The Olynpic Games The Olympic Games, first held in 776BC, has a history of more than one thousand yiars. The Games is held every four years. Many countries try their best to bid forhosting the Olympic Games. And every country does its best to get more medals in the Games. In 2000, the city of Sidney held the 27th Olympic Games. Over one hundred countries all over the world took part in it. We won 28gold medals that year. China, a major sport country, will hold the 29th Olympic Games in 2008. People from all walks of life are participating in various activities and ma-ki-ng good preparations for it. There are five rings on the Olympic flag, which are considered to symbolize, the five continents: Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and America. Yesterday our grade held a sports meeting. We have six classes in our grade. All the classes did very well. In the Boys’ 100-metre race, from Cla2 won the first. At first, Zhang Lin from our claand %ao from Cla1 were neck and neck. Lin Lin fell behind, but, finally he tried his best and came out first.

In the Girls’ 100-metre race, Mei Mei ran the fastest, and Zhang Fang from Cla4 and Li Ming from Cla5 were both fell behind. But they tried their best, and that was enough.

In the High Jump, when Jin Ling jumped metres high, all the classes stood up and cried, “Well done!Congratulations!” But Liu Tao from our claalso did very well,he jumped metres high and Chen Hao, metres high.

In the Long Jump, Zhang Ming from Cla2 was the

jumped metres long. Zhou Ping and Gao Lin from Cla4 and Cla6 were both very good.

Finally, our clawon the second. We were all very happy.

Our headmaster told us to do our best in everything.
