1At every stage of our lives we make decisions that will profoundly influence the lives of the people we're going to become, and then when we become thosepeople, we're not always thrilled with the decisions we made. So young people pay good money to get tattoos removed that teenagers paid good money to get.Middle-aged people rushed to divorce people who young adults rushed to marry. Older adults work hard to lose what middle-aged adults worked hard to gain. On and on and on. The question is, as a psychologist, that fascinates me is, why do we make decisions that our future selves so often regret?
Thank you all for listening!

A Young Idler,An Old BeggarAlmost everyone knows the famous Chinese saying:A young idler,an old beggar. Throughout history,we have seen many cases in which this saying has again and again proved to be true.It goes without saying that the youth is the best time of life, during which one's mental and physical states are at their peaks. It takes relatively less time and pains to learn or accept new things in a world full of changes and rapid developments. In addition, one is less likely to be under great pressure from career, family and health problems when young. Therefore,a fresh mind plus enormous energy will ensure success in different aspects of life.Of course,we all know:no pains,no gains. If we don't make every effort to make good use of the advantages youth brings us,it is impossible to achieve any goals. As students,we should now try our best to learn all the subjects well so that we can be well prepared for the challenges that we will face in the future.

And the way I got interested in this was, I noticed in myself, when I was growing up, and until about a few years ago, that I would want to say thank you to someone, I would want to praise them, I would want to take in their praise of me and I'd just stop it. And I asked myself, why? I felt shy, I felt embarrassed. And then my question became, am I the only one who does this? So, I decided to investigate.

And why do some leave the world without anything valuable to his generation and the people? Every one of us will hope to have a significant and valuable life. But what kind of life is both significant and valuable? Answers to the questions ar e …… "If you cherish your value of your own life, you will create something valuable for the world." Johann Goth said. "The life value should be judged from his contribution rather than his profession." Einstein said. Lei Feng, a communist soldier, said, "one lives to make others a more beautiful life."As we all know, Marx is an outstanding and great man. He founded his brilliant and scientific theory of communism. The theory guides the ways for the human being's liberation. Marx said, "If we can elect one suitable profession, we won't be demoralized with its pressure, because we make sacrifice for human beings. Only by this way will we not be addicted to the joy of narrow-minded and individualism. Our happiness belongs to thousands upon thousands of people. I see, although it may be unknown, our cause will never be forgot forever. Even when we depart to God, the kind people will tear down upon our ashes." When he said these words, he was only 17 years old. He meant his word with his deeds in his late lifetime period. After his death, on his 100-birthday anniversary, the proletarian and the revolutionary people of the whole world still cherish the memoryof Marx and mourn him respectively. It is his distinguishingable contribution to the mankind that his life is that significant. It is his great devotion to the human being that his life value is beyond measure. We also know that Lu Xun is a man of great. Without his nobility "Fierce-browed, I wooly defy a thousand point fingers, head bowed like a willing ox I serve the children", and without his spirit of his loyalty and devotion to the last for the bright future of the Chinese people, his life would not have been so significant and so great. Actually, didn't those regarded as essence of human who live forever in the hearts of people make great contributions to the cause of the people? Wouldn't the people remember those whose great achievements for human are recorded in history? We know for certain that not every of us will be a second Marx or Lu Xun. However, a person of noble aspirations will do solid work. Strugglecontinuously and effortless. He will try to make his greatest contribution in his shortest time. He will try what he can to bring benefit to the people in his lifetime. We'd say it is impossible for one to live alone if he isolates society and people. If he hopes to make a benefit life, he will bring benefit and make contribution to people. As a socialist youth, he will devote his life to the cause of communism in order to make a benefit life. Moreover, we say that a value of life will be only in direct proportion to achievement and contribution he makes to our society. In our real life, we can see many revolutionary martyrs die young for the people. Don't you think they cherish the life? Yes. They do. They are sentimentally attached to life; they are full of hope and desire. But they confront the death bravely and resolutely in order to make many more people live. Their brilliant status will be livingin the hearts of people. They die glorious and great. The life of those who die busy about his lifetime without any achievements can not be compared with their life. In our real life, we have many cases like those. Life is endless and tackling key problems will be continuous. Let's take these as examples. Mr. Jing Zhuying worked for the Chinese science causes to the last of his life. Mr. Zhang Hua sacrificed his own young life for the sake of others, which set a good example of the communist. Mr. An Ke died for fulfillment for the duty as a citizen. Ms Zhang Haiti, compared to be Paul of our time, worked very hard and faced frustrations of her life, though she was disabled. She still continues to live on bravely. All these are the strong of their life. Their value of life is precious. My fellow students, don't you say what a beautiful life they have? Beethoven once said; "I must learn to control my life which will never make me give myself up. Oh, If only I can live more than thousands times!" Paul Cocking also had a golden saying, "Life is but one." I think every youth of us keep this in our minds. let's turn it into reality with our deeds.Let's not be a man full of promises but without any deeds, like Lusting, one of the characters by Dougeshefol. My fellow students, let's not wander. Let's not hesitate. Only lament and vexation does not mean consideration and exploration. Only lament and vexation does not mean advancing and does not mean mature at all. Let's not kill our lifetime by playing cards. Let's not waste our youth by drinking. Let's not destroy our will without any achievements. Let's make great contribution to human. And only by these can we create benefit life. Every one will have to die and every body will be rotten. But every one may make achievements and contributions. We hate being rotten.Let's brighten up! Up! And up! We Are The World ,We Are The FutureSomeone said "we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite". I don’t know who wrote these words, but I’ve always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to be. We are all in the position of the farmers. If we plant a good seed ,we reap a good harvest. If we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.We are young. "How to spend the youth?" It is a meaningful question. T o answer it, first I have to ask "what do you understand by the word youth?" Youth is not a time of life, it’s a state of mind. It’s not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or supple knees. It’s the matter of the will. It’s the freshness of the deep spring of life.A poet said "To see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour. Several days ago, I had a chance to listen to a lecture. I learnt a lot there. I’d l ike to share it with all of you. Let’s show our right palms. We can see three lines that show how our love.career and life is. I have a short line of life. What about yours? I wondered whether we could see our future in this way. Well, let’s make a fist. W here is our future? Where is our love, career, and life? Tell me.Yeah, it is in our hands. It is held in ourselves. We all want the future to be better than the past. But the future can go better itself. Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happe ned. From the past, we’ve learnt that the life is tough, but we are tougher. We’ve learnt that we can’t choose how we feel, but we can choose what about it. Failure doesn’tmean you don’t have it, it does mean you should do it in a different way. Failure d oesn’t mean you should give up, it does mean you must try harder. As what I said at the beginning, "we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite". The past has gone. Nothing we do will change it. But the future is in front of us. Believe that what we give to the world, the world will give to us. And from today on, let’s be the owners of ourselves, and speak out "We are the world, we are the future."

Ted Classic Speech (English Version)Title: Embrace the Challenge, Pursue ExcellenceHello everyone, I feel incredibly honored to stand on this podium and share my experiences and perspectives with all of you. I have gone through many difficulties and setbacks, but it is these experiences that shaped me into who I am today. We all have the desire to pursue excellence, but often, when faced with challenges and adversities, we give up on our dreams. However, the truth is, it isonly through challenging ourselves that we can discover our potential and achieve our goals. My life experiences have taught me that the key to success lies in how we handle challenges and adversities. We cannot avoid difficulties, but instead, we should face them head-on and strive to overcome them. Only when we constantly challenge ourselves and push beyond our comfort zones can we grow and achieve greater success. Each one of us has different talents and passions, but it is only through continuous effort and perseverance that we can turn these potentials into outstanding achievements. We need to clarify our goals and develop reasonable plans and strategies to work towards them.In the face of difficulties, we should mntn an optimistic mindset. Difficulties cannot defeat us; it is only ourselves who can decide whether to give up or not. We should believe in our abilities and persist in pursuing our dreams. Even in the face of flure, we should learn from it and keep moving forward.Lastly, I want to encourage everyone to constantly challenge themselves in the pursuit of excellence. Do not fear flure when faced with difficulties and adversities;instead, believe in your abilities and persevere. Only then can we achieve true success and fulfillment.

Ladies and gentlemen,Good morning/afternoon/evening! It is an honor to stand before you today and share with you a story of inspiration, a story that I hope will ignite a flame within you, pushing you to pursue your dreams and overcome any obstacles that come your way.Today, I want to talk to you about the power of perseverance, about the strength that lies within each and every one of us. We all have goals, aspirations, and dreams, but sometimes, the journey to achieving them seems daunting, almost impossible. However, it is during these moments that we must remember that success is not about how hard you fall, but how hard you can bounce back.I want to share with you the story of a young girl named Sarah. Sarah was a talented dancer, with a passion for the stage and a dream of becoming a professional ballerina. However, her journey was not an easy one. She faced countless rejections, suffered from debilitating stage fright, and even had to deal with the criticism of her own body image. But Sarah did not let these setbacks define her. Instead, she used them as fuel for her fire, pushing herself to work even harder, to improve her skills, and to overcome her fears. She invested countless hours inpractice, seeking advice from her mentors, and constantly challenging herself to be the best that she could be.And guess what? Sarah's hard work and determination paid off. She eventually earned a spot in a prestigious dance company, achieving her dream of becoming a professional ballerina. But her journey did not end there. She continued to push herself, to grow as an artist, and to inspire others with her passion and dedication.Sarah's story is a testament to the power of perseverance and the importance of never giving up on your dreams. It is a reminder that success is not a straight line from point A to point B, but a series of ups and downs, of challenges and setbacks. It is about resilience, about bouncing back stronger than ever before. So, what can we learn from Sarah's story? First and foremost, we can learn that success is not about how talented or lucky you are, but about how hard you are willing to work for it. It is about putting in the hours, the sweat, and the tears necessary to achieve your goals.Secondly, we can learn that rejection is not a reflection of our worth, but rather a sign that we need to keep pushing ourselves, to keep growing and improving. Each rejection is an opportunity to learn, to grow, and to become better versions of ourselves. And finally, we can learn that our dreams are worth fighting for. No matter how difficult the journey may seem, no matter how manyobstacles we may face, we must never give up on our dreams. Instead, we must embrace the challenges, use them as stepping stones towards our goals, and believe in our own ability to overcome them.Ladies and gentlemen, let us be inspired by Sarah's story, let us be reminded of the power within us, and let us commit to pursuing our dreams with passion, determination, and unwavering belief in ourselves. Thank you for listening.。

Hello everyone, today I want to talk about creativity. Creativity isa very important ability that can help us find new ways to solve problems and drive social development. However, many people gradually lose their creativity as they grow up because they are constrained by rules and only believe in existing answers.I believe that we should actively cultivate and inspire creativity. First, we should maintain curiosity and constantly ask questionsand explore. Secondly, we should be brave enough to try new things, even if it may lead to failure. Finally, we should cultivate self-confidence and believe in our ability to create something unique.I hope that everyone can realize the importance of creativity and make efforts to cultivate their own creativity, thus promoting social progress and development.2.

There is noright and wrong, only a touch of one’s mind! This is the best outcome. As movie lines ofsaid, the horrors of growing up is to turnyourself into the look of the person you've ever disliked. The cost of growth isto lose some things, those things are the ones that you do not feel precious, but a few years later, when you have experienced a lot of things you wouldrealize these will not appear again in your later life. But it does not matter, everyone's growth path is the case. Just cherish what you have now, becausethoseare the youth, with tears, heartbreak in return. In the coming days, thememories of the past would warm your heart. I say ,youth is immortal, Happiness,or pain are both the evidence that witness your youth.Life is very marvelous, the ability human knew about the nature haslimitation, you never know what will happen next, especially when youfind yourself in a desperate. The road to success is full of variables, andperhaps success is only one kind of possibility. Perhaps, we pass through for alifetime endeavor, arrives at the end of life, finally has not obtainedsuccessfully, but we did not regret, because of our efforts. What we are supposed to do is to cherish what we have now, and learn to bethankful, and look ahead.fight for your dreams! Dear audience and judges,My topic is "Can money buy happiness".As we all know, money can buy all the goods in our life, no matter how huge it is. A spaceship, for example, if you really feel your bank account can afford it.However, when it comes to love, satisfaction, happiness and many other human feelings, it is completely not like this. The result of many recent research can support my point. They said that, though people received far more money than ever, their standard for happiness also rised. That means, if you had one yuan, a car might be your dream, but if you had one million, you might consider owning a space trip. So when people always hope for those they can not afford, they will push themselves to an unhappyAnyhow, money equal wealthy in life but not happiness inmind. Only by changing our attitude to money and enjoying every day, can we obtain a truely happy future! As you slowly open your eyes, look around, notice where the light comes into your room; listen carefully, see if there are new sounds you can recognize; feel with your body and spirit, and see if you can sense the freshness in the air. TED演讲中英文本TED演讲中英文本—《怎样从错误中学习》I have been teaching for a long time, andin doing have acquired a body of knowledge about kids and learning that Ireally wish more people would understa about the potential of students. In1931, my grandmoth -- bottom left for you guys over here -- graduated fromthe eighth grade. She went to school to get the information because that'swhere the information live It was in the books, it was inside the teacher'shead, a she needed to go there to get the information, becaus that's how youlearned. Fast-forward a generation: thi theone room schoolhouse, Oak Grove, where my fath went to a one roomschoolhouse. And he again had to travel to the school to get theinformation from the teacher, store it in the only portable memory he has, which is inside his own head, and take it with him because that is howinformation was being transporte from teacher to student and then used in theworld. Wh I was a kid, we had a set of encyclopedias at my house was purchased the year Iwas born, and it was extraordinary, because I did not have to wait to go to thelibrary to get to the information; the information winside my house and itwas awesome. This was differe than either generation had experienced before, and it changed the way I interacted with information even at just a smalllevel. But the information was closer to I could getaccess to it.
(背景:当学习知识的途径越来越多时,学校和教师已不再是人们获取知识的唯一来源)In the time thatpasses between when I was a d in high school and when I started teaching, were y see the advent of the internet. Right about the tim the internet getsgoing as an educational tool, I tak off from Wisconsin and move to Kansas, small town Kansas, where I had an opportunity to teach in a l ely, small townrural Kansas school district, where I was teaching my favorite subject,American governm nt. My first year -- super gung ho --going to teach merican government, loved political system. Kids in he 12thgrade: not exactly all that enthusiastic abou he American governmentsystem. Year two: learned few things -- had to change my tactic. And I put in ont of them an authentic experience that allowedth m to learn for themselves. I didn't tell them what t do, or how to do it. Iposed a problem in front of th m, which was to put on an election forumfor their wn community. They producedfliers, they called offices, they checked schedules, they were meeting with secretaries, they produced an election forum booklet for the entire town tolearn more about their candidates. They invited everyone into the schoolfor an evening of conversation about government and politics and whether or notthe streets were done well, and really had this robust experiential learning. The older teachers -- more experienced -- looked at me and went, "Oh,there she is. That's so cute. She's trying to get that done." (Laughter)"She doesn't know what she's in for." But I knew that the kids wouldshow up. And I believed it. And I told them every week what I expected out ofthem. And that night, all 90 kids -- dressed appropriately, doing their job, owning it. I had to just sit and watch. It was theirs. It wasexperiential. It was authentic. It meant something to them. And they will stepup.
(事例1:体验式学习让学生获益匪浅)From Kansas, Imoved on to lovely Arizona, where I taught in Flagstaff for a number of years, this time with middle school students. Luckily I didn't have to teach themAmerican government. Could teach them the more exciting topic of geography.Again, thrilled to learn. But what was interesting about this position I foundmyself in in Arizona, was I had this really extraordinarily eclectic groupof kids to work with in a truly public school. And we got to have these momentswhere we would get these opportunities. And one opportunity was we got to goand meet Paul Rusesabagina, which is the gentleman that the movie "HotelRwanda" is based after. And he was going to speak at the high school nextdoor to us. We could walk there; we didn't even have to pay for the buses. There was no expense cost. Perfect field trip. The problem thenbecomes how do you take seventh- and eighth-graders to a talk about genocideand deal with the subject in a way that is responsible and respectful, andthey know what to do with it. And so we chose to look at Paul Rusesabagina asan example of a gentleman who singularly used his life to do somethingpositive. I then challenged the kids to identify someone in their own life, orin their own story, or in their own world, that they could identify that haddone a similar thing. I asked them to produce a little movie about it. It's thefirst time we'd done this. Nobody really knew how to make these little movieson the computer. But they were into it. And I asked them to put their own voiceover it. It was the most awesome moment of revelation that when you askkids to use their own voice and ask them to speak for themselves, what they'rewilling to share. The last question of the assignment is: howdo you plan touse your life to positively impact other people? The things that kids will saywhen you ask them and take the time to listen is extraordinary.
