A passage about introducing places and loves

Teaching Objectives:

{一}Knowledge Objectives:

(1)Ss can learn some new words about direction and know how to expression to describe their neighborhood where they live and how to go there.

(2)Ss will know the importance sentence structure, such as: across from, walk out, etc.

(3)Ss will be able to their partners talk about the position of a place and how to go there.

{二}Ability Objectives:

(1)Ss’ ability of listening and speaking will be well developed.

(2)Ss’ ability of describing places will be well improved.

{三}Emotional Objectives:

Ss can broaden their horizon of direction words by talking with each other and develop their interest in English learning.

Teaching Key points

(1)Ss can learn some new words about directions and grasp the

importance sentence structures, such as: across from, walk out, etc.

(2)Ss’ ability of listening and speaking will be well developed.

Teaching Difficult Point

How to communicate with other correctly and freely, and how to get the key information after listening.

Teaching Procedures:

Step1 leading-in (4 minutes)

Show some the place of small video to Ss about their place in their neighborhood.

T: What are they favorite place in their neighborhood, why?

< Justification >: This step can attract Ss’ attention and provide them with English learning surrounding.

Step2 Presentation (8 minutes)

(1) Greeting

(2)Show some picture about directions.

T: Where is the bank?

S: _______________.

T: Is there a hospital near the restaurant?

S: ______________________________.

< Justification >: Showing pictures can attract Ss’ interests to learn this lesson and lead to the main topic of the passage.

Step3 Practice (18 minutes)

Activity 1: Extensive listening (6’)

The teacher asks Ss to listen to the tape for the first time with the

following questions.

Eg 1.What does Anna like doing in the zoo?

2. Does Anna think monkeys are like people? why?

< Justification >: This step can get Ss to have a further understanding of the passage.

Activity 2 Intensive listening (12’)

(1)Listen to the tape again and fill in the blank.

Ask several Ss to share their answers with the whole class.

< Justification >: At this activity 2(1) , Ss’ skills of listening for specific information will be well developed.

(2)Find out the vocabulary that can describe the locations and find out some difficult expressions in grammar.
