高考对阅读理解能力测试的主语要求:
1.Master the main idea of a whole passage; 2.Understand the specific details and abstract conceptions; 3.Get the deep meaning of words or sentences, including the writer’s intention, attitude and so on; 4.Understand the relationship between sentences and paragraphs; 5.Be able to guess the meaning of new words or phrases according to the students’ common sense and information offered by the passage.

Passage A
Old people who drink several cups of green tea a day are less likely to suffer from depression, probably due to a “ feel good” chemical found in this type of tea , Japanese researchers said. Several studies have linked drinking green tea to reducing psychological problems.Kaijun Niu,of Tohoku University Graduate school,and colleagues found people aged 70 and older who drank four or more cups of green tea daily were 44 percent less likely to experience depression. Green tea is widely consumed in many Asia countries,including China and Japan. Niu’s team did research on 1,058 relative health elderly men and women.. About 34 percent of the men and 39 percent of the women had symptoms of depression,according to the study that was published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. A total of 488 of them said they drank four or more cups of green tea a day;284 said they downed two to three cups daily and the rest reported having one or fewer cups daily. According to the researchers, the obvious effect of drinking more green tea on cutting down symptoms of depression did not fade after they considered social and economic status,gender,diet,history of medical problems and use of antidepressants ( 抗抑郁药).There was no connection between drinking black or oolong(乌龙茶),or coffee,and lower symptoms of depression. A green tea component,the amino acid theanine,which is thought to have a calm effect on the brain,may explain the “potentially beneficial effect” shown in the current study,Niu noted,adding that more study is needed. Key:可用查读法,即带着问题寻找答案。 在略读阅读材料中将注意力集中在与who, what, when,where问题有关的细节或数字 信息。
(二)主旨大意

1.利用构词法:转化(free: adj.—v.), 合成(brunch breakfast and lunch), 派生(前缀:biochemistry 后缀: graduation); 2.利用表转折、因果、并列等的关联词 (but/however/as a result/not only---but also等) 3.利用定义或释义,同义或反义等(that is to say/or rather/namely/in other words/refer to/unlike/ similarly等); 4.利用定语从句或同位语从句; 5.利用上下文提供的信息,代词所指代的内容等。
