Grammar:

1.as…as同级比较

表示双方某方面相同: as +adj原级/adv原级+ as和…一样

表示双方某方面不同: not as/so +adj原级/adv原级+as和…不一样

This desk is not as/so heavy as that one. 这张桌子不如那张重。

=This desk is lighter than that one. 这张桌子比那张轻。

=That desk is heavier than this one. 那张桌子比这张重。

注意：当对事物进行比较时，双方必须是同类事物。

Her ruler is as long as mine.

亲自: for oneself

给某人自己穿衣服: dress oneself 自言自语: say/talk to oneself

随便吃/喝…: Help yourself/yourselves to sth.

自学: teach oneself=learn…by oneself

玩得愉快: enjoy oneself (doing sth)=have fun (doing sth)=have a good time (doing sth) 独自: by oneself=alone=on one’s own

Mary正在自学法语。

Mary taught herself French.

=Mary learnt French by herself.

=Mary learnt French on her own.

The book itself is very heavy. 这本书本身很重。
