略

例句Do you dare to catch the cat? 你敢去抓那只猫吗？

I dare to catch the cat. 我敢抓那只猫。

I don’t dare (to) catch the cat. 我不敢抓那只猫。

She doesn't dare (to) meet him. 她不敢见他。

情态动词

肯定dare do sth.

否定dare not do sth.

例句Dare you catch the cat? 你敢去抓那只猫吗？

I dare catch the cat. 我敢抓那只猫。

I dare not catch the cat.

She dare not catch the cat.

2.语言点

While walking the dog, you were careless and it got loose and was hit by a car.

while + doing…get loose 小狗等跑丢

Try to ignore the bell and go somewhere quiet to calm your friend down.

calm sb. down 使某人平静下来

She will have to pay to get it repaired. get sth. done 此处done表示被动

You can tell him that he should have studied, so you don’t let him look at your paper. should have done 本应该已经做了，这里的done不表示被动

not…until… 直到……才
