Introduction

Valentino chocolate are made in Turin.They have won many international awards because their luxury products with a unique taste.It now has almost 300 employees, 75 company-owned shops and a turnover of €90 million.

However,the last two years, there are some problems occurred. The sales growth has slowed down and cost have risen.Factory machines often break down.Valentino’s new products are not selling well and sales team and production staff are becoming demotivated.

Now,the company owners have set aside €1.5million to invest in their company.So,they should decide how to spend the money reasonable and the company will continue to spread.

Finding

In order to solve these problems and increase the profits for the company, we choose three options, as follows.

First of all, we will invest in more research and development. It will cost €200,000. Innovation capacity is very important for an enterprise. So the company will be better and better if only exploit new products continually. Knowing the need and scruple of the most consumers by research, for example, many persons worried about being more fat after eating the chocolates, so, we can exploit a low-fat chocolate. However, it also has disadvantages. And it will spend a lot of manpower, as well as it need large sample sizes for such research.

Secondly, we want to set up online sales. It will cost €150,000. It will cost down and increase sales and profits. Besides, it broaden marketing channel, it meet more person’s needs. What’s more, it dose advertisement for Valentino Chocolates virtually to increase the company’s awareness. But some of consumers do not believe that online shopping, especially food. If do better, we must spend more time and energy making sale web page to grab back again.

Finally, we think buying some new machinery is very necessary. And it will cost €200,000. It can end the delays caused by the old machines breaking down. It will enhance the quality of shape and speed up production. But we feel its investment is not a small number, and its

effect is not obvious in short-term. On the other hand, we should take the repair work in the later stage into account.

First of all, we should invest in more research and development.Our staffs will prepare some questionnaires to know what kind of products do customers like and what products we should improve.We divide our staffs into different groups,and assign different places to different groups.The expense about both of them is nearly €50,000.Then,we make the best use of the rest money(€150,000) to develop new products. After research we have many useful information to develop our new products .Each age group have different like,so we can develop low-hot products for young ladies,low-sugar for elders,cartoons for children.Besides, we can’t neglect the taste and products’qualities.On the other hand,we improve our packaging.The more attractively we wrap,the more sales we will have. After develop new products,we think the online sales is necessary.Nowadays,more and more people use internet to shopping.Frist we need professional staffs to set our official website.Those people should have good command of designing the web page .It will cost nearly €40,000.Besides,advertising at each famous website is also very important .About the advertisements there are some tips: a) the advertisements must stand out our products. b) the advertisements should be attractive c) the advertisements should be succinct that people can know our products when they glance at those sites.Next we set up an after-sale service department to deal with kinds of after-sale service.Impeccable service will bring good reputation and customers will more trust our company.There are also many problems about online shopping.So we should avoid those problems and give customers good shopping experience And we can cooperate with other shopping websites to expand the customers.Those will cost €110,000.
