if与whether用法区别
(1)直接与or not连用时,往往用whether(if…or not也可以使用)。如: Let me know whether or not he will come.
(= Let me know whether / if he will come or not.)
I don't know whether or not he does any washing.
(= I don't know whether / if he does any washing or not.)
I wonder whether we stay or whether we go.
I'm interested in whether he likes English.
We're thinking about whether we can finish the work on time.
I worry about whether I hurt her feelings.
He hasn't decided whether to visit the old man.
I don't know whether to go.
He hasn't decided whether to go by bus or by train.
Whether this is true or not,I can't say.
Whether she will come or not is still a question.
The question is whether we can catch the bus.
Please let me know if you like the book.
a.Please let me know whether you like the book.
b.If you like the book, please let me know.
Idon’t care if it doesn’t rain.
Where will we have the meeting this afternoon? Could you tell me? →
Could you tell me where we will have the meeting this afternoon?
Who bought the present for me?I don't know.→
I don't know who bought the present for me.
What’s the matter with him? She asked me. →
She asked me what was the matter with him.
Who looks after your grandfather? He asked me. →
He asked me who looked after my grandfather.
5. 当主句的谓语动词是think (认为), know(知道), believe(相信), suppose(料想), guess(猜想)等表示看法的词时,有下列两种情况:
He isn’t a student . I think. →
I don’t think that he is a student, is he?
She can’t do that. We suppose. →
We don’t suppose that she can do that, can she?
