Dear Peter, Is everything going well? I’m informed today that an
English dubbing contest is going to be held in our school on March 10. With great interest, I read the requirements of the competition, only to feel depressed by the choice of the film. So I’m writing to seek for your recommendation.
Your parents won’t allow you to take part-time jobs / probably because they consider study as your most important task. After all, the college entrance examination next year is crucial to your future. Moreover, they may think you are too young to work.
I'm confident that I am a right person for this activity. For one thing, I am fluent in English, which plays an important role in communicating with foreigners. For another thing, I have learnt shadow play for more than 8 years and can perform it perfectly. I'm sure foreign friends will be interested in shadow play after watching it. What's more, as a sweet-tempered and easy-going girl, I can surely get on well with foreign friends.
The Handcrafted Art Association was founded in 2009, aiming at developing students' interests in handcrafts and promoting Chinese traditional culture as well. Members make many handcrafts, such as modeling sculptures in clay, making kites, painting facial make-ups and so on, from which they can not only cultivate their tastes in art but also make like-minded friends.
