No response delay between sensing and actual seam tracking Very small radius of curvature and complex 3D geometries are possible to track Incomplete fusion of the seam is diminished significantly Complexity of robot program is reduced No “wear” of the filler wire Contamination of the parts, plume or radiation of the process does not affect the seam tracking
