开明教育有助于孩子自我价值的实现……
• open education may allow them to enjoy learning • help them realise their own dreams • develop independence/confidence • be successful later on in life
赏识教育,好孩子是夸出来的…...
• encouragement and good behavior go hand in hand. • praise can be a reinforcement of good behavior • those who are always praised by their parents often perform well at school • encouragement will help their children form good manners
• Some parents insist that children should make every effort to live up to their parents’ expectations. They believe it is necessary to be strict with their children. They say parents who set high standards and push their kids to study and make achievements can ensure their children’s success in the future competition. • Others, on the contrary, hold the opinion that children should have the right to make their own decisions and develop in their own way. Additionally, praise the children when they do well and encourage them when they are faced with challenges, and they will be more independent and confident. • In my opinion, those who are raised with the strict Chinese parenting style don’t have the ability to think and act independently. They lack imagination, creativity and social skills. Parents should not put so much pressure on the children. Just give them suggestions and show respect to their own choices so that they will learn to be independent.

真实的人生就是快乐与痛 苦同在,在童年时期也需 要为此做好准备。

A debate heated up recently, thanks to Amy Chua’s book about a Chinese “tiger mother”. In her latest book entitled “The Battle Hymn of a Tiger Mother”, Amy describes how she adopts traditional Chinese methods to educate her children, which is considered by many westerners to be too hard and inhuman. One of the issues being discussed after the book was published is whether early education should focus on children’s happiness. Those supporting the idea argue that early education is intended to help children grow up in a cheerful atmosphere and inspire them to better themselves in an all-round way. Therefore we should allow children to enjoy the happiness which can only be found during their childhood.
• some parents firmly believe that it's important for them to make choices for their children who are not wise and mature enough. they think their children should make every effort to live up to parents epectations and some times they even need to push their children to do what they are not interested in. this may sound cruel, yet, they believe their efforts will help their children survive the fierce competition in the future. • others, on the contrary, think that parents should not interfere with their children's development. children should be allowed to do what they like and make their own choices.Besides, they consider encouragement as an effective way to help their children to realise their own dreams. • in my opinion, parents' guidance is necessary, but too much pressure on children may discourage them from being independent, creative and imaginative.

a happy and carefree life is the most important to a child. too much criticism may result in child's low self esteem/parent should be generous with praise parents guidance is necessary believe in our parents children always lacks discipline/children will naturely withdraw from difficulties and responsibilities. without parents' guidance ,they may achieve nothing.
孩子应该自由发展…...
• children should be allowed to develop freely/in their own way/make their own decisions /do what they are interested in • parents shouldn't interfere with children's development
