GLA tends to cross-link CS bonding through the amino groups and EPI through the hydroxyl groups. the polymer hydrophobic character changes and diffusion of metal ions into the net becomes slower and therefore different for GLA and EPI.

On the other hand, the ‘steric’ effect makes it difficult for Cu(II)–EDDS complexes to approach amino groups.
• 壳聚糖的吸附性能与它的高疏水性能有关(羟基、氨基、羧甲基),高密度的氨基和 羧甲基使壳聚糖能与带负电的物质发生反应. 改变pH能调节壳聚糖的质子化和去质子化 能力。
• pH 由1 到 6,是壳聚糖的氨基质子化的过程,随着pH增大,质子化程度从100% 降到 76% 。pH 高于8 ,壳聚糖完全去质子化,不能吸附重金属离子。
