What is System Dynamics
• System Dynamics is a perspective and set of conceptual
tools that enable us to understand the structure and dynamics of complex systems. System Dynamics is also a rigorous modeling method that enable us to build formal computer simulations of complex systems and use them to design morewk.baidu.comeffective policies and organizations (John D. What is System Dynamics
System dynamics is an approach to
understanding the behavior of complex systems over time. It deals with internal feedback loops and time delays that affect the behavior of the entire system. What makes using system dynamics different from other approaches to studying complex systems is the use of feedback loops and stocks and flows. These elements help describe how even seemingly simple systems display baffling nonlinearity

What is System Dynamics
System dynamics is a method for studying the world around us. Unlike other scientists, who study the world by breaking it up into smaller and smaller pieces, system dynamicists look at things as a whole. The central concept to system dynamics is understanding how all the objects in a system interact with one another. The objects and people in a system interact through "feedback" loops, where a change in one variable affects other variables over time, which in turn affects the original variable, and so on.

➢ After this class the students should be able to
– Building computer models of feedback systems and using the models to study the dynamic behavior of the modeled system in order to enhance understanding, predict how the system might behave under different circumstances, or find ways to improve the "performance" of the system.
I really hope the course should give students a more effective way of interpreting the world around them
